Cat Proves He's Around Through Sign of Tropical Plants

Fudge the cat
Every week I get emails from around the world asking for a message from a pet or a person. I try to answer them all (it takes a lot of time, so be patient as I do it on my free/family time), and I never know what personal sign a spirit is going to give me. In late January, a cat was adamant about showing me tropical plants. Here's the story.

I received the following email from Karen - and I didn't know anything about her, her cat (I only knew it was a cat because she included pictures), where she lived or anything about either of them. That's what makes it hard for a medium like me to understand the meanings behind things spirit shows me. Whenever mediums share something with you, YOU have to figure out what it means- and it's always something personal to you or the spirit. It turned out to be both in this case.

This was her email to me (which she graciously allowed me to share):

Hello Rob,
I found your blog and your page and am emailing you to ask for your kind assistance. Please. I know that you are extremely busy and your time is very precious, and ask that some day when you see this, you would consider communicating with my beautiful boy Fudge, who passed on 5 October 2017. I'm absolutely devastated and struggling to cope with his tragic and sudden passing. I desperately need to hear from him I miss him so much. I just want him back irrational as that is.If you can find it in your heart to help me I will be eternally grateful.
Thank you and regards, Karen

I provided Karen with a number of signs to look for from Fudge, but one in particular struck me odd, and I didn't know what to make of it. I wrote Karen:  "He's showing me a   warm place with tropical-like plants and says he was there. - I'm unsure if you went on a vacation or into a greenhouse (he doesn't know either, because he's only sharing the image with me).. However, even Lowes and Home Depot have greenhouses with tropical plants."

I wrote the "Lowes" and "Home Depot" because I assumed Karen was located in the U.S.A., where I live. I learned in the last email she sent that she's actually from South Africa!  That's why mediums should just pass along what they see from spirit, and not try to interpret the signs.

Karen provided this confirmation about the tropical plants that totally amazed me:

He used to travel with me in my car as a little boy to visit my family, they have an atrium full of huge plants and greenery, it's very warm there. I visit regularly. Fudge loved car travel.I'm really happy that he's visiting, I miss him terribly and I will try to be calmer though it's hard most days.

I was amazed by the message of the tropical plants and the atrium! That's a great example of how a pet's spirit can provide a UNIQUE sign relevant to their lives, to help identify that they are around.

ABOUT "GHOSTS OF ENGLAND ON A MEDIUM'S VACATION by Rob Gutro:

What happens when a medium goes on vacation? Can a medium simply switch off their ability at will? Well…not exactly. Rob Gutro is a medium/author/paranormal investigator and a scientist who has written 4 books about his encounters with human and animal ghosts and spirits.
In this book, you will read about his experiences on two separate trips to the United Kingdom. England’s rich history and many epic battles have caused an over-abundance of residual emotional energy. Everywhere he traveled, he had a paranormal experience. He explored royal palaces and spent the night in haunted castles. He encountered the ghosts of historical figures including a queen, a prince, and a nobleman; and several ghosts even shared their pain of death experience with him. On one occasion, the doppelganger of a loved one provided directions when he became lost while driving in the countryside due to a malfunctioning GPS.
But not all of his encounters were of the human variety: there was also a very special visit from a canine ghost. This book is intended to be more than just a collection of personal ghost stories. In addition to relating my ghostly encounters, he has also included a short narrative history of the places where the experiences occurred. After all, knowing the history of a place is key to understanding why a ghost has decided to stay behind.
So, join Rob as he relates his encounters with the ghosts of England. Rob has written 4 other books about the paranormal, two about people (Ghosts and Spirits and Lessons Learned From Talking to the Dead) and 2 about pets (Pets and the Afterlife and Pets and the Afterlife 2). The books are available in paperback and e-book on Amazon.com.

Part 4: Haunted Devon, UK: True Story Behind Hound of the Baskervilles

My latest book is called "Ghosts of England on a Medium's Vacation" (by Rob Gutro) and conveys

all of the ghosts I met as I traveled throughout England. There are a LOT more ghosts in England that I  did not (yet) meet, and here is the fourth of several postings from Devonlive in Devon, U.K about some of them.. - Rob

The true story behind the Hound of the Baskervilles

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle stayed at the former Duchy Hotel at Princetown, now the Dartmoor visitor centre

This is the story that inspired Arthur Conan Doyle to write The Hound of the Baskervilles when he was staying at the former Duchy Hotel in Princetown, which is now the Dartmoor visitor centre.
Legend has it that evil Squire Richard Cabell was much feared during his lifetime around Dartmoor - but he war even more fearful in death when he led a pack of black hounds.
To this day you can see where he was buried in Buckfastleigh Church and his coffin was secured with a giant slab to ensure his hounds wouldn’t ride on the moor.

The Cabell tomb in Buckfastleigh church

Legendary Dartmoor says you can still see the spooky 'sepulchre': "As you walk up the main pathway you will find a huge building that defies description. Known locally as ‘the sepulchre’, this ‘penthouse tomb’ would probably be more suited to Colditz.

"If it reminds you of a prison then you are not far wrong because in it are the incarcerated remains of the Cabell family and in particular Squire Richard Cabell.

"If you peer through the heavy metal bars you will see a tomb with a gigantic white slab on top of it. The building and the heavy slab will give you a hint that we are not dealing with the normal family burial plot. It will strongly suggest that somebody is trying to contain something and there we have the legend.

"Squire Richard Cabell lived during the 1600s and was the local squire at Buckfastleigh. He had a passion for hunting and was what in those days described as a ‘monstrously evil man’. He gained this reputation for amongst other things immorality and having sold his soul to the Devil. There was also a rumour that he had murdered his wife.

"On the 5th of July 1677 he passed away and was laid to rest in ‘the sepulchre’ but that was only the beginning of the story.

"The night of his internment saw a phantom pack of hounds come baying across the moor to howl at his tomb. From that night onwards he could be found leading the phantom pack across the moor usually on the anniversary of his death.

"In an attempt to lay the soul to rest the villagers built a large building around the tomb and to be doubly sure a huge slab was placed on top of the grave to stop the ghost of the squire escaping. Even after taking these measures people have reported a strange red glow emanating through the iron bars. Other folk have reported seeing a whole host of demonic creatures gathered around the grave trying to get the promised soul for their master."

In the News:(and a Caution) U.K. Man 'killed by family in botched exorcism'

One of the most dangerous things that people do is take their beliefs to the extreme. In some cases, it results in the death of someone. Such is the case of a family in the United Kingdom who thought their ill family member was suffering from "demonic possession" and restrained him until he died.
Instead of using common sense, they jumped to crazy conclusions based on their religious beliefs. Now a man is dead and 7 adults are facing charges of manslaughter. I'm sharing this story as a caution to people who think someone's erratic behavior (likely a mental illness) is a "demon."
Use your head and think past your religious beliefs. Look at the person. Look at the symptoms. Consult a doctor. Don't do something foolish.

Kennedy Ife death: Man 'killed by family in botched exorcism'

Feb 4, 2019 BBC NEWS

Seven members of Kennedy Ife's family deny manslaughter, false imprisonment and causing or allowing the death of a vulnerable adult.

A "vulnerable" man was tied up and killed by his own family as they carried out a form of "exorcism", a court has heard.

Kennedy Ife's parents and brothers mistakenly believed he was "possessed by evil spirits" and set about "curing" him, the Old Bailey was told.
They allegedly used cable ties, rope and handcuffs to restrain the 26-year-old at home in Enfield, north London.

Seven members of his family all deny manslaughter.Mr Ife's parents, Kenneth, 64, and Josephine, 56, and brothers Roy, 33, Harry, 32, Colin, 26, Samuel, 20, and Daniel, 20, also deny false imprisonment and causing or allowing the death of a vulnerable adult between 19 and 23 August 2016.

Dad Kenneth Ife, 63 (front) and son Roy, 32, are among five family members accused of manslaughter
Prosecutor Tom Little QC said: "His own family decided that because he had become and remained unwell he should be restrained with cable ties, rope and handcuffs.

"They decided that he should be restrained in his own home with them rather than calling 999. Ultimately that restraint was a cause of his tragic death."

'Misguided religious beliefs'

When Mr Ife showed signs of illness in August 2016, his family believed he had become possessed by evil spirits and decided to restrain him, the court heard.

Mr Little said: "The family put misguided religious beliefs about this young man being possessed by a demon or evil spirits before the obvious and common sense conclusion that he needed help and did not need to be restrained."
They made an emergency call, but Mr Ife could not be saved, the jury heard.
The prosecutor added: "Instead of calling 999 or seeking other expert assistance they sought to 'cure' his perceived illness through prayer and restraint.
"Whether this was some form of exorcism will be a matter for you in due course. In short, the Ife family took the law into their own hands."
The trial continues.
