Tropical Storm Norma Formed today in the Eastern Pacific
For those of you who don't know I'm a meteorologist and I work on hurricanes/tropical cyclones on my day job. Today, I got a nice big "Hello" from my mother, Norma (who passed
in Dec. 2013). Tropical Storm Norma just formed quickly today off the
coast of western Mexico, and she's going to have a VERY strong
personality (will become a hurricane), like my mom. You never know when
you'll get a sign! AND I got a second sign JUST as I was sitting down to write about it. I'm listening to Pandora radio, and one of her all time favorite songs just started playing: "It Might Be You" by Stephen Bishop (from the Movie "Tootsie", thus the video below) It brought a happy tear to my eyes, hearing from Mom today. Spirits are all around us. You just need to look for the signs.

I'm excited to tell you that my first book, "Ghosts and Spirits" has been revised and updated for 2016. It is now available on Amazon.com! HISTORY - I published the book in December 2009, and have learned a lot since then, especially as my abilities developed and I joined the Inspired Ghost Tracking group in 2010 as a medium. UPDATED - I'm very proud of the book and even more excited that I've updated it to include things I've learned over the last 7 years as a paranormal investigator and as my abilities increased.
I totally reformatted the book, too, so it's easier to read and more user friendly.
WHAT'S IN THE BOOK -
This was my breakthrough book that DEFINED the difference between a Ghost and a Spirit. The difference lies in energies and how they affect the living.
The book has a lot of amazing experiences in it, including a chapter about how my Dad passed in 2008 and helped me convince my entire family that he was around during the week of his services. The book also includes the original story and the first dozen signs from my puppy Buzz, who proved he was still around in spirit, and showed me how pets communicate from the other side. He was the inspiration for this book.
You'll walk through historic places and meet the ghosts that dwell in them, You'll also read stories from others with their encounters of Earth-bound ghosts and spirits, and a great chapter about a mother and son's experiences with both.
My friend Merle in Canada wrote me last week and told me that the spirit of her late husband made himself known again, as he does every year on what would have been their Wedding Anniversary. Her husband Stan comes through in a number of ways, and one way he gets the message that he's still around and his love connects them forever - is through music.

sure enough, just after the 9 a.m. news, it came on!

I must admit I hear it occasionally on my favourite radio station {oldies},
but each time it’s a ‘special day’ – it seems to come on in the morning. I was blown away this a.m.

For those who know me, I've been able to get signs and messages from
people who passed away- and either remain
Earth-bound (as a ghost) or
cross over into the light (as a spirit). Usually they give us signs
around birthdays, anniversaries and holidays. (You just need to look for
them).
Well, my mom was no exception. She gave me several
signs she's around - and this is the week of her birthday and what
would've been her and my dad's 60th wedding anniversary.
Spirits can come in many ways, like through dreams or music. My mom came through in both ways.

A VIVID DREAM / VISIT -
This morning, I awoke from a dream of walking into a brightly lit room
that had huge windows with the sun poring through, and my mom was
sitting down with our (late) poodle, Gigi, who was her favorite dog in
the world. My mom appeared as she did when she was in her late 20s/early
30s! She was young and vibrant, and smiling. (She looked like she did in the picture here)
She was sitting on a large white couch or bed and Gigi, her poodle was
curled up with her. She was very happy and content. The next thing I
noticed was that a Weimaraner was walking next to me- and I think it was
Buzz, my weimaraner who passed in 2005. It was all so very real. That's
the difference between a visit and a dream. This was definitely a visit
and I got to see mom, Gigi and Buzz. How cool.
MUSICAL SIGNS - While
I was teleworking later in the day, I was listening to WSM-AM 650
on-line. That's a radio station out of Nashville that plays classic
country. Well, there were two songs in a row that my mother included in
her favorites: 1) Dolly Parton's "Here You Come Again"
(that brought back memories from the 1970s of Mom and I sitting down
facing each other, slapping each other's knees and singing the song) 2) Glen Campbell and Steve Wariner's "Hand that Rocks the Cradle (Hall of Fame for Mamas)" song came on second. Mom loved that song and said she agreed that there should be a hall of fame for mothers!

One of the many ways that spirits can communicate with you are through songs. You may hear a song that they loved and / or used to sing, or a song that reminds you of them. When you hear it, you need to know that that particular person or pet's spirit is with you (yes, songs remind people of pets).
On March 23, while I was at work, I was listening to a radio station over the internet, and Ray Price's song "For the Good Times" came on. As a child, I remember my mother singing that song out loud when she was in the kitchen making dinners. She loved that song. As the song played I realized that my mom's spirit was with me and it made me smile to know she was visiting (my dad came in, too, but as he did in life, he stood quietly in the background).
So, the next time you hear a song and it makes you think of a loved one that passed, acknowledge that they are there with you. It's not a coincidence. They want to let you know that they're around.
