1) I'd like to give readers an idea of the person that is Roberta Grimes. 
Tell me about yourself, where you grew up, what you wanted to do for a career...

I grew up in Massachusetts, always expecting to be an attorney, and my career has been in advising small businesses. Nevertheless, when I was eight and again at the age of twenty I had extraordinary experiences of light which started me on a search to understand reality. It has been a consuming hobby! While I have had a conventional life as a wife (of 42 years), a mother (of 3), and a grandmother (of 5), I have spent my every spare minute researching, writing, and speaking about the glorious greater reality of which this universe is a part, and the beyond-wonderful certainty that our minds are eternal.

2) When did you learn that you had the ability to get messages from those who passed?
I'm not a medium, but rather I am a serious researcher - I have spent decades reading nearly 200 years of abundant and consistent communications from the dead, most of them received before 1950. When combined with quantum physics and consciousness research, they tell a compelling and amazingly consistent story!

3) Do you work as a medium full-time? or is that a part-time thing?

I still practice business law, but I spend much of my time writing and speaking about what I have learned about death and the afterlife.

 

4) What inspired you to write the book?

I have been surprised to find that most people have no idea about the signs that the dead send to us of their survival, and no notion of how much good work is being done in the area of afterlife communication! The Fun of Staying in Touch is an easily read and highly accessible summary of both areas, and it includes an annotated bibliography so people can discover these truths for themselves.

 

5) Tell me about the book. What kinds of things would someone find in it?

The Fun of Staying in Touch includes a section on signs from the dead, and a section on how we can initiate communication, including what seems to be coming next. It is complete, but at the same time it's a quick and enjoyable read.

 

6) What inspired you to write the book? Is it your first?

My first book on this subject was The Fun of Dying - Find Out What Really Happens Next, which was first published in 2010 and has lately been reissued. For me then to talk about communication in a second book was a natural segue. My third book, completing this trilogy, will be The Fun of Growing Forever, due in 2017. I also have published five novels, the first two in 1992 and 1993 and then a trilogy that starts a seven-novel saga.

 

7) Have you received messages from pets as well as people?

I'm not a medium, but The Fun of Staying in Touch talks about some wonderful communications from pets, including an extraordinary communication dream that I received from my horse after his death.

 

8) What different types of personalities do you write about from the other side?

The communications that I have read include an astonishing range of people. We remain ourselves after we have transitioned - just the act of dying doesn't bring enlightenment - and I can tell some amusing (and some sad) stories of these people's efforts to adjust to their new situations.

 

9) I understand that you studied religion or religions. Does that play into your book or is it more spiritual?

I did major in religion in college, but my research is entirely fact-based. The problem with religions is that, while they often express aspects of what appears to be the truth, they have devolved into belief-systems. I don't want to believe; I want to KNOW!

 

 10) Do you combine science with spiritualism to explain communications and the afterlife?

No - my work is entirely scientific. In fact, this is the grounding for a whole new wave of physics that will become the prevailing mode of physics by the end of this century; I call it "the third wave."

 

 11) Do you provide messages to people on a daily basis or offer a service for readings?

I don't do readings, but I do communicate often with people by email and even by phone who are undertaking their own research, and I speak occasionally at various venues. I love to help people on their voyages of discovery!

 

 12) What do you hope that people will come away with after reading your book?

I hope to inform and enlighten the curious, comfort the grieving, and start as many people as possible on the same voyage of discovery that has been my own really wonderful hobby!

Your Pets in Spirit Will Visit from time to time

A close friend of mine just said goodbye to her 19 year old Siamese cat, Simba. I told her that our pets come back in spirit from time to time and give us messages they are still around.
   Listen at night when it's quiet, acknowledge small touches, or little cat feet on your bed at night. Pets send us signs in so many ways. Just know the love we share with them is energy that binds us together between the living and the afterlife.

Signs from the Spirit of Dali the Lhasa Apso!

Dali the Lhasa Apso

Following is a wonderful email I received from a woman named Dorothy, who shared experiences of how her beloved Lhasa Apso, Dali gave her signs that she was still with her mom. 

    Spirits of dogs and cats, like people, have the ability to leads us to things in nature to show us that they're around us. Dali led her mom to see the rainbow, and manipulated the one wind chime to send a message that she's still around Dorothy from time to time. Spirits also can use things in nature like birds, butterflies, feathers, flowers, dragonflies, etc. to send us messages of their presence. They can also move things as you'll read about below, regarding to a windchime.

   Dorothy has given me permission to share her experiences and provided a great photo of Dali, so that Dali's messages and memory will live on, and comfort others - to help them know that their pets are also with them from time to time. - Rob

Dear Rob  -

I just finished reading your book and it gave me a lot of comfort to know my pet is still here.  I lost my Lhasa Apso (12 1/2) on Sept 27, 2014.  I am older and she is my whole life, my soulmate, my best friend.  She got sick quickly and went to the vet on a Friday (who said she would be fine, gave prescription) and she died the next morning very quickly and unexpectedly.  I am devastated.

The next morning I  was trying to cope and went outside the front door and a beautiful rainbow was there.  It had not been raining, but the rainbow was gorgeous and directly over my house.  I cried and cried and immediately went inside and googled "rainbows."  I was directed to the Rainbows Bridge website (had never heard of it) and it became my outlet over the last month.  I related the rainbow story and someone suggested your book.  I immediately ordered it and read it, great insight. 

I know the rainbow was a gift from my Dali.  A few days later one of my windchimes sang when I was outside.  NO wind and only one of them.  I looked up and felt my Dali.  I have never been one to believe in all of these things, but I know now they are real.

Gives me great comfort to know I will again be with my beloved Dali.  Two weeks ago we had a tornado in town.  I was with a group of people who were "herded" to a safer place inside a store.  Everyone was upset, very worried, on cells, etc.  For some reason I was extremely calm, more so than ever before.  I knew I would be okay, Dali was there.  Or maybe it was time to go to where she was?  I will never fear death now and look forward to the light.  All of this has changed me totally into a different person.  I see the good now....thank you Dali.

And I just wanted to thank you for your book, it helped me more than you know.

In the News: German Scientists Prove There is Life After Death

As a meteorologist, I love it when science helps explain what we consider the "paranormal." The paranormal is only "beyond normal" until science catches up with it, and now it seems that it finally has in respect to life after death.

 - You don't have to be of a religion to believe in life after death. You simply have to understand the science of energy. Energy cannot be destroyed only transformed and the physical energies that course through our bodies couple with our memories and personalities to become spirits that cross over, or earth-bound ghosts.

Berlin| A team of psychologists and medical doctors associated with the Technische Universität of Berlin, have announced this morning that they had proven by clinical experimentation, the existence of some form of life after death. This astonishing announcement is based on the conclusions of a study using a new type of medically supervised near-death experiences, that allow patients to be clinically dead for almost 20 minutes before being brought back to life.

This controversial process that was repeated on 944 volunteers over that last four years, necessitates a complex mixture of drugs including epinephrine and dimethyltryptamine, destined to allow the body to survive the state of clinical death and the reanimation process without damage. The body of the subject was then put into a temporary comatic state induced by a mixture of other drugs which had to be filtered by ozone from his blood during the reanimation process 18 minutes later.

The extremely long duration of the experience was only recently made possible by the development of a new cardiopulmonary recitation (CPR) machine called the AutoPulse. This type of equipment has already been used over the last few years, to reanimate people who had been dead for somewhere between 40 minutes to an hour.

Near-death experiences have been hypothesized in various medical journals in the past, as having the characteristics of hallucinations, but Dr Ackermann and his team, on the contrary, consider them as evidence for the existence of the afterlife and of a form of dualism between mind and body.

The team of scientists led by Dr Berthold Ackermann, has monitored the operations and have compiled the testimonies of the subjects. Although there are some slight variations from one individual to another, all of the subjects have some memories of their period of clinical death. and a vast majority of them described some very similar sensations.

Most common memories include a feeling of detachment from the body, feelings of levitation, total serenity, security, warmth, the experience of absolute dissolution, and the presence of an overwhelming light.

The scientists say that they are well aware the many of their conclusions could shock a lot of people, like the fact that the religious beliefs of the various subjects seems to have held no incidence at all, on the sensations and experiences that they described at the end of the experiment. Indeed, the volunteers counted in their ranks some members are a variety of Christian churches, Muslims, Jews, Hindus and atheists.

“I know our results could disturb the beliefs of many people” says Mr Ackermann. “But in a way, we have just answered one of the greatest questions in the history of mankind, so I hope these people will be able to forgive us. Yes, there is life after death and it looks like this applies to everyone.”
