Dogs in the Workplace: A Medium's Take and Facts!

Recently I was contacted from Ian Diaz Outreach and social manager of JasonL Office Furniture in Australia who
wrote a blog about the benefits of bringing your dog to the workplace. He asked that I comment on the blog and republish the graphic. I'm happy to do both!  Here's the graphic and my thoughts.

As a dog dad, someone who has worked in dog rescue for about a decade, a scientist and a medium who has communicated with pets in the afterlife, I wholeheartedly agree that dogs improve our quality of life in the workplace. I've read many studies that indicate dogs reduce stress levels and make people happier, which is why there are so many programs to take dogs into hospitals. Of course they also encourage exercise because they need to go out and remind us that we do, too!
Another important thing that dogs would do in the workplace is to remind us that we are good pet parents, and show us that we're loved unconditionally. So no matter how bad of a day you have at the office, you can easily be reminded of that love.
In my daytime job, I'm able to telework for several days, which allows me to spend the entire day in the presence of my three canine kids and it makes for much better days than when I go into an office without them.
For those who lost a dog, the medium part of me wants to remind you that they're with you wherever you go. They'll also remind you of that, if you see a dog or cat that looks like them, find a coin when you think of them, or hear their name mentioned (among many other ways). I wrote about all the ways they let us know they're around in my books "Pets and the Afterlife" and "Pets and the Afterlife 2." -  There's nothing like the love of a dog!

Joy Andreasen's Tarot Tuesday: Five of Pentacles

Today's Tarot Tuesday with Joy Andreasen presents "Five of Pentacles."
Joy says: Has someone shut you out either physically or emotionally? Do you feel you lack the support you need to rise above the situation you find yourself in? It may be that some self evaluation is necessary to rise above this situation. Anytime we blame our circumstances on something or someone outside of ourselves, we play the victim role. We give away our power to the very ones who have seemingly abandoned us. There is always another possibility. There is always a way forward. Take responsibility for your role in the situation and ask yourself what can you do to empower yourself? Stop the negative self talk and the blame game. You are stronger than you think.

Amazing Time at Maryland Psychic Fair!

Rob Gutro and McLean Jacobson
Wow. Yesterday, Sunday April 22 I had an amazing non-stop time at the Maryland Psychic Fair, Elks Lodge, Rte 450, Gambrills, Md. I was so excited to be joined by my good friend and fellow author McLean Jacobson, who just published her first paranormal-influenced cozy mystery called "Extrasensory Perception." In fact, people thought the book sounded so interesting (because it is -and I read it), that she sold out on her debut appearance! I'm so proud of her.

Paranormal mystery author McLean Jacobson

The event included 30 vendors including: authors of paranormal books, Psychic readings, crystals and more. I brought my paranormal books, including my new book "Ghosts of England: On a Medium's Vacation." It seems like many grieving pet parents wanted to talk about pets and the afterlife, and it was so amazing. I talked so much about people's pets that I was hoarse (not horse).     Although it's usually difficult for me to get readings in busy crowds two dogs did come through when I was there, and I passed along the messages. One dog overwhelmed me with love and I actually had to sit down and welled up with tears. Wow. My thanks to the amazing organizers who promoted it everywhere!

This was the very first Maryland Psychic Fair and people were waiting to park and parking along the state highway to get in! It was wonderful to meet everyone, too, and some folks I had previously "spoken with" via email and given pet readings, so it was nice to meet them in person. I also got to meet a special Dachshund named Abby, too.
For those looking to come to my next talk, it will be: Friday, June 1, 7 to 9pm EDT - Talk: "Ghosts of England: A Medium's Vacation Encounters" (Free) at Inspired Ghost Tracking Meeting. Harry L Cooper VFW Post 160, 2597 Dorsey Road Glen Burnie, MD 21061 / inspiredghst@aol.com for info* Rob Gutro discusses his experiences from his brand new book of the same name - where he met many ghosts in 2 different vacations to England and some were famous! https://www.facebook.com/inspiredghost/
