Spirits will influence us to do things. Sometimes we'll do things we don't usually think of, and that may be the mark of a guiding hand from the other side. For example, if you're sitting listening to a lecture and you're doodling, you may draw a ship. If you happen to next look at a calendar, you may realize that your grandma went on a cruise a couple of years ago on this date. That would mean that she's influencing you to draw a ship because she's near you. There is no such thing as a coincidence.

If you're inspired to write to someone out of the blue, it may be because some spirit attached to the person you decide to write to has influenced you. The spirit could influence you to write to their loved one because they need to hear from someone that day.
Spirit may move you to pick up a box of old photos and dig them out to scan and put on your computer (how many of us keep saying we'll do that!?). Then, you find a photo of your Aunt Tillie and Uncle Richard and memories come flooding in. They inspired you to go to the box and find the picture to scan them in!
So, writing, drawing, baking, cooking, crafting, etc. can all be suggestions from spirit telling us they're around.
