Getting a Message Part 3: Music/Words

Spirits love to use television, radio and music as a means to communicate with us. Spirits and ghosts are both made up of energy and their personalities and memories. As energy, they have the ability to tune into electricity and radio/tv waves and they can manipulate it. On the other side, spirits would also know what radio station is playing what song, so they can influence you to turn a certain radio station on at a certain time, to hear a song that will remind you of them.
The same thing goes for television. You may walk into your living room and d
ecide to see what's on television, and hit the remote to pick a channel. The channel may be showing a program or actor that they loved when they were on the physical plane. That's because they're influencing you to turn on the TV at that particular time, to send you a message that they're with you.
Music is especially healing and a great means for spirits to communicate. When my puppy Buzz passed, I came into the house after the terrible accident that took his life and I heard Alan Jackson's song "(My heart is as empty as a) Monday Morning Church." It was the song of a man singing about the loss of the love of his life. That was no coincidence. It was a message from Buzz.
So, pay attention to music, what's being said on TV or on the radio whenever you're inspired to turn them on... or if you put a CD in your car and the song reminds you of someone who passed... know they are there with you.

My note to Anyone Whose Loved one is Failing

I wrote this note to a friend whose mother is dying in a hospital, and please share it with anyone you know who is facing the same situation. Hopefully it will bring them comfort.
It seems that December, January and the first couple of days of February have been filled with notes of people passing.  - Rob

I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. My mom just passed on Dec. 29. I wanted to remind you that even though she's failing, she's still going to be around you. My mom gave signs when she was in a coma (a musical sign) that it was her time. She gave me signs and messages after she passed, too.
Our bodies are just a physical shell for our souls and spirit and they wear down, but our spirit doesn't. I read your note about hoping your mom doesn't have pain. When my partner and I finally got to Boston (from Maryland) and saw my mom, the hardest thing was telling her it was okay to pass, because I didn't want to see her suffer anymore (she was in a coma and had little chance of any recovery- other than living with 100% assistance and a feeding tube- which she would never want). So, I told her it was okay to cross over, and felt my dad and other (late) relatives spirits in the room. She crossed the next day.
You have shown your mom great love and given her the best gift-  permission to go on to the next stage of life.
Saying "goodbye" isn't really a "goodbye," because our loved ones spirits live on around us, help us, watch over us, guide us and protects us a lot easier than they did when they were living in a physical body. We're just not going to see their physical bodies anymore, but we will feel them around us. It's just the transition that is difficult, but over time you'll realize they're still with you.
 Love and hugs, Rob

Getting a Message Part 2: Being Creative

Spirits will influence us to do things. Sometimes we'll do things we don't usually think of, and that may be the mark of a guiding hand from the other side. For example, if you're sitting listening to a lecture and you're doodling, you may draw a ship. If you happen to next look at a calendar, you may realize that your grandma went on a cruise a couple of years ago on this date. That would mean that she's influencing you to draw a ship because she's near you. There is no such thing as a coincidence.
If you're inspired to write to someone out of the blue, it may be because some spirit attached to the person you decide to write to has influenced you. The spirit could influence you to write to their loved one because they need to hear from someone that day.
Spirit may move you to pick up a box of old photos and dig them out to scan and put on your computer (how many of us keep saying we'll do that!?). Then, you find a photo of your Aunt Tillie and Uncle Richard and memories come flooding in. They inspired you to go to the box and find the picture to scan them in!
So, writing, drawing, baking, cooking, crafting, etc. can all be suggestions from spirit telling us they're around.

Great Ghost Investigation and an Amazing Budding Medium

Rob, Kyle, Tom
I participated in a great investigation recently with the Inspired Ghost Tracking Group and  I got to take along a budding medium named Kyle who really has an amazing gift.
He knew he had an ability but had never used it on a ghost investigation. This was his first investigation and he was more than ready for it.  He confirmed things that Ronda, Tom and I were sensing. He got names that matched former residents in the house. He saw the same female ghost depart a room when I did.

Rob and Ronda did Q&As
When we investigate a house, the mediums will go in first to see what they get, and we (the mediums) are not given any information. When we entered the house, we stayed in another room as the docent filled in the rest of the Inspired staff about the house's history and residents.
The mediums will write down things that they get as they go from room to room, and I'll even sketch out things, and people that I see still dwelling in the home as ghosts. I did sketch an infant as I saw the infant in the home.
A ghostly woman was laying on this bed
I also saw a lady in black and received a number of messages from her. We were able to identify her through a specific piece of jewelry she showed me. We later found a painting of her wearing that particular piece of jewelry elsewhere in the house (In a room we had not yet entered)! I also saw the woman laying on a bed as we entered a room (which we later learned she was known to dwell in as a ghost).
There were also several other children's ghosts in the home, and Kyle, Tom and I were able to get names, ages, and more. I learned how they passed, too, because they shared the symptoms of their illness with me.
Kyle identified a young boy named Tommy (whom we confirmed lived in the home), and he and Tom saw the boy peering around corners from time to time. At one point, I heard the boy giggle and I chased him as he ran upstairs, across the house, and downstairs to the second floor where he disappeared. The various children's ghosts told several of us that they loved playing hide and seek in the home.

Another thing that I do during an investigation is channel a ghost. That involves Ronda asking me questions as I meditate and let the ghost provide answers through me. Ronda, Tom, Kyle and I sat in a circle and a young girl came through to me, providing answers and insight into who she was and why she was there.
This was an amazing first session for Kyle, who will continue developing his abilities, so he can help ghosts cross over. It's also exciting to me to help mentor him with the staff of Inspired Ghost Tracking.
In a later blog, I'll likely provide more information about the location, ghosts, and proof after obtaining permissions. I felt it important to share this to give you an idea how investigations are conducted, and that we should work with budding mediums, who need to learn to trust the messages they receive.

Getting a Message Part 1: Concentration

This is Part 1 in a 7 Part series of how to "get messages" from those on the other side. I hope you find this information helpful, and please share with me any questions! You can email me at Rgutro@gmail.com.

Whenever I give talks or go on investigations with Inspired Ghost Tracking (the group I belong to as a medium on staff), I get questions about the environment in which I receive the messages. People ask if I can get messages when its loud and busy or mostly quiet. Mostly the messages come through when it's quiet (although some boisterous spirits with strong personalities can come through in crowds or loud environments). I mostly get messages from ghosts or spirits whenever I find myself relaxed (I'm usually relaxed on an investigation, too).

blot out your surroundings
Not being one to meditate, I actually find that my mind is clear and I'm relaxed while doing certain activities, as you likely do. Next time you're doing one of the following things, listen closely and see if you hear something out of the ordinary, like music or a voice, or get a thought in your head that doesn't seem to be anything you would think of - then you're likely getting  a message from a ghost or spirit.
These are the places that I get messages and relax:
1) driving
2) in front of the computer
3) in the shower or bath
4) laying in bed trying to go to sleep with my eyes closed
5) if the environment is quiet
Of course, if you can meditate, do it!  Go put to pandora.com and type in "relaxation channel." That will help soothe you.  Then focus. Focus on your heartbeat and block the thoughts of whatever is happening in your world out. Picture a flower in the center of your vision and focus on it. Then listen. See what messages you pick up.
