Part 2: Paranormal Q&A With Rob Gutro, Medium

 Here are some questions I received lately about various paranormal topics, and my responses based on my experiences:

3) What about hauntings in places below ground which have little to no human involvement that are normally associated with hauntings (deaths, suffering, murder etc.). Some seem to have supercharged paranormal activity. Mines, cave systems, tunnels, and even military bunkers.

A: Hauntings do take place in tunnels, etc. but they are also places where people or animals lived or died.  All it takes is one person who worked in or visited a place, or who died accidentally or was murdered in a place, to haunt it.

 

4)  If we think about the other side of the coin, what are the most haunted 'high' places? There don't seem to be anywhere as many. Spiritualistic traditions worldwide seem to associate being higher up with spiritual clarity, such as yogis, monks and other meditation practitioners purposefully seeking physically higher and more difficult to access locations such as mountains to practice meditation.

 A: Since spirits don't "haunt" or stay in one place, that explains why there are no "good haunts by spirit." Spirits come and go and never stay in a fixed position, because they continually stay in the energies that flow through the universe.

Haunted U.K.: The Witches of Pendle, Lancashire

 The United Kingdom has some of the most haunted sites. National Geographic published an article highlighting some of them and this is one in that series.   I encountered many ghosts in England, too, and you can read about them in my book "Ghosts of England on a Medium's Vacation," available on Amazon.  Here's this week's UK haunting:

Nowhere in England is more synonymous with witches than this corner of the North East. In 1612, 12 locals were charged with murder by witchcraft, with 10 of them sent to the gallows, one found not guilty and another dying in prison. The trials are noted as being recorded in remarkable detail by the court clerk. Want to follow in their fateful footsteps? The Walking with Witches Trail passes through the area (no broomstick required), taking in key sites, including churches, a quarry and the village of Roughlee, where a lonely statue of accused witch Alice Nutter stands.

The Pendle witch trials of 1612 were some of the most well-known in British history. Alice Nutter was one of the accused, and visitors can follow in her footsteps on a themed trail through the Lancashire countryside. A statue of the young woman stands in the village of Roughlee.

Part 1: Some Paranormal Q&A With Rob Gutro, Medium

Here are some questions I received lately about various paranormal topics, and my responses based on my experiences:

1)  Could there be a relationship between earth's topography and the relative density of what we call the Astral plane?  

A: There could be, but it's never been studied before and hauntings most often happen where people live (which is most usually not on top of mountains).   

   On a related note,  I do know that some people and cultures have cited "ley lines," that is, lines that mark "earth energies" where cultures have built structures. It's not widely accepted though. -  There's also Earth's magnetic field to consider, but the energies are mostly at the poles, so that would not lend itself to "powering paranormal activity" in the mid-latitudes. 

2) Water always runs to the lowest point. Also, there seems to be a universal recognition of the lowest parts of a building (cellars, basements, tunnels) as either being most active, OR the residence of the densest/darkest energies.. what people would usually call the most 'evil' spirits.

A:  True about water, but I've found that hauntings in buildings can be on any floor (although Hollywood films usually make basements more frightening - either those or attics!)  - Ghosts usually haunt spaces they are most familiar with, so I usually find them on the first or 2nd floors of structures/homes.

With My Appreciation

 Providing readings from pets to their grieving parents is an amazing and emotional thing for me. What's also amazing are the parents of the pets and their thoughtfulness and kindness to me. All I ask for is the small fee for the reading, and my real reward is confirmation from the pet parents. 

   One couple in the U.S. whose dog provided multiple amazing signs, was very appreciative and overly generous and it choked me up. A woman in Singapore for whom I did a reading made a donation to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in memory of my dog, Dolly who passed in 2020 (and who is on the cover of my Pets and the Afterlife 3 book: Messages from Spirit Dogs).  

  These thoughtful and generous gestures have brought tears to my eyes. Thank you all for your support and kindness. You have all become the examples of unconditional love that our pets teach us to be. 

 

Wow! My New Book achieved "Amazon Best-seller status" : Ghosts and Spirits:Explained

On the first day of last month (October), I published my latest book - explaining the differences and similarities between Earthbound ghosts and spirits (who have crossed over). I was honored when I saw it reached "Amazon best-seller status" that first week. 

WHAT MAKES A BEST-SELLER?  Best-seller status on Amazon is any book that achieves a ranking within the top 100 of any category. "Ghosts and Spirits: Explained," reached #59 under the "New Age Channeling" category under Kindle (e-books) and did pretty respectably in several other categories. 

BACKGROUND ON THE BOOK: Back in 2009, I published my first book called "Ghosts and Spirits: Insights from a Medium." It was when I was first starting to use my abilities and developed a foundational understanding. In 2021, I took that book out of print, because it needed a lot of Updating based on the last 12 years of what I've learned. So, the new book contains some cool stories, (like how my dad helped me prove to my family that his spirit attended his own funeral, and how I accidentally lived in a haunted house), and lots and lots of Paranormal Questions and Answers; a more in-depth understanding of how Energy is the foundation of the paranormal and why it's so important to both entities. This beautiful estate dates back to 1852 and holds a great deal of history, beauty and hauntings. This home sits on one of Maryland's earliest land-grant properties, with direct connections to the Star-Spangled Banner. It is also home to the third oldest beech tree in the state. In October 2021, IGT Mediums Troy, Rob and Tom visited the manor and encountered several of the many ghosts who dwell there, even crossing one over at the time. Winn Brewer and Josh Clark, managers of this historic B and B will share some experiences and Troy and Rob will discuss highlights of the investigation. This property previously had 2 paranormal groups (without mediums) investigate.

One of the ways our pets in spirit let us know they are around is to lead us to another dog that resembles them. That's exactly what happened when we took a vacation in Greece in Sept. 2021.

One of the islands we visited was Santorini.  We visited the picturesque town of Oia which is famous for "cave houses" which are white buildings with brilliant blue church rooftops. During the one hour we walked around in the maze of streets filled with shops, the heat index was again over 100 degrees Fahrenheit /37.7 degrees Celsius, and it was a sunny day - truly a "dog day of summer."  

Being dog dads, we really missed our two dogs at home, and had only seen a few dogs (maybe 2) during our trip.

While getting lost in the maze of tiny alleyways of shops, we just "happened" to walk by a dress shop where we saw a little red, smooth, dachshund mix laying in a comfy bed in the doorway of a dress shop. He also had a little stuffed lamb toy, just like our kids have. 

   Further, he resembled our dog Sprite (who passed in 2013) who was also a red, smooth Dachshund mix! 

  That told us that Sprite was with us on vacation! 

   You never know when a loved one is going to show up and lead you to someone that looks like them - That's one way spirits tell us they are with us.  

   As it turned out, the little dog sat there only a few minutes and went back inside because of the volume of tourists walking by. So, we walked by at the right time to get a good glimpse of him. That's not a coincidence. That was Sprite's doing! 

 Just seeing him in the midst of the tourist chaos made our day.

Haunted Trails - Iron Goat Trail, Washington

This is an installment of Haunted Trails that were covered from the Travel Channel.

Iron Goat Trail, Washington

The Iron Goat Trail in Stevens Pass in the Cascades was the site of one of the worst railroad accidents in U.S. history. In 1910 an avalanche knocked two trains off the tracks while they were snowed in at the Wellington depot, killing almost 100 people. After the accident the Great Northern Railroad abandoned the tracks and built new routes and tunnels. The abandoned tunnels and snowsheds still exist on the trail, and hikers share tales of hearing voices, screams and sounds around the crash site of Tye Creek in the (now ghost town) of Wellington. However, hikers aren’t allowed on the trail at night, and under no circumstances should anyone enter the tunnels, which are all in danger of collapse—if they haven’t already.

The Hauntings of England's Windsor Castle

 There are a lot of haunted places in the United Kingdom and I wrote a book about my experiences with all of the ghosts I met there. You can read about my encounters with the ghosts there in my book "Ghosts of England on a Medium's Vacation," available on Amazon.   GetReadingUK on-line spotlighted a couple of haunted places and this one I did visit.. and there were some weird things going on. If it’s royal ghosts you’re after, then we have something for you too.

Windsor Castle has been home to Kings and Queens for hundreds of years.

King Henry VIII was buried in the grounds of the castle and many say they have seen his ghost pacing around while groaning and members of staff claim they have seen his ghost haunting the deanery cloisters.

The Deanery is also supposedly haunted by a the spirit of a young boy who screams: “I don’t want to go riding today!”, phantom footsteps heard nearby have also been attributed to him.

Members of the Royal family have even acknowledged the existence of Queen Elizabeth I in the Royal Library. Many claim to have heard her high heels on the bare floor boards and seen the figure dressed in black pass through walls.

The United Kingdom's Haunted "Ostrich" Inn

There are a lot of haunted places in the United Kingdom. I also had the pleasure of visiting England and you can read about my encounters with the ghosts there in my book "Ghosts of England on a Medium's Vacation," available on Amazon.   GetReadingUK on-line spotlighted a couple of haunted places I didn't get to, though, and here's one of them:

The Ostrich Inn

The inn on High Street in Slough was only recently renovated, but the ghoulish history lives on.

The 12th-century inn is regularly attended by drinkers and diners, but they’re not the only ones.

More than 60 people have been reportedly killed in the inn, many of whom were slaughtered in their sleep by former inn keeper Jarman and his wife in the 17th century.

It is said that the murderous couple put trap doors in the floor boards and tipped rich guests into a vat of boiling liquid while they slept.

Jarman and his wife would then steal their money and sell their horses.

The murderous couple were eventually hung for robbery and murder, but that hasn’t stopped them visiting. Employees and visitors have reported sudden temperature drops, strange noises, voices and even sightings of ghostly figures.

Guests have reported numerous sightings of ghostly fingers on the top floor of the inn.

Pet Spirits Influence Things in Nature to send signs - Read Pets and the Afterlife

Spirits of dogs, cats and other domesticated pets can influence things in nature to give you a sign of their presence. Insects and birds can display really odd behavior at certain times (not every time) whenever you may be thinking of a spirit, so check the date. Note the behavior. Pet parents like me think about and mourn the loss of their pets often. Sometimes the grief feels inconsolable. One way to work through that grief is to understand that our pets are around us in spirit from time to time and visit us. You just need to be able to recognize those signs. In my two books I explain many of the ways that pets communicate with the living, to convey their presence. 
   
I've received emails from people around the world who have confirmed signs from their pets and have received comfort knowing their pets are very much around in spirit from time to time.
