Instead of the regularly scheduled "Friday Night Ghost Frights" video, I wanted to share another paranormal YouTube program done by my friend and Ghostorian Mike Ricksecker. He hosts "Edge of the Rabbit Hole" (which I've had the pleasure of appearing on) and now "Inside The Upside Down." This episode was about DNA,Reincarnation And Past Lives. 
   It runs for a little more than 1 hour and it was fascinating. I totally agree that DNA is part of supernatural. I've found that my ability as a medium has been handed down from my mother's side of the family. My mom had it, her dad and his sister had it. Now I've got it!

Q&A: Smoke Seen After Spreading Ashes

In this week's Q&A, a reader sent me a question about an observation of smoke generated after spreading ashes. As a paranormal investigator (and a scientist), the first thing we do is try to debunk the occurrence and find physical explanations. 

Q: When my Aunt spread my grandfather ashes, 3 minutes later I notice white smoke coming from the ground that was a foot away from the spreading of the ashes...... Could that have be his spirit???

 A: It could be a number of things. 
1) moisture on the ground scattered as a result of dropping something on it 
2) dust stirred up from dropping something on it. 
3) OR it could have been your grandfather's spirit coming back to visit to thank her for scattering his ashes as he requested. - If you felt your grandfather's presence at the time, he could have generated the white smoke, or it could be ectoplasm- energy from spirit.

  Joy says: Today Spirit seems to be indicating that there are some issues that are lurking in the shadows that may be coming out to be addressed. Secrets never stay secret forever. The more you try to keep them hidden, the more they begin to show up making noise and attracting attention. It is time to come clean. The ghost I encountered wound up being in my room, and he let me know he was there. When I returned from vacation I was able to solve the mystery of his identity and figure out why he is there.

it was amazing

I have had a few dogs since I was a kid that have crossed the rainbow bridge. Several times I have thought they have visited me, including partial apparitions. After reading PETS IN THE AFTERLIFE I am even more convinced they have visited me and more hopeful I will see them again. Also, I have heard arguments on both sides of seeing pets in afterlife or even if there is an afterlife for any of us. One Bible verse in Revelations makes the argument for me. When Christ returns, how does he return. You got it, on a horse. I guess there must be some stables there.

Q&A: Cat Scared of Room with Ashes

In today's blog, I'm featuring a question about pets, ashes and seeing spirit.


Q:  My daughter's cat was obsessed with my dad and wouldn't leave him alone whenever he was staying at home with us. He passed away 2 months ago and we have his ashes in his bedroom since he came back home to us the cat refuses to go in there even though whenever he wasn't with us when he was alive they went in there. Does that mean anything??? I'm worried that dad isn't at peace and that's why the cats are scared of going near him

A:  Thanks for your comment. Your cat senses your dad's spirit from time to time in that room, and is confused and scared because your cat can't smell his scent. It's confusing for a pet to see a spirit (as they can) but have no sense of smell (which is harder for a spirit to generate, as it requires more energy). Your dad is at peace, but sometimes, the residual energy in someone's ashes act as a beacon to draw them whenever someone who loved them comes into the room. That would be the love or emotional connection your cat had with your dad. So, ask your dad to stop scaring your cat, and understand that the cat can't make sense of spirit. Also, you could move the ashes out of the room for a day or two and see if the cat will stay in the room. The ashes also emit a small amount of residual energy, which may also be unsettling to your daughter's cat. Either way, your dad has crossed over, and the cat just can't make sense of a spirit without a scent.

If you write a book, you know that finding the right cover can be a challenge. Well, before I even began writing my new book "Ghosts of England: On a Medium's Vacation" I knew exactly what picture I was going to use from our trips to the U.K.
   The cover picture was one I took when we were on a night-time tour in Edinburgh, Scotland. We were in a haunted tour group, walking between buildings. Of course, I couldn't steady the picture while walking, but when I saw it, it made me think of people running from a ghost through the halls of a haunted castle. I also liked the colors in it!
