Messages from my Friend Linda's Spirit

Sixteen days ago, my friend Linda, of 28 years passed away. I have so many fond memories of Linda. She loved Louisiana, cats, her children, her work, and had a great sense of humor. She would often share many funny stories of her adventures, and I can still hear that laugh. Since I'm a medium it was no surprise that I sensed her there, and then she shared some things with me!

Her service was held at an historic mansion, and was set up like an English Tea. Linda loved English tea events so it was perfect.  I saw many of my old work colleagues from almost 30 years ago!

Linda was indeed at the event today and her sense of humor came through loud and clear. She told me a couple of things.
First, she said that "Some colleagues didn't age well." Then she laughed. I heard her laugh!!

The next thing she told me was about when she went in managed care. (She had dementia). She said that they wouldn't let her smoke. She still smoked, that I know. - So  she said to me that "that was no kind of care." She decided that if she couldn't do what she wanted and enjoy life the way she wanted she didn't want to go on - so she stopped eating (earlier on the phone, her son told me she stopped eating).

She was very happy that the event was at the historic mansion where she helped serve tea during her retirement.. She loves it so much.

Finally, she told me to thank all of the ladies she worked with serving those afternoon teas, that she's so grateful for the time you they had together. It was a true highlight of her retirement, and she will be sitting there whenever there's an afternoon tea. People who continue to serve the teas may smell a whiff of smoke, or hear her softly laugh, but she'll be there!

A Book Review I like for "Kindred Spirits: How a Medium Befriended a Spirit"

Book reviews mean a lot to authors on AmazonCom and it's encouraging to find people who are moved by your writings, inspired or have learned something. Here's a book review that was just posted on my latest book "Kindred Spirits: How a Medium Befriended a Spirit":

Meet Tracey: A Groomer Who Communicates with Live Animals

Tracey and Pup
A medium (like me) is someone who communicates with people and pets who have passed away. An animal communicator is someone who communicates with living pets. Animal communicators have the ability to determine why pets have behavior problems, fears, or even medical issues that may not be obvious. In Sept, 2019, I met a dog groomer named Tracey in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania who has the ability to communicate with live animals. In today's blog, you'll meet her, too. If you live near Chambersburg and get your dog groomed by her, you'll likely get inside info into what your dog is thinking, too!
Here's her story from an email she wrote me>

Hi - My business is at an address. I don't travel for grooming. The address is, 15328 Church Street, Blue Ridge Summit, PA 17214, the phone is 717-765-4900. I'm on Facebook as Puppy Spa Day.

I grew up in PA and MD. We moved around a lot when I was a kid, so making and keeping friends was hard. I had much more meaningful relationships with the animals we had. I never realized I had a gift and still doubt myself most of the time if someone asks about it. I NEVER doubt what I'm getting from the animals though. I am positive I'm understanding their needs. I'm working on learning how to get more precise answers from them, but for now, I'm understanding their body language mostly. At times, I feel like I can hear them speaking to me. I usually do a voiceover when I have dogs in my shop. I'll ask them a question, then talk like they are answering me. LOL!

I can read their body language on TV, or in a picture, and especially in person. I feel their sadness and pain, their happiness and glee, but can't always understand why just yet. I can usually figure out their quirks and triggers and help them through the grooming process. I can tell if they'll be good with other dogs, with my employee, with strangers, with certain types of noises. I can tell why they hate the blow dryer, or why they hate their nails done. I can tell if it's harder for them to cope with mom or dad around, or kids, or high energy doggies. There's so much I can see in a dog, almost immediately. A lot of it stems from their owner at the other end of the leash, so I get a better understanding as they spend more time with me at the shop. A dog will tell you everything, if you'll listen.

I can't explain why or how I understand these things, I just do.

I learned how to ride horses at age 2 and started horse shows shortly afterwards. I always liked riding bareback, because I could feel their feelings, anxieties, calmness, etc. I knew pretty much right away, whether or not the ride was going to go good, or if I was going to to be thrown as soon as possible. Haha!

As I got older and headed out of high school, I worked as a waitress. The restaurant had a big Bassett hound that would spend a lot of the day, in the back, dishwashing area. I didn't realize it, but I was reading him. I felt sad when he was sad and so happy when he was happy. As he got older (I worked there 9 years) I started feeling his pains and weaknesses and tiredness. It was sometimes too sad for me to even look at him. It hurt me. I didn't understand it then, but I know why now.

I worked a few different jobs, feeling my way around, trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life. I figured out that I didn't like people so much. People can be so mean. I did so much better and understood animals way more than people.

I got a job at an animal hospital in Westminster, where I learned so much, medically. I did receptionist work, vet assistant, helped in surgeries, helped deliver puppies, help with euthanasia and emergencies, learned vital signs and a few typical meds, also boarding/kennel work, cleaning runs, walking, feeding and medicating dogs, bathing, and eventually, grooming the dogs. It was a very fast paced animal hospital and I didn't always enjoy that. I wanted more time with each individual dog.

After a job switch again to people, I realized, that I definitely, wanted and needed to work with animals. A friend of mine (groomer friend) nagged me until I broke and I went for an interview with a highly talented, perfectionist, groomer...in business 20 years at that time. I learned tons more than I ever imagined I would. Not just grooming, but doggie language. I knew this was what I wanted to do. Now, I have my own grooming salon. Pretty successful, too! Open 2 years this coming January, 2020, and almost 500 clients!

I have helped many dogs over the years with their grooming and behavior issues. I love what I do!

Medium Vanessa Hogle Reviews my "Kindred Spirits" book

Vanessa Hogle, Medium/Author/You Tube co-host said of Rob Gutro's newest book "Kindred Spirits: How a Medium Befriended a Spirit":
Image may contain: 1 person, textI found this so intriguing...the relationship between Ed (spirit) and Rob (medium). As a medium myself I thoroughly enjoyed the interaction between them both. Their obvious love for the same person only goes to show that our feelings for those we care about extend long after our bodies cease to live. I highly recommend this book for anyone who wants a true, and honest, account of spirit communication. You will not be disappointed!!    (available on Amazon.com for $6.99 paperback and $3.49 e-book)

Highways and Byways #1: Haunted Intersection in Texas

There are several haunted roadways and in today's blog you'll read about one of them  thanks to the Travel Channel's "Haunted Highways and Byways."  Today you'll read about a haunted intersection in Texas.
Did you ever get bad feelings while driving on the highway? Well, sometimes whenever people die in car accidents their physical bodies die and their consciousness wakes up as energy and are confused. If they linger too long trying to figure out what happened, they get stuck Earthbound as a ghost. (you can read about that in my books "Ghosts and Spirits" and "Lessons Learned from Talking to the Dead.")

  Haunted Intersection in Texas

The bus stalled as it crossed the railroad tracks, or so the story goes. The driver, ferrying kids home from school sometime in the 1930s or '40s, was near the intersection of Villamain and Shane Roads, south of San Antonio, Texas, when the train whistle screamed. Everyone tried to get out, but not everyone did, and the bus was hit. Some folks say several students were killed. Actually, there's no evidence that an accident happened at all — but even today, drivers who leave their cars parked near the site sometimes return to find them covered with small, ghostly handprints.

My friend Linda Sends a Dog Rescue the Story from Spirit

The rescued Dachshund.
The week I learned that my friend Linda had passed. We've been friends for 30 years, so it's been difficult to process that she's not physically here anymore. She's already sent me a sign she's around that has 2 items in it that tie us together:
Louisiana and Dachshunds.
A story where firemen saved a
Dachshund popped up in my facebook feed... and I knew it was Linda's doing.  Linda  was from Louisiana and passed on Jan 9. Her spirit made sure I saw this story, because she knows we have Dachshunds. There's no such thing as a coincidence.
Here's the story>

Saint Tammany Fire Protection District #1 rushed to save a home and a family pet from a fire in Slidell, Louisiana.

SLIDELL, La. (WGNO) — Firefighters rushed to save a home and a family pet from a fire in Slidell.

According to firefighters, they arrived at the home a little after 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. They found a house with a hole in the roof and flames billowing out of it. The inside of the home was full of smoke.

Nobody answered the door, so firefighters had to break into the house to search it. They didn’t find any people, but they did find the family’s Dachshund in the bathtub. They say the dog was trying to hide but was barely breathing when they arrived.

Rob, Tom and Linda
The dog was immediately removed from the home. Firefighters used a special K9 mask that they carry to provide oxygen for the pet. After about 30 minutes, they say the dog began to breathe better and became more alert. A short time later, the dog’s owner arrived and was reunited with him.
The fire took about half an hour to put out.

Ten Most Bizarre Cemeteries: #10 Pere Lachaise, France

Today's blog will tell you about one of the 10 Most Bizarre Cemeteries In The World Recently
TheTravel.com did a series on the top 10, and I'm sharing them again here. BTW, cemeteries aren't haunted. Earth bound ghosts who chose to stay, stay at places they knew in life, a place where they died, lived or liked. However, spirits who have crossed over can come back and visit living people in cemeteries. Now, on to the bizarre cemetery of the day...

Pere Lachaise, France

Père Lachaise Cemetery, the largest cemetery in Paris, looks like a normal, albeit magnificent, Western cemetery, but within its gates lay the bodies of some of the most prominent figures in recent history. The most visited cemetery in the world, Père Lachaise is also noted for being the first garden cemetery and the first municipal cemetery in Paris.

The number of prominent, talented people laid to rest at Père Lachaise is countless, including Jim Morrison, Edith Piaf, Oscar Wilde, Frederic Chopin, Marcel Proust, and Sarah Bernhardt. If you want to be buried in Père Lachaise, you'll have to join the waiting list and live or die in Paris.
