New England Pet Expo: Spirit of a French Bulldog Sends Clear Message

Last weekend I went to the Boston area where I had a booth and talked about my book "Pets and the Afterlife" at the New England Pet Expo in Wilmington, Massachusetts. The day was very busy and I met some great people and dogs and heard some amazing stories. This blog will highlight some of both!

SPIRIT OF A FRENCH BULLDOG SENDS A CLEAR  MESSAGE - It didn't take long for the first dog's spirit to send a message to his mom. A woman named Donna came to my booth and talked with me and Ruthie Larkin (the Beantown Medium) about the passing of her black french bulldog, Basil. She said that she was looking for a sign from Basil and missed him more than anything.   Donna felt comfort from learning some of the ways that dogs will communicate from the other side. No sooner than I told her that dogs will sometimes lead to their pet parents other dogs that look just like them  - than a Black French Bulldog came marching down the aisle toward Donna!
  Clearly Basil orchestrated his doppelganger's appearance while Donna was at our booth, and right after I told her about pets use doppelgangers to tell their parents that they are still with them in spirit. It was amazing!

A Beautiful Story and an Invitation
    I went to a Christmas Party a few years ago at my ex-husband's home and was introduced to this big strapping man named Bob. So here I am engaged in conversation with this total stranger and the entire time I'm seeing his deceased son standing behind him who is a few inches taller than his Dad and he's talking my ear off. 
   Now I'm not in the habit of telling people I have just met at a party that I'm a Psychic Medium and his son is trying to make me laugh. I was right in the middle of trying to decide how to handle this situation when we are joined by this woman named Sandra who blurts out to me "are you a Medium?" I'm thinking to myself who is this woman and then their son (James) tells me that his mother has just joined us. OK - we now have a family get together but how in the world does this woman know I'm a Medium? She quickly tells me that she was told that very day by another Medium that her son James would play a trick on her and her husband at a party that night where there would be a Medium. 
    So now flash forward a few years and know that Sandra and I have become great friends and I always volunteer my help with the Fundraisers (usually races) she runs annually in honor of her son James.

Coins: Signs from Spirits!

One of the easiest ways for spirits to leave messages is by dropping coins.  Because coins are light, it doesn't take much energy for a spirit to move them. Spirits also have a way of moving the right coins, because they look for the ones that have clues to their identities.
  How do they give a clue through a coin?  The Year on the coin!  The year on the coin will in some way be associated with the spirit or you.
   For example, after our dog Sprite passed, I asked my dad's spirit and our friend Ed's spirit to give us confirmation that they took him to the other side. They did. The next day, we found pennies with the years that each of them passed. We only found TWO pennies that day -one in the morning, one at night, and they each had the exact years of their passings.
  With spirit, there is no such thing as a coincidence.
Which leads me to my current story.

SIGN FROM MY MOM  - 
  In mid-September I flew  to Massachusetts to the New England Pet Expo. Since my mother passed in late 2013, 5 years after my dad, their house was sold. So, I drove by the house to take a picture of it, and get one more look.
  I immediately sensed my mother in the rental car with me. I drove to the nearest Dunkin' Donuts shopping center. As I was coming out of a Walgreens store to head over to Dunkin' Donuts (The same one my mom used to frequent) I saw a shiny dime on the ground. I picked it up and looked at the year. It said "2013." My mom passed in December 2013 and that was her way of confirming that she was with me that morning when I checked on her old house!

New England Pet Expo: Pictures and Visitors!

Last weekend I went to the Boston area where I had a booth and talked about my book "Pets and the Afterlife" at the New England Pet Expo in Wilmington, Massachusetts. The day was very busy and I met some great people and dogs and heard some amazing stories. This blog will highlight some of both!

My friend and amazing Medium Ruthie Larkin, also known as the Beantown medium (www.beantownmedium.com) worked the booth with me all day. She is so in tune with spirits and had an amazing time meeting all the folks that came by and their special dogs.

My old friend Jacquie Murphy, radio personality, whom people in the Boston area will know for her work on air doing weather and traffic also came by and spent some time helping out. Jacquie and I were broadcast meteorologists for the same employer many years ago.

Weimaraners have a special place in my heart

WEIMARANER RESCUE - I volunteer with Weimaraner and Dachshund rescues, and I was supposed to represent the DC Area Weimaraner Rescue at the expo, but because of red tape with clearances for out of state rescues, I couldn't do that. I am, however, donating a portion of my book's proceeds to the rescue.
   DC Area Weimaraner rescue is located in the Washington, DC Area and always needs foster homes (The rescue pays the vet bills, you cover food and shelter). Contact them at: www.dcweimclub.org/rescue/.

MY DOG BUZZ WYATT- People who have a couple of my books know that my late Weimaraner Buzz Wyatt was the world's best canine communicator from the other side. Pet Expo: Human Spirit Comes Through /Meet Some Pet Folks

Wow. I just got back from the Boston area where I had a booth and talked about my book "Pets and the Afterlife" at the New England Pet Expo in Wilmington, Massachusetts, and I had an amazing time!   I met so many wonderful people there and many had a story to tell.
  Over the next week, I'll have pictures of great folks I met and their dogs, too.  In this blog, though  I want to share a story about a man's spirit that gave me messages that  helped give healing to his sister; and I want to give a shout out to some fellow vendors that I met, and whom pet owners may want to get to know!

A man's spirit reached out to me to comfort his sister

HUMAN SPIRIT COMES THROUGH AT PET EXPO - Usually when I'm in large crowds the commotion makes it hard to concentrate and get messages. However, at the Pet Expo this weekend, a woman came to the table and her late brother came through. 
  When she came to the table she asked about spirits, animal and human. She said that her brother passed recently- and as soon as she said that his spirit came forth. He told me to tell her not to feel guilty that she wasn't there at the time of his passing and she understood. She was feeling guilty. What helped was that he made me say the same exact words he said to her in the last conversation he had with his sister (the woman at my booth) before he died.  I told her that her brother was telling me that "he wanted to go on his own terms." Those were his exact words to his sister in a phone conversation on  the night he later passed. 
   Often, people want to pass on their own. They don't want people around. That was what he told me he wanted. His spirit told me that if his sister were there holding his hand as he passed, it would be traumatic for her, and she would never forget it... and it would haunt her all her days, and he didn't want that to happen. So, he passed "on his own terms."
  The last message was that the spirit's sister should not feel guilty for not being there. He passed as HE wanted. The message seemed to bring comfort to his sister who stood before me, and I was so pleased to pass it along. That's what being a medium is all about.

Great Book: Ghosts and Gravestones in St. Augustine Florida.

 I recently enjoyed reading the book Ghosts and Gravestones in St. Augustine Florida.
 This is the companion book of St. Augustine's haunted tour.
  The book is written by John Stavely, and is well written, filled with short stories and photos of the haunted places described, and a great read. Even if you never visit St. Augustine and you want to read about some true, eerie ghost stories- this is a short and great read! Highly recommended. It's only 77 pages and well worth reading.
  In fact, after reading it, you'll likely want to go to this Florida east coast city to investigate.

How to Clear Your House of Ghosts and Negative Energy

Recently I received an email about some serious issues occurring in a home where there appears to be several earth-bound ghosts active. Many people have this issue so I thought I would share the advice on how to clear your home. - Rob 

What I would suggest is the following:

1) Invite a LOT of light in the home

2) paint dark rooms white or bright colors

3) light white candles to invite light and positive energy

4) play soft instrumental music (you can find a relaxation channel on pandora.com for free)

5) TOSS out any objects that you think may have negative energy

6) Clean the house and remove clutter. clutter invites negativity

7) Tell the entities that this is YOUR HOME.  They do NOT belong there and are not welcome. They should cross into the light

to be with their loved ones, they do not belong here.  

- You can send them to a funeral home or hospital nearby

8) At night, picture yourself and your family surrounded by white light of protection. 

9) Bring in a paranormal team with mediums who can help clear your house.

10) Get sage and either light it to emit smoke, or get it in a spray and spray it in every room. 

MORE ADVICE FROM RUTHIE LARKIN, THE BEANTOWN MEDIUM:
In addition to what Rob said, I would also purchase a few Himalayan Salt Lamps that you can pick up at a Home Goods store for $20 - $30 each. Leave them on and place them around your home where your family usually spends the most time. I would also put a few sprinkles of Himalayan Salt between all your windows and the screens to keep negative energy from entering your home. If you live in a house you can also surround your home with a thin line of corn meal. This is a North American Indian way to smudge and is very powerful. How old is your grandson? If he is an adolescent or teen the negative energy could become more intense. I would definitely agree with Rob in saying that all members of the family currently living and regularly visiting your home need to be assessed by a Psychic Medium while in your home and then your entire home needs to be cleared. There are also many Shamans who could perform this cleansing for you…be sure to get referrals.

LETTER: Son, 5, claims he has paranormal experiences

I recently came across a letter to the Telegram, a newspaper in Massachusetts (http://www.telegram.com/) where a woman wrote in about her son seeing ghosts and spirits. The writer said different ministers "laughed it off."  The answer from the columnist was SO wrong, suggesting that the boy has medical problems. Of course, both answers are dangerous and ignorant of the boy's ability, and that is dangerous for the boy and his relationship for a mother who doesn't believe him. So I wrote a response to the article (see below). Here's the original letter:

DEAR ANNIE: My 5-year-old son has been claiming to see the paranormal. I'm sure part of it is just his imagination. But sometimes he describes in great detail people and even pets who have died. He mainly claims to see a cousin he never met, but whom he can describe accurately. Sometimes, he will sit up in bed and start talking to a wall, saying he is talking to his cousin. 

Now he says he can see someone else. He isn't sure who it is, but it frightens him. My son won't even walk past the bedroom door without me or another adult with him and the bedroom light on. 

We don't let him watch scary movies or anything like that. Is it possible that he is really seeing these things? I've mentioned it to a few different ministers who just laughed it off and said there is no such thing as the paranormal. Any advice would be appreciated. — A FAN OF YOUR WORK 

HERE'S THE COLUMNISTS' RIDICULOUS RESPONSE: 
DEAR FAN: The fact that your son doesn't watch scary movies does not mean he hasn't been exposed to ads for them or comments from friends. Nonetheless, our concern is not that your son is making it up. Sometimes manifestations of the paranormal can indicate a medical problem. Please take him to his doctor for a complete checkup, including a neurological exam. 

MY RESPONSE:
I wanted to address the woman whose 5 year old son ("A fan of your work") claims to see ghosts and spirits. As a scientist and someone who has had that ability to hear and see ghosts and spirits since I was a teenager (I didn't ask for it), it's not something to discard or write off to "neurological problems."
  Children have the ability to sense spirits and ghosts because they are open-minded and don't discard them as imagination as adults often do. Because he provides such detail, he really IS seeing them. Ministers are not the right people to ask. You should contact a local paranormal group to help explain things. I belong to a group (in another state) and we deal with this all the time. It's a reality and your son needs to know that you believe him. You mentioned he described a late cousin of yours in detail- to not believe him or think there's something medically wrong with him is the wrong thing to do. He has a gift and he may learn to not pay attention to them as he ages.
  Ghosts and spirits are energy (with our memories and personalities) and are trying to convey messages to the living. Obviously you are a religious person, so know that when we pass, our memories and personality couple with the energy in our bodies and choose to stay here as an Earth-bound ghost or cross into the light or heaven or Valhalla, etc. as a spirit.
  Some are likely there to watch over your son. Please look beyond religion and address this issue and your son's abilities. Do not do that will be harmful to your relationship with him - because he is telling the truth.  I urge you to contact a local paranormal group and read about it- for the sake of your son and for your relationship with him. Educate yourself and talk with people who have the same abilities and deal with ghosts and spirits. It's important to keep an open mind. There are a lot of things we don't know about.

Can Spirits Use Phones to Send Messages?

Recently on Snopes.com, a website dedicated to debunking false claims about anything, there was a story about a man's cell phone placing calls to his loved ones after he died in a train accident. The story was proven to be true. So, I've shared it below, but HOW CAN SPIRITS USE PHONES?
   Spirits and ghosts are all energy. Because they're energy they ca

n manipulate anything that runs on energy, including a cell phone. In a number of events I've attended there have been several people that told me of their late loved ones calling them. 
  When I was at the Hope and Healing Conference this past springtime, several parents who lost children told me that their cell phones have rung and the number that shows is that of their deceased adult child. What's even more eerie to them is that the number was disconnected and was a non-working number.  
   The same goes for landline phones. They can also be manipulated to ring and no one may be on the other side (just static) - and its likely a relative or friend trying to let you know they're okay. 
   So how do you know? If the call comes around a birthday, anniversary of some sort (not necessarily a wedding anniversary, but maybe the date something significant happened) or a holiday, it is likely from someone on the other side.  - - Rob

Origins:   On 12 September 2008 at 4:22 p.m. in California's San Fernando Valley, a commuter train carrying 225 riders collided at a combined speed of 83 mph with a freight train run by a crew of three. In what came to be known as the Chatsworth crash, 135 people were injured (of which 87 were taken to hospitals, 46 in critical condition), and 25 died. 

One of the deceased was 49-year-old Charles E. Peck, a customer service agent for Delta Air Lines at Salt Lake City International Airport. He had come to Los Angeles for a job interview at Van Nuys Airport because gaining work in the Golden State would have allowed him to wed his fianceé, Andrea Katz of Westlake Village. (The pair had put off getting hitched until they were living in the same state.) This would have been his second marriage; Peck had three grown children from a previous 
union. 

His fianceé heard about the crash from a news report on the radio as she was driving to the train station to pick up her intended. Peck's parents and siblings (who live in the Los Angeles area) joined her. 

Peck's body was recovered from the wreckage 12 hours after the accident. Yet for the first eleven of those hours, his cell phone placed call after call to his loved ones, calling his son, his brother, his stepmother, his sister, and his fianceé. In all, his various family members received 35 calls from his cell phone through that long night. When they answered, all they heard was static; when they called back, their calls went straight to voice mail. But the calls gave them hope that the man they loved was still alive, just trapped somewhere in the wreckage. 

The barrage of calls prompted search crews to trace the whereabouts of the phone through its signal and to once again look through what was left of the first train, the location the calls were coming from. The calls searchers finally found Peck's body about an hour after the calls from his cell phone stopped. 

Charles Peck had died on impact. Yet long past his death, his cell phone had continued to reach out to many of those he cared most about, and ultimately led rescuers to his mortal remains. (As far as investigators revealed, they never found Peck's cell phone.)
