Max the Cat Provides Many Messages

Every week I get a good number of emails from grieving pet parents who dog or cat passed, and they ask me to connect if I can. Fortunately, pets are great communicators!

Here's a series of emails about a Cat named Max that came through to me. Just look at the ways he let me know that it was him - there were so many ways!!

EMAIL TO ME: 

Hi Rob, I really appreciate you giving me comfort that my family and I will see my beautiful Cat Max that was 16 years old and lived with us for 16 years will be waiting for us in heaven we die one day. I wanted to ask you if you are able to connect with Max and find out from him if he is happy and feeling healthy and at peace where he is. My husband and I and our son have been quite upset about his passing and it would be great if we knew how he is doing. Thank you so much!!

MY EMAIL AND MAX'S MESSAGES: 

Hi -   When I read your note I kept seeing a somewhat striped cat tail curling around, and his ears are perked up. Of course, I have no idea what he looked like. But he is safely on the other side.
   Was there someone that you referenced to him as "uncle" who passed away? I keep hearing Uncle... or is the "uncle" someone that he particularly liked on this side? He seems quite connected to him.
    His health is perfect - as we all achieve perfect health in spirit- because we become pure energy.
  Max is also showing that he likes to lay on his side, I think it's his right side and expose his tummy. Did he do that?  He's purring contentedly, too, telling me that he's grateful for the wonderful life he had with you and is still going to come around.
 You may see him as a shadow from the corner of your eye, or may even feel his presence jump on a bed or a couch. Mostly likely, he'll make an appearance in all of your dreams.
  He will always be connected to you!
Hope you can make sense of some of these things and they bring you comfort.

 EMAIL CONFIRMING WHAT MAX SHOWED ME:
Max did have a striped tail. He was a domestic long hair gray and white cat. Max did like lying on his right side on our carpet in the living room. I am so happy that is safely on the other side and that he is happy and purring and in perfect health. It is amazing that you said an uncle that passed away because my uncle Vince did pass away around a month ago. Do you know if this is the uncle that Max is connected to on the other side. I am so grateful to you for connecting with Max. This really does bring comfort to my family and I.

I just want to ask you something else if that is okay. Do you know if Max is upset with my husband and I for having him put down. Because I am sometimes feeling guilty for doing that but I know that he was not doing well and that’s why we decided to do that.

MY RESPONSE AND MORE MESSAGES FROM MAX: Max is not upset with you or your husband. In fact, he's thankful that you both were strong enough to recognize that he was tired of fighting and wanted to move on, and have the courage to help make that happen. It is the most unselfish act of unconditional love that we can show for each other. 
  He doesn't want you to feel guilt. He thanks you and wants you to know how much he appreciates your love. 

EMAIL CONFIRMING APPEARANCE IN DREAMS! 

Hi Rob,I hope you are doing great!! I had my first dream of Max last night since he has passed away. He was in his litter box and he looked fine, also I noticed there was hardly any cat litter in his box and as I was watching him he was slowly getting smaller in size and then just disappeared. You were right about me seeing him in a dream. Thanks again for everything!!

Q&A: Do Pets Feel Pain of Sickness and Death?

Every week I get a lot of emails from people who are grieving over their pets who have passed or have questions.

Here are two good questions and my answers, to help you better understand what happens before pets transition to the afterlife.

QUESTIONS: My question is do animals feel the pain of sickness and death the way people do? 
Do they understand?

ANSWERS: Yes, animals feel pain and the approach of death as people do. That's why some animals choose to retreat to a quiet corner to pass, while others come to their loved ones for attention in their last hours. Humans make the same choice.
  They do understand that their body is failing, and they are about to pass.

Don't Believe any faith that says "pets don't cross over or have souls"

As someone who has had the ability to get messages from spirits of people and pets since I was a teenager, there is absolutely nothing that makes me angrier than hearing that some "Religious people" tell pet parents that "animals have no soul," and that "animals don't go to heaven.' That is SO stupid. Really. Yes, I said stupid because their ignorance hurts grieving pet parents and their children. Those people that say animals have "no soul" simply don't know what they're talking about.

FIRST, LET"S DEFINE A "SOUL":  EVERY living thing has a soul. A Soul is the combination of memories and personalities and intelligence. We all know that pets learn, they have love, they have memories (just don't feed them on time and they'll let you know), and they all have their own personalities. OF COURSE ANIMALS HAVE SOULS.

This blog is not to put down religions (because not all of them believe in the "no soul" idea). However, please keep in mind that religions only say what their religious books tell them. It's important to remember that many religious texts were written for primitive peoples when no one understood science, behavior or the afterlife. In fact, people who continue to say "animals have no souls" have never talked with spirits on the other side as mediums do. So, how can they make these ridiculous claims that pets have no souls? Answer; They can't. They have no idea what they're talking about and it does so much harm to grieving pet parents. It's maddening!

I have seen my family dogs on the other side in the light waiting for my dad.
I've literally received THOUSANDS of messages from pets who have given me so much detail, that I couldn't possibly know - and they've proved their identities. In fact I've received SO many messages, I wrote "Pets and the Afterlife 2" that contains many of them.

So, next time a person of a religion tells you "animals don't have souls" tell them they most certainly do and you know someone who has proven it countless times over.
  In fact, I'm sure that any dog, cat, rabbit, etc. has a better chance of crossing over before those people. Of course the religious person will find out how wrong they are when they die and transition to spirit!

SO, take heart. Your dog, cat, horse, bird, etc. will ALWAYS be connected to you and will be waiting for you on the other side.

Q&A - Will Spirits find us if we move?

Here's a question I received recently asking if spirits will find us if we move.
QUESTION:   Mom died six weeks ago, and we had her cremated. We have her urn in the living room. We haven't sensed her presence yet, but I'm trying to keep an open mind about it.  If she is inclined to visit, but Dad and I move to another house, would she be able to find us if we put the urn in the new house? Or would she only be able to look for us in the house she'd lived in?

ANSWER: Your mom's energy is connected to you and spirits can go anywhere, so she will always be with you. Only earth-bound ghosts are fixed to a location - your mom is a spirit and has crossed over.

Spirits can find us wherever we go in the world or on the other side, Their energies are forever linked to ours because the emotional energy of love acts as a draw and a beacon to spirits.

4 People Encountered George Washington's Spirit in Mount Vernon, VA

Back in 2012, I visited Mount Vernon, home of the first U.S. President, George Washington. Afterward I published
a blog about my experience (part of it is below), and since then, several other people have shared their experiences of sensing the President himself walking around!
  I believe that George Washington visits as a SPIRIT (he's crossed over and comes back), and is not an Earth-bound ghost, because Washington has been seen in several other places, and ghosts usually can't travel from place to place easily. Washington comes back to enjoy his house on occasion.
  Here are the experiences:

1) My Experience: Rob Gutro (March 2012)
   Upon going into one of the upstairs guest rooms I was overwhelmed with energy, and suddenly got a sharp pain in my throat! - I wasn't sure what was going on. The sharp pain became a dry throat, and it hurt. After walking through the room into a small hallway where a docent stood I learned why I felt that pain.

  The docent said "You are now in a small hallway, and pointed to an adjoining bedroom. She said it was the room where George Washington died. She said that he said 2 days before he died that he suddenly had "a sharp pain in his throat!" 

  So, I immediately knew that President Washington was letting me know what happened to him, and what he experienced before he died! I didn't really expect to meet President Washington that day, but it seems I did.

I went in the summer of 2015 and it was ABSOLUTELY FREEZING in President Washington's room. There was no air conditioning in the house esp on the second floor on the landing it was stiflingly hot with several mini fans blowing to make it easier for the guides to do their "talk"but when I came to Pres. Washington's room, even though there was plastic that prevented entry into his room proper, you COULD extend your arm into the actual room and it was FREEZING i could not help but feel he was in that room

(Rob Gutro's response: It makes perfect sense that you felt a presence as a student. The younger we are the more we are more apt to trust our feelings and senses - especially when it comes to sensing ghosts or spirits that crossed over. As we grow older, we are taught to be more "logical thinkers" and we try to explain away our interactions with ghosts or spirits. You had a genuine encounter!)

I have also been in the house on tour and when I was there and I could of sworn I saw a figure in the corner of the living room. It was a male, I would've guess about in his 50s, but I am not really good with guessing ages myself, I think the man was wearing a nightgown. At first I thought it was all a trick of the mind, I haven't had too many experiences like that before then, and when I went upstairs to the bedrooms, I saw a picture, and I have learned that Washington died in his sleep and the picture was showing him in his death bed with his family surrounding him, and he looked exactly like I had seen.
