an explanation, and how they help promote healing after losing a furry family member.
“Pets
and the Afterlife” Books Bring Comfort to Grieving Pet Parents
The
love we share with our pets never dies, and there's proof that our pets do
communicate with us from the other side, just as people do who pass. Rob Gutro,
a scientist, medium, author and paranormal investigator has had many experiences
with ghosts and spirits of both pets and people. He has published two
best-selling books about how pets communicate from the afterlife, and has
become known as a pet medium. He lectures and does fundraisers for animal
rescues where he teaches people how to recognize signs from their pets in
spirit.
Rob
said, “Pet parents like me think about and mourn the loss of their pets often.
Every day I miss my dogs Franklin, Buzz and Sprite.” Why do we mourn the
passing our pets as we would the passing of a person? Because we brought them
up as we bring up human children. We taught them how to go to the bathroom,
bathed them, groomed them, took them to (obedience) school and was excited at
their graduation, watch them interact with others, take them to the doctor when
they're sick, play with them, watch them make friends, learn and love. They
share with us love, anger, fear, and excitement, just like human children do.
Since
Rob is a scientist (meteorologist) in his career job, he uses energy as the
foundation of his explanations for spirit communication. He also references Dr.
Stanley Coren, a doctor of veterinary medicine and renowned author, who has tested
dogs and proved many have the intelligence of a 3 to 5 year old child. Rob
explains how dogs and cats learn on many different levels, which enables them,
as spirits, to communicate with the living.
“I
tell people that the only difference between human children and our pets is
that our dogs and cats don't have careers, marry someone we don't care for, and
move out! To me, my dogs are my children as I will not have human children. I
am responsible for feeding, caring, loving, exercising, playing with and
keeping them healthy. Unfortunately, because dogs and cats generally don’t live
often longer than 15 years, that means we have to make the decision to help
them achieve a peaceful final rest.”
Rob’s
books explain many of the ways that pets provide their parents messages to let
them know their spirits are still very much around. It is through recognition
of these signs that grieving pet parents can take solace and help work through
their grief.
Some
of the ways that pets can give us messages include noises, like a bark or a
meow, or hearing their nails walk across the floor. Some cat parents have
reported their cat's spirit has jumped on their beds and curled up as they did
in the physical form. Spirits can also manipulate things in nature like birds,
butterflies, feathers, etc. on special dates. There are many other ways spirits communicate,
and you’ll learn of them in Rob’s books. Human spirits will also help them with
more complicated messages.
Rob
wrote the books "Pets and the Afterlife" and "Pets and the Afterlife
2" to bring comfort to people (like himself) who lost a pet. As a scientist, it was important to receive
confirmations of the messages he got from spirit pets, and those are included.
The books also include amazing new scientific studies that prove our pets have
emotions and personalities. There's also science behind why living pets can
sense entities.
