Winter Continues for 6 Weeks No Matter What the Groundhog Says

Officials in Punxsatawney, PA said the groundhog saw his shadow indicating 6 more weeks of winter. **Well, astronomical spring begins March 20, which is about about 6 1/2 weeks away anyway. So, there's no difference in the rodent's prediction of seeing 6 more weeks of winter from reality. :) Just count on winter for 6 more weeks, whether listening to the groundhog, or following the seasons and Earth's tilt.
Since I'm a meteorologist, I thought I'd address Groundhog's Day (although it has nothing to do with ghosts and spirits).
