ATTN: Animal Rescues; I will Give a FREE On-line Fundraising Lecture for you.

If you or anyone you know is connected to an animal rescue or shelter and would like me to give a  free lecture on how pets communicate from the afterlife, based on my 2 books "Pets and the Afterlife 1 and 2," contact me at Rgutro@gmail.com.
NOTE: Pets and the Afterlife 3: Spirit Dogs, and Coping with Grief is coming in January 2021
HOW IT WORKS
In short, I'm a meteorologist, but since I was a child I've had a gift to be able to communicate with those who passed. In 2005, when my puppy Buzz passed I've been able to communicate with all domesticated pets who have passed. So, I've written 2 books to teach others how to recognize the signs from their own pets.
ABOUT THE EVENT
My lectures are about 45 minutes and are interactive with audience participation, because you'd be surprised how many people have their own experiences. As a scientist in my day job, my books are based on energy. If people have religious beliefs or no beliefs, they can apply them to the concepts. There's usually a lot of healing and understanding that happens!
RAISED UP TO $1,800 IN ONE DAY!
You may want to speak with Megan Williams at Lakes Region Humane Society (LRHS) in Ossippee or Charlotte Williams at Animal Rescue League of NH (ARLNH) in Bedford to get their reaction on these lectures that I have done in BOTH rescues in 2018, 2019 and on-line in 2020. In 2018, ARLNH wound up having me do 3 lectures and raised about $1800 for them in one afternoon!
NO COST TO SHELTERS
There is NO charge to rescues and shelters. They just organize the event, provide a space  (OR we can do it On-line as a "Live" event), collect the registration fees and host the event. So rescues advertise and charge for it (ARLNH and LRHS charged $20 per person, but you can charge what you feel is affordable),
WHY I DO IT ON MY WEEKENDS
I do this to help people heal from their grief and to help animal rescues raise money. Fortunately, I have a good daytime job that enables me to pay for transportation to rescues on some weekends to do this.
I JUST ASK TO SELL MY BOOKS
I ask for nothing other than to sell my books at the event for $10 each (to help pay for my travel) or ask that the rescue tells attendees about them and where to find them on Amazon.com.   I hope to visit in person or on-line and help raise funds for your rescue next year! Sincerely,
Rob Gutro

A Book Review I Like: Ghosts of England on a Medium's Vacation

Please review my books on Amazon.com and Goodreads.com! It helps people find them and I appreciate it. Here's a great interview I received from Shelley S. about Ghosts of England on a Medium's Vacation

Shelley S.: Review: Ghosts of England: On a Medium’s Vacation

As late Summer fades into the glorious shades of Autumn and you are stuck at home during the no-travel pandemic, your thoughts naturally turn to travel! You remember the joy of planning that next trip to Europe, wishing you were going somewhere fun this year. Planning is half the fun, and what better time to plan than now?! If you are a British history or historical romance novel fan, you are in luck because you can experience the best of travel planning and have a great read on a lazy Sunday Fall afternoon, while thinking of Halloween, all in one with Rob Gutro’s new book Ghosts of England: On a Medium’s Vacation.

This book blends English history, the supernatural, travel, and the paranormal all in one. The matter-of-fact approach is a great travel guide that never frightens the reader but leaves the impression that it is quite natural and wonderful to find ghosts in residence in castles and houses in Great Britain since their eventful lives and often tragic deaths have shaped history. This is not an eat-here-sleep-there guide to getting value for your travel dollar. The aware, open-minded traveler may want to take time to seek to engage with the spirits in residence at many of these locations and do some background reading, too.

So cozy-up with a pot of Earl Grey and a scone with your cat or dog snoozing happily, snug in a wooly throw, and get your travel-planning guide books together. Put this one on the top of the stack

Paranormal Q&A: What was your first case?

Each week, I'll answer a question about the paranormal, whether a general question, or one about human or animal ghosts (Earthbound) or spirits (crossed over). Here's this week's question: Q: What was your first case?

A: Although I encountered many ghosts on my own, my first "case" with the Inspired Ghost Tracking Group of Maryland was at a haunted book store in Baltimore called the "Book Escape."  I wrote about that investigation in my book "Lessons Learned from Talking to the Dead."

The bookstore reported that often the book they were looking for would be placed on the floor of the room in which it was filed. They also told of a glass sliding across a counter.

I went into the investigation with another medium and the manager of the group, and we were able to figure out the identity of the ghost, and I even got a photo of him that I put in the book!

That investigation was also covered by the Washington Post newspaper. A reporter and videographer followed me around on the investigation.  NOTE: The Book Escape relocated its business into another building in September 2020, so the ghost will have new tenants.
My first case with IGT is included in this book!

Enjoyed the Documentary: Afraid of Nothing by Producer Bob Heske

Recently I  enjoyed the documentary called "Afraid of Nothing" by director Bob Heske. This isa documentary on the Paranormal and it covers many aspects of the paranormal, even delving deep into science! My review is below.

MY REVIEW: There's a lot to the Paranormal!

Really really enjoyed this documentary on the paranormal. It was extremely well done.and set up to address certain topics within the field. It featured experts in different fields from an EVP specialist who had some wild personal experiences. to mediums and scientists. The quantum physics was mind-boggling to hear about, and the experiences were amazing. It's important to understand that there are a lot of facets to the paranormal. It's not just Earth-bound ghosts. This is well-worth a watch and the film-makers paranormal podcasts are wonderful.

ABOUT THE FILM:  100 billion souls have passed before us. Where do they go? This award-winning experimental documentary explores life and the afterlife with a quantum and paranormal lens. AFRAID OF NOTHING explores life and the afterlife through the lens of a shaman, psychic, healer, seeker, witch and other awakened individuals.

Paredolia- What is it? Am I really seeing something Paranormal?

One part of paranormal investigating is debunking things. One aspect of debunking is about disproving something that someone sees in a design or background. We do that when others do not see the image and / or there are no temperature changes, electrical discharges, or a medium doesn't sense anything.

There has to be some back up. What's interesting is that when you look at something, and someone tells you what they've seen, you can also envision the object there. Does that mean it's there? No.
  It's likely  Paredolia.

man on horseback?

What's Paredolia? It's a psychological phenomenon involving a stimulus (an image or a sound) wherein the mind perceives a familiar pattern of something where none actually exists.

Common examples are perceived images of animals, faces, or objects in cloud formations, the "man in the moon", the "moon rabbit", and hidden messages within recorded music played in reverse or at higher- or lower-than-normal speeds.

My friend Scott in Ohio found an article and photo of a graveyard, where a person said he sees a man on a horse.
Well, I didn't see it until I read the headline, and then I could "kind of" see it. I was making out an outline of what I think a man on a horse looks like in my mind while looking at the photo. So, no, I don't think there was a ghost in the photo. (Link to the story: http://news.yahoo.com/ghost-on-horseback-captured-in-chilling-graveyard-104358862.html?nf=1)

Seeing a face in a bathtub

However, that doesn't mean that ghosts don't appear in photos. We have lots of proof that they do- both in visible pictures and infrared pictures.

So, next time you look up in the sky and you see an "elephant" in the clouds, it's not the ghost of an elephant, but paredolia. Just use discretion!

Meet the Alleyway Ghost and More in a new book "Case Files of Inspired Ghost Tracking"

A new book called "Case Files of Inspired Ghost Tracking," by best-selling paranormal author Rob Gutro takes readers on paranormal investigations into private and historic homes where ghosts were traumatizing families.
You'll read about the Alleyway Ghost in the pages of Case Files. You'll learn why he's there and why he died there, just as we did when the paranormal investigators met him in the alleyway behind a house in the Baltimore area. Rob even sketched him out and got confirmation from the homeowner that that was indeed the ghost they saw walking around in their house!
Rob, a medium in the Inspired Ghost Tracking paranormal group, announced the release of his seventh paranormal book that brings readers along on investigations and reveals some bizarre and shocking things the group found and how they helped the ghosts and families.
TO BUY ON AMAZON: https://tinyurl.com/yba6ofbj

"When earthbound ghosts have traumatized families in their own homes, Inspired Ghost Tracking (IGT) of Maryland has gone in to cross them over," Gutro said. "Every case is different, too. Some have had earthbound ghosts that were friendly, others were not. IGT experienced a lot of bad energies that caused people to become physically sick or mentally traumatized. IGT investigators had to figure who, what, when and why things were happening, to finally bring peace to the living and the dead."

In this collection of IGT cases, you’ll read about the "Burned Ghost," ghosts of two different time periods in one home, dark things that Ouija boards brought into homes, a very haunted Maryland mansion, many ghosts of Baltimore’s Federal Hill, a ghostly attachment, a Steelworker’s ghost, poltergeist activity, the famous IGT “Double Murder Ghost Investigation” and many more.

You'll find answers to questions like why ghosts choose to stay in a place, the differences and similarities between ghosts and spirits, why energy is the key to the paranormal and much more.

Although Rob has become known as a "Pet Medium" through the success of his best-selling books "Pets and the Afterlife" and "Pets and the Afterlife 2," he also connects with human earthbound ghosts and spirits.

Gutro is the first in the paranormal field to make the distinction between earthbound ghosts and spirits who have crossed over. Rob has three books about his experience with human ghosts and spirits, called "Ghosts and Spirits," "Lessons Learned from Talking to the Dead," and "Ghosts of England on a Medium's Vacation," and most recently, "Kindred Spirits: How a Medium Befriended a Spirit."

Rob Gutro has been featured in the Washington Post and nationally syndicated radio programs like "Coast to Coast AM." Rob is a volunteer with Dachshund and Weimaraner rescues and gives fundraising lectures for animal rescues around the U.S., teaching grieving pet parents how pets communicate from the afterlife.

Paranormal Q&A: How do spirits exist and can they see us?

Each week, I'll answer a question about the paranormal, whether a general question, or one about human or animal ghosts (Earthbound) or spirits (crossed over). Here's this week's question:

Q: How do spirits exist and can they see us? Are they energized life forms, and if so, can this be detected by fluctuations in physical fields or sensing technology of some sort?

A: After our physical bodies die, the energy within couples with our memories, personality and knowledge. We make a choice to stay Earthbound at a fixed location - what I call a ghost, or cross over and join the energies of the universe- which I call a spirit.

Think of spirits as photons of light - so yes, they can see us. In the paranormal field we use electromagnetic field detectors - similar to what an electrician uses to detect an electrical current.

My Experiences About Pets and Reincarnation: Why They Don't Come Back Immediately in other animals

Recently I received an email from someone who had lost their dog. She had been to other mediums and a few told her that if she adopts another dog, her deceased dog's spirit would reincarnate into that other dog. That is absolutely not my experience, and I think it's misleading. Here's why.
People have often asked me if a pet can reincarnate as another dog or cat within this lifetime. The answer is usually "no."" - but they come back with us in our next lifetime. That is my experience with talking to pets on the other side. They usually wait for us until it's our time.

If another medium gets a different message from a pet, that particular pet may be in a hurry to come back while a person is still alive but it doesn't make sense to me because pets in spirit KNOW they can still be around us, give us signs to confirm that, and even use human spirits on the other side to do so.

My communications with thousands of pets in Spirit:  For the most part, pets do not come back in the body of another dog or cat in our lifetime. They wait for us on the other side. Further, Some even act as spirit guides for us. And, in addition, they lead us to our next pet and they help train them

Why immediate reincarnation doesn't make sense:  That would be like a child of humans dying of cancer and coming back as another child immediately - that doesn't happen. Our children in this lifetime are different souls. Even those who may have been miscarried. That soul is different from the soul of the child that you may have given birth to after the miscarriage.  In addition, souls stay on the other side and wait for us when it's OUR TIME to transition.

The bottom line here is that in terms of mediums, not everyone is the same. Further, no one here has all the answers. We can only convey what spirit tells us.

Why it isn't helpful to say that someone reincarnates in this lifetime: We don't know the answers. Again, not an exact science.  Further, I believe that telling people that their pet quickly reincarnates and finds their pet parent again in this life also gives people false hopes that their dog or cat has suddenly "come back to life in a different form."
I guess I could understand someone saying that to try and comfort someone in their grief, but I would never mislead anyone in thinking that - because it's definitely not my experience with the thousands of animals who have communicated with me.
I actually hoped my puppy Buzz would come back, but of course he didn't. Instead he is one of my spirit guides that enables me to communicate with animals on the other side. So, there's no right answer, but this is MY experience.

If you want to read about my experiences and the messages I've received from Pets on the other side, my books "Pets and the Afterlife" and "Pets and the Afterlife 2" are available on Amazon.com and both under $10 (to make it affordable to all).

Great Children's book: That Monster on the Block by Sue Ganz-Schmitt

Recently I was fortunate to befriend Sue Ganz-Schmitt, an author who writes amazing Children's books and just enjoyed her book "That Monster on the Block." (Perfect timing with Halloween coming up, although it's not about Halloween, but it does have monsters in it!)
This is a MUST for all children. It teaches that although we are different, we should accept and befriend each other. As I read this, I thought, "when we moved here to my neighborhood, there were a couple of monsters on our block, too, but we won them over." The great story and the characters are brought to life by wonderful illustrations from Luke Flowers, too. Every child should read this book and learn from it. I think adults could learn a lot from it, too. 5 of 5 stars!

ABOUT THE BOOK: Monster is excited to see what kind of creature will move into Vampire’s old house on the block. He even starts practicing his welcome growl for the new neighbor. But when the moving truck pulls up, it’s not a greedy goblin, an ogre, or a dastardly dragon that steps out. Instead, it’s something even more terrifying than Monster could have imagined! Monster quickly rallies the other neighbors to unite against the new guy on the block. But what if the new neighbor isn’t exactly as bad as Monster thinks? Join Monster as he confronts his fears in this charming and lighthearted look at what it means to accept others who are different from us

Paranormal Q&A: How much do you charge for your work? How advanced would you say that your work is?

Each week, I'll answer a question about the paranormal, whether a general question, or one about human or animal ghosts (Earthbound) or spirits (crossed over). Here's this week's question:
Q: How much do you charge for your work? How advanced would you say that your work is?

A: I don't charge anything. However, if people want a reading, I would ask that they purchase a book to learn from it!  I also use any profits to travel to animal rescues in the U.S. on weekends to give fundraising lectures on how pets communicate from spirit.

I wrote books to teach people how to find the signs from their loved ones (people and pets) so they don't need a medium.  I'm also a meteorologist full time, so that's how I make my living. If I get  a message for someone, I pass it along at no cost. - I call myself a "medium rare" because I don't give in depth personal readings. That requires a lot of concentration and meditation, and my mind is always going! I can recommend my friend Ruth Larkin, the Beantown Medium, for great in-depth personal readings.

Thanks to ARLNH for a great Virtual "Pets and the Afterlife" Event Yesterday!

Yesterday, I did a virtual fundraiser for the Animal Rescue League of New Hampshire (ARLNH), and talked about how pets communicate from the afterlife. My sincere thanks to Charlotte Williams who  manages the rescue, for hosting me for the third year in a row (although this one was not in person because of the pandemic).

I'm grateful to the people who joined the event. All registration fees were donated to the rescue (and the rescue is full, so they need the financial assistance).  The session ran for about 90 minutes and many of the participants had their own stories of experiences and messages from their pets in spirit. It was moving and very healing.

My thanks to everyone who participated, and for those who shared their stories. I hope the session has helped ease the grief that you're working through after the loss of your furkids. Hopefully next year, I'll be able to return in person. Meanwhile if you would like to read my "Pets and the Afterllife" 1 and 2 books, they're on Amazon.com and under $10.00 (paper) $3.99 ebook.

Haunted Dogtown, Cape Ann, Massachusetts

There are a lot of haunted places in Massachusetts, and the Patriot Ledger newspaper spotlights them
each month. Here are the hauntings of Dogtown, Cape Ann, Massachusetts.

Once a somewhat prosperous inland settlement on Cape Ann in the 1600s, with nearly 100 families and plenty of pasture, the tides of war were not kind to this village north of Gloucester. First, the Revolutionary War brought a new economic boom around fishing and other marine industries, sending people past the village and to coastal Gloucester. Then, the War of 1812 took the rest of the farmers still living there, creating a perfect place for pirates and other unsavory types to hide out away from the busier cities like Rockport.

After the war, the village’s seedy reputation stuck. At one point, it was reportedly inhabited by witches, including Thomazine “Tammy” Younger, known as the “Queen of the Witches,” who would stand in the road and intimidate travelers as they passed by.

Eventually even the unsavory residents moved elsewhere — often leaving their pets behind to turn feral, hence the name “Dogtown” — and the last buildings were demolished in 1845. Now, the area is a public trust and open to hikers — just keep an eye out for the numerous cellar holes that still dot the land, as well as the 36 boulder carvings commissioned by Roger Babson sporting such ominous phrases as, “When work stops, values decay.”

FROM THE BOOK OF DOGTOWN - According to the book Dogtown: Death and Enchantment in a New England Ghost Town it was during this time that the village acquired its name “Dogtown,” either from the plethora of dogs some of the village women used for protection or from the low-level inhabitants it attracted:
“In the 1890s, the area and its named piqued the interest of Gloucester Daily Times editor Charles E. Mann, who documented its history and interviewed ‘sweet-faced old ladies’ and ‘men with whitened locks’ to produce a slender little volume titled In the Heart of Cape Ann or the Story of Dogtown. ‘The name Dogtown,’ Mann wrote, ‘…came from the canines kept by the so-called ‘widows’ of the place, when the evil days came that saw their natural protectors either in their graves or buried beneath the ocean.’ But other than this explanation there are no stories about dogs in this place. What changed the Commons Settlement to Dogtown was the people: women who dressed like men, men who did housework, alleged witches, and former slaves, who lived, according to what Roger W. Babson called ‘Gypsy Ways.’”

Imagine Solving the Mystery of Your Death- This Spirit Did- in the book "Kindred Spirits" by Rob Gutro

It's uncommon for a medium really get know a spirit so well that the living person considers the spirit a best friend. But that's exactly what happened to medium and paranormal investigator Rob Gutro. Gutro, best-selling Amazon.com paranormal author, medium and paranormal investigator recently published his story "Kindred Spirits: When a Medium Befriends a Spirit."  In fact, the spirit of Ed helped solve the mystery of his own death.
TO BUY ON AMAZON: https://tinyurl.com/y9an9jo2

When Rob met his partner Tom in 2005, Ed's spirit came along for the ride. Tom knew Ed but Rob never met him since Ed died in 1996. Over the last 14 years, Ed has communicated with Rob so much, that he now considers Ed a good friend.

Now, Ed often communicates to Rob and has revealed his sense of humor, his heart, and helped solved the mystery of his passing. Ed's "Spirit Treasure Hunt" showed his family he's with them, too. Ed even sent a look-alike to rescue Rob during a vacation in England. As you read about this special spirit named Ed and his sometimes funny communications, you'll learn signs your loved ones send. This book will teach you how to be more aware of messages from your loved ones in spirit.

"Being a friend with Ed in spirit is like having a friend who lives in another state," Gutro said in describing his relationship with Ed's spirit.

Although Rob has become known as a "Pet Medium" through the success of his books "Pets and the Afterlife" and "Pets and the Afterlife 2," he also connects with human Earthbound ghosts and spirits.

He is the first in the paranormal field to make the distinction between earthbound ghosts and spirits who have crossed over. Rob has three books about his experience with human ghosts and spirits, called "Ghosts and Spirits," "Lessons Learned from Talking to the Dead," and "Ghosts of England on a Medium's Vacation," the latter of which was published last year.

Archaeology: Bronze Age tradition of keeping human remains uncovered

Archaeologists have discovered that ancient peoples had other ideas for the remains of their relatives, than burying them. ...

Bronze Age tradition of keeping human remains uncovered

An "inconceivably macabre" tradition of keeping human remains as relics during the Bronze Age has been discovered by researchers.
The discovery by University of Bristol archaeologists revealed how the dead were commemorated 4,500 years ago.
In one case, a human thigh bone found in a grave near Stonehenge had been crafted into a musical instrument.
The findings were made using radiocarbon dating and X-ray scanning techniques.
Dr Thomas Booth, from the university, said: "Even in modern secular societies, human remains are seen as particularly powerful objects, and this seems to hold true for people of the Bronze Age.
"However, they treated and interacted with the dead in ways which are inconceivably macabre to us today."

Image captionThe discovery was made in Wilsford, near Stonehenge
In the discovery made in Wilsford, near Stonehenge, the carved and polished artefact was found with other items, including stone and bronze axes, a bone plate and a tusk.
"Although fragments of human bone were included as grave goods with the dead, they were also kept in the homes of the living, buried under floors and even placed on display," said Professor Joanna Brück.
"This suggests that Bronze Age people did not view human remains with the sense of horror or disgust that we might feel today."
Researchers said the findings revealed human remains of those within living memory were regularly kept and circulated amongst the living.
The team also used micro-computed tomography at the Natural History Museum to look at microscopic changes to the bone produced by bacteria, to learn how the body was treated while it was decomposing.
