A Review I Like on my Pets and the Afterlife book

Here's a nice review I received recently about my series of Pets and the Afterlife books:

Rob Gutro's book is amazing. The book has offered me comfort and knowledge of the frequent messages I have received from my passed Coco. I cannot thank Mr. Gutro enough for the gifts he shares with those of us who are lost and have a broken heart over the loss of their pet and friend.
His books are insightful and wonderful!
You're the best Mr. Gutro!!

A Review I Like: "Pets and the Afterlife"

The reason I wrote "Pets and the Afterlife" is to help others understand what happens when our pets pass and how they communicate from the other side. I also explain how living pets can see and hear ghosts and spirits. I really appreciate receiving emails from people who have read the book and have received comfort from it. Here's an excerpt from an email I received this month. - Rob Gutro

Apr 4th, 4:56pm

Hi Mr. Gutro I lost my best friend on 3/6. He had cancer but lived longer than was expected I think due to me changing his diet and doing all I could for him which led me to your book "Pets and the Afterlife". It really helped me to not feel so sad and guilty. Out of all the books I've read, it helped the most.

The loss of a pet is like to loss of a child to pet owners. The love we share with our pets never dies, and in a new book called "Pets and the Afterlife" by Rob Gutro, the author provides proof that our pets do communicate with us from the other side.
"I wrote this book to bring comfort to people who lost a pet and explain how our dogs and cats give us messages from the other side," Gutro said. "I'm a dog dad who lost two of my own beloved dogs and both have communicated with me, just as your pets are trying to get messages to you."
Rob Gutro is a dog owner, dog rescue volunteer, medium/paranormal investigator for Inspired Ghost Tracking of Md. and scientist. In Rob's third book, "Pets and the Afterlife," readers will learn how dogs, cats, horses and some birds have the intelligence and ability to send signs to the living after they pass. They will take comfort in knowing our pets are around us from time to time in spirit and recognize the signs they give us.
In addition, readers will learn about the different levels of intelligence that a pet develops and how they are used to communicate signs to the living after the pet passes away. Rob shares scientific studies that prove our pets emotions and personalities. Read the science behind why living pets can sense entities. The author even takes the readers on a paranormal investigation where one of his dogs helps solve a mysterious canine mystery. Learn how our pets in spirit wait for us when it’s our time, what a pet’s ashes can do, the difference between ghosts and spirits and the science behind the energy they use to communicate with us.
"The book also features my dog Buzz who was killed in an accident as a puppy, and became the world's greatest canine communicator in the afterlife," Gutro said. Rob's childhood dogs recently also made an appearance as his mother passed away.
Three of the chapters are written by well-known mediums whose own dogs returned and communicated with them to assure them they were at peace. The book features medium Barb Mallon, Ruthie Larkin the Beantown Medium and Troy Cline. You'll read how Rob's dog Sprite passed and came to all three of these mediums with similar messages and how he revealed his presence to many people in the form of butterfly.
Read an amazing story of how a ghost dog rescued a young girl who grew up to work for dog rescues, and how Rob encountered a tiny ghostly dog in a famous museum in England.

Fascinating Book, Amazing Clairvoyant: "My Passport Says Clairvoyant"

Our friend Ruthie Larkin, known as the "Beantown Medium" in the Boston area recommended that we read a book about the life of a clairvoyant from Holland named M. B. Dykshoorn called "My Passport Says Clairvoyant."
The book was amazing.   Mr. Dykshoorn had an amazing ability to see things beyond the visible. The book explains how he struggled with his gift as a child - as people didn't believe him, questioned him, and he was even thought a troublemaker because he could "see" things that happened elsewhere in people's lives. Children today with this gift or a gift of mediumship are also often mistreated or reprimanded when they're simply telling the truth in what they see, hear and feel beyond the realm of the physical. People can learn from this and acknowledge their children's gifts.
Mr. Dykshoorn worked with police in Europe and America to find missing persons, re-enact murder cases (where he could see what happened to victims from their perspective - including the layout of the rooms they were in when murdered) , and tell people about how their life would turn out. Mr. Dykshoorn became famous throughout Europe in the late 1940s and 1950s. He and his wife moved to Australia and finally to the U.S. In fact, he was so amazing that he was awarded a police badge in Raleigh, N.C. for helping solve murders. (Holland actually stamped his passport "Clairvoyant," - thus the name of the book).
What's fascinating is that in the Netherlands, being a psychic was believed and welcomed. Once he moved to Australia and the U.S., people doubted him. However, he persevered and showed them his amazing talent.
He was a psychic and clairvoyant (That's different from what Rob does- talking with dead people and pets).  He actually cured people of diseases by taking on the symptoms and purging them from himself (I think it has to do with   energy transference).
He and his wife passed in October 2011 in a fire. Although her father’s gift remained intact until his death, their daughter Helga Dykshoorn said he had difficulty making predictions about those closest to him. For this reason, she said that he could not have foreseen the fire that ravaged his apartment.
An article in the NY Times in October, 2011, contained some stories from people Mr. Dykshoorn had met. Here's a paragraph from the article: He had even performed medical miracles, guests were told. One man spoke of the creaky knee that Mr. Dykshoorn had remedied. Then there was the woman with the brain tumor, given 10 years to live, she said, but still plodding along 35 years later. After a visit with Mr. Dykshoorn, she recalled, she returned to her doctors, who were perplexed to learn that the tumor had virtually disappeared.

The book "My Passport Says Clairvoyant" and was published in 1974 by Hawthorn Books Inc./New York and authored by Russell H. Felton.  This book is well worth the effort to track down!

Great Book: Ghosts and Gravestones in St. Augustine Florida.

I recently enjoyed reading the book Ghosts and Gravestones in St. Augustine Florida.
This is the companion book of St. Augustine's haunted tour.
The book is written by John Stavely, and is well written, filled with short stories and photos of the haunted places described, and a great read. Even if you never visit St. Augustine and you want to read about some true, eerie ghost stories- this is a short and great read! Highly recommended. It's only 77 pages and well worth reading.
In fact, after reading it, you'll likely want to go to this Florida east coast city to investigate.

Reader Review: "Wonderfully Insightful": Pets and the Afterlife

5.0 out of 5 stars Another fantastic book by Rob Gutro!, April 17, 2014
Amazon.com
This review is from: Pets and the Afterlife (Paperback)
Once again, Rob Gutro has published another wonderfully insightful book. Unexplained phenomena that can occur as a result of our pets passing, or through our pets still here with us, is such a beautiful way for our "animal kids" to let us know that this is not the end. Heaven is out there and the love goes with our departed family and friends and reminds us that we are never alone.

Rob Gutro refers to himself as a "medium rare" (in that he's still working on developing his psychic abilities), but I think he may be nearing "medium well." His heart is clearly in a loving and compassionate place for animals, and this is so evident throughout the book. I hope he continues to work at honing this gift.

I look forward to seeing more from Mr. Gutro!

A Reader Review for Pets and the Afterlife

Reader Review
Amazon.com:  5.0 out of 5 stars For every pet owner
May 22, 2014
Format:Paperback
I wish I'd read Rob Gutro's book before my dog became very sick. During and after her death, my family really struggled with a huge mix of emotions after having to put her down. This book significantly helps ease the pain of having lost a pet and aids the healing process. Definitely worth a read!

Review Ghost and Spirits Insights from a Medium by Rob Gutro

Wow. I just got this review from a book blogger whom I met this past summer at a book event. I gave her a copy of my book to review and she just published this really wonderful review.  If you're an avid reader, you need to like her FB page and check out the books she reviews. What a great present to me on Halloween!

My Review

First and foremost I have to say I met this author and had a very interesting conversation with him. He was very articulate and was well informed on the paranormal. He offered me a proof copy of his book if i would read and give my honest opinion on his book. I want to let you all know I do believe in Ghosts, I have seen Ghosts/Spirits if you believe me or not that is your opinion, I will now give my opinion on this book.

Rob Gutro gives you a insightful break down of  paranormal activity, ghosts and haunts in the first few chapters which answer a lot of questions that are normally asked about how, what, where and why paranormal activity happens. The experiences that are written in this book are not only from Rob Gutro's personal experiences and that of his family but also of many other people and historical sites. This book is full of experiences that make you go wow and look at things in a different light. This book is not one of those typical haunting books that you can pick up in gift shop which gives historical "ghost" facts, this is something more real and personal. I truly enjoyed this book and for those looking for answers or just wanting something a little different I recommend this book to you.

I rate this book
4.5 out of 5

As today is Halloween I thought that it was appropriate to do the review on this day.
I received this book in exchange for my honest review.

Book: "Never Say Goodbye" by medium Patrick Mathews

I'm in the process of reading"Never Say Goodbye" by medium Patrick Mathews. I am thoroughly enjoying it. I'm a developing medium hoping to be at Patrick's level someday. I wrote the book "Ghosts and Spirits Insights from a Medium" about my experiences. I'm a meteorologist, so I try to explain entities using science.
I told Patrick that I found the chapter about suicides very interesting- especially how when people pray for God to "forgive" people for being born gay or lesbian, that it inhibits the gay person from moving forth in the afterlife until their relative understands and accepts the gay person. Fascinating --and totally understandable. God loves all, no exceptions. If only religions would understand that.
The book is filled with interesting readings, and great lessons. I recommend it.

Good Book of Canadian Ghost Stories!

I recently finished reading an interesting Collection of Canadian Ghost Stories called "Maritime Mysteries" (Paperback) by Bill Jessome. The author collected a good number of interesting ghost stories that are situated in Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. If you're planning to visit either place I recommend getting this book and reading it- then checking some of these places out. Each story is a quick and enjoyable read!
