Do you see the figure at the top of the stairs in the well-known haunted Stanley Hotel? A Houston businessman took this photo and said no one was there when he took it. It certainly appears to be a human figure. - Rob
In the news; Recent Photo from Haunted Stanley Hotel Shows Figure on Stairway

A Houston man staying at one of the nation’s most famous haunted hotels has an unusual souvenir from his trip. Henry Yau, the public relations director for the
Children’s Museum of Houston, was staying at The Stanley Hotel in Estes
Park, Colo. with his wife for a weekend getaway. During his stay, Yau
took pictures around the historic property—which served as the
inspiration for Stephen King’s “The Shining.”
But he hadn’t planned on seeing anything out of the ordinary.
“I had read about it being haunted but little did I imagine I would capture something,” Yau told FoxNews.com.
While Yau was in the lobby, he used the panoramic feature on his iPhone to capture a full view of the grand stairwell.

“I don't like when people are in my shots, so when I
took this photo, I had waited until the grand stairwell was cleared of
people before taking the pic,” he recalled.
That night when Yau went to bed he says he became
“strangely ill.” Feeling uncharacteristically queasy, he didn’t sleep
well. But the real surprise came when he was scrolling through his hotel
shots the next morning.
Zoomed in, it looks like a woman in a dark dress
When he looked at the photo the next morning, Yau was startled to see a figure at the top of the stairs. Yau posted the photo on Facebook
with a red circle around the unidentified mass, captioning the creepy
image "By golly! I think I may have captured a #ghost at #StanleyHotel.
#EstesPark.”
“I honestly don't know who this figure could be,”
said Yau. “When I was there, I took a historic tour and they said all
ghosts who roam there are happy ghosts. So I'm hoping this one was a
happy one.”
Built in 1909, the legendary hotel hosts different ghost tours after gaining a reputation for being haunted in the 1970s.
"After a century of collecting spirits, the hotel has
become renowned by specialists and experts in the field of paranormal
investigation as one of the nation's most active sites," according to
the Stanley’s website.
After Yau’s spooky vision, he concurs that the property is definitely a hub for unusual activity.
“The Stanley Hotel is a hotspot for anyone interested in ghosts. There really is something there and I'm now a true believer.”
I
read Rob Gutro's first book Pets and the Afterlife after my
fourteen-year-old Yorkie, Cody, passed. To deal with his passing, I
started compulsively cleaning my house. I thoroughly cleaned under all
the furniture in my bedroom and that included cleaning under an armoire.
I also had a desire to paint my room gray, which was unusual for me
because I choose bright colors for my house. Before my husband and I
started painting our room, I decided to clean under the armoire again,
and I found a nickel with the year of Cody's birth: 2000. If I hadn't
read Rob's book Pets in the Afterlife, I wouldn't have known the nickel
was a sign sent by Cody.
I contacted Rob through his Facebook
page and told him about the nickel and also about my desire to paint my
room gray. Rob replied and said that finding the coin with the date that
matched his birth year was indeed a confirmation that Cody wanted to
let me know he comes around from time to time and is safely on the other
side. Rob also explained that dogs see colors like red and brown in
shades of gray and that it was likely Cody was influencing me to paint
my room gray.
Cody's nickel story is one of the anecdotes
published in Rob's new book Pets and the Afterlife 2. Rob sent me a copy
of the book. He did not ask me to write a review; however, I decided to
write a one because Rob's books have helped me deal with Cody's passing
and his books will help others who are devastated over the loss of
their fur babies.
Pets and the Afterlife 2 begins with the
explanations of ghosts and spirits and then there are several anecdotes
about people who have received signs from their pets in the afterlife.
Rob explains how these occurrences work.
I have found a few more
coins from Cody since I first found his nickel shortly after his
passing. One coin, a dime, is very important to me. I hadn't had done
many paintings on canvas for several years, but I felt compelled to
paint Cody's portrait about a month after his passing. When I was
walking on the sidewalk in front of an art store because I specifically
wanted to go in to buy a canvas, I saw a dime on the ground. I thought,
"It can't be one with the year of his birth or his passing." When I
picked up the dime, it had the year 2000 on it: the year he was born.
Here I was in 2015 finding a dime with the year of Cody's birth 2000 on
it on the sidewalk right in front of an art store.
What's
strange, or maybe not strange, is I have painted several paintings since
I found that dime. It's like I have a compulsion to paint now and I
can't stop. I feel Cody inspires me to paint. My paintings are different
now, and I've gotten a lot more compliments than I did on the ones I
painted years ago.

If you're looking for ways
to express your sympathies to someone who lost a loved one, if you're not

A tree planted in
someone's memory is a living tribute that benefits present and future
generations, and is perhaps the most fitting memorial gift of all. Your
memorial trees planted in National Forests will be honorable monuments and
active participants in nature's plan for decades to come.
Through this website,
people may make contributions to reforestation efforts and receive a
personalized commemorative card - in memory or honor of a friend or loved one,
in celebration of a life event, or simply to give the green gift of trees.
If the tree planting is a
gift, we will stamp and mail the card (with your return address on the
envelope) to the recipient for you. Now you can send a greeting card that makes
the world greener. Every card we print is sustainably sourced, FSC (Forest
Stewardship Council) certified, REC-certified & acid-free.
With each order, tree
planting organizations under the supervision of the Forest Service commit to
plant new trees in designated National Forests and Parks that are in dire need
of restoration (see list of projects and sites below).
Every 1,000 tree seedlings
that we plant will restore four acres of forest and create critical wildlife
habitat. The Green Benefits of Planting Trees in Memory

When our pets have passed, they can describe people who are with them on the other side. Recently I gave a reading to a woman named Angela whose cat Diddy passed in 2007. She asked who Diddy is with on the other side.
In addition to his being with Angela's grandmother, I wrote to Angela There is a female on the other side who passed in her 30s or 40s that is
will Diddy. It looks like a friend of yours. If you do not now know
this person, you likely knew her from the past (school). Angela confirmed that the woman in her 30s who passed was her cousin Carmela who died of breast cancer at age 35. It is
amazing that Diddy was able to describe your cousin by age and sex on
the other side. Cats and dogs can only give us words that they know- and
if they heard someone say them. - They do learn a lot from us.
In addition our pets will show us whom they are most attached to. I wrote Angela: Diddy showed me that he followed you around (not your husband).Again, Angela confirmed what Diddy shared: "He was always around me 24 hour 7 and I he sleeps on my side of the bed. He follows my around in the house
and I loved his company."
