"Do our pets go to the afterlife when they die?" . Here we talk about soul contracts, after death communication, how our pets try to communicate with us from the afterlife (spirit world), the typical messages pets communicate to their loved ones here on the physical plane, how our grief can affect spirit communication, and so much more.
Pets, like people, only come through when they have something to tell us. People and pets usually return around the times of birthdays, anniversaries or holidays. They all give us signs—we just miss them—so I wrote the books to educate people on how to see them!

Advice to someone who can’t seem to grapple with the loss of a pet or find closure?

Know that they are around you. Close your eyes and know that the love we share binds us together forever. Love is an amazing energy and energy can't be destroyed. Keep your mind open, too. Don't discount anything that may be a sign because there's no such thing as a coincidence when it comes to spirit.

Pets, like people who pass, don't want us to be stuck in grief. Although grieving is a natural part of experiencing physical loss, it should not cripple you and prevent you from enjoying life and love. Our late pets (and people) want us to be happy, to live our lives and to help other pets who don't have homes or the love that our late pets enjoyed. One of the best ways to pay tribute to a pet that passed is to adopt or foster another and give that pet a chance to experience love (and not waste the love you have to give).

Grief blocks out signs.
When we’re desperate to see something, we tend to dismiss things for something more "concrete." Spirits and ghosts use subtle signs because it takes a lot of energy for them to communicate. If people are sick with grief, that's when they should rely on a medium. They should also take comfort in knowing spirits come around from time to time, they're not always with us. They don't belong here because they're beings of energy.

He's a meteorologist who's decided to use his psychic abilities to help comfort those grieving from the loss of a pet. Rob's still working on mastering the ropes of the spirit world, but his goal is to help as many people as possible in the process. Egyptian animal mummies - so Pets Could Join Parents in Afterlife

Following is an excerpt from an article written by  Karen B. London, Ph.D. is a Certified Applied Animal Behaviorist, Certified Professional Dog Trainer, author, and an Adjunct Faculty in NAU’s Department of Biological Sciences. She wrote about the fascinating topic of animal mummies. Although some animals were mummified for sacrifices to the Egyptian Gods, others were so they could accompany their masters into the afterlife.

 Egyptian animal mummies By

Animal mummies were definitely beyond my usual experiences with the natural world. Mummies are dead animals that have been preserved due to very specific conditions. (Skin and organs of deceased individuals only resist decay if exposed to specific conditions such as chemicals, extreme cold, low humidity, or hypoxia.) The term “mummies” usually refers to bodies embalmed with chemicals, but “accidental” mummies have been recovered from extreme habitats such as high in the Alps and bogs.
In Ancient Egypt, millions of mummies were made on purpose because a well-preserved body was considered critical for a good afterlife. Not all of them were human.
Egyptians mummified cats for multiple reasons: allowing a cherished pet to accompany a person in the afterlife, to provide food, or as offerings to the goddess Bastet, who was depicted as a lioness, a cat, or a woman with a feline head. Some cats were raised specifically for mummification. They were sold to people to leave in the temple as an offering after they worshipped a particular god. Many such kittens were two to four months old, and some experts believe this was simply because their small size made fitting them into mummy containers easier.
I knew that cats were held in high esteem by the Ancient Egyptians and even that they were buried with their owners, so the existence of huge numbers of cat mummies was not a big shock. On the other hand, it was surprising to learn that so many other species of animals were mummified. Common pet mummies included dogs, baboons, monkeys, gazelles, and mongooses. Crocodiles, fish and bulls were also mummified in great numbers along with the occasional ram or hippo. According to some sources, the most commonly mummified animal was the ibis, with over four million discovered, making them many times more plentiful than cats, which are in a distant second place.

Thanks to Haunted Salem: The Haunted Hoosac Tunnel in Massachusetts

Thanks to Haunted Salem for the following historically haunting info.

I found this very interesting and wanted to share.
What's interesting is the number of orbs that appear in this photo. Orbs are the most simple form (a rounded ball of light with a design in them) that a ghost can take. You can distinguish orbs from reflections, dust and pollens because those don't have designs in them, where orbs do.
 - Rob

Haunted Salem said:
The Hoosac Tunnel, a railroad tunnel beneath the Berkshire Mountains in Western Massachusetts, is said to be one of the most haunted places in New England. It was an engineering marvel of its age, completed in 1875, and nearly five miles in length. Yet, it would cost 195 lives in various fires, explosions, and tunnel collapses, hence earning its name among the crew at the Bloody Pit. It has been the scene ever since of hauntings … and even murder.

Q&A: What is Negative Energy?

Over the next 2 weeks, every Tuesday, I'll be featuring a question that I received via email, and my response.

WHAT IS NEGATIVE ENERGY?  It's an energy given off that makes people feel bad feelings- anger, depression, irritation.

WHAT DOES NEGATIVE ENERGY DO?   For some reason, it also powers Earth bound ghosts. Earth bound ghosts (no matter their personality -happy, angry, sad, etc.) tend to radiate negative energy where they "reside." So, if people have a ghost in their home, they tend to get those negative feelings more. I've been on a number of ghost investigations where people who have an Earth bound ghost in their home have reported being more short-tempered, impatient, angered or depressed.
AN ETERNAL CYCLE -   By expressing those bad behaviors and emotions, you're actually emitting negative energy and "feeding" a ghost to strengthen. It becomes a vicious cycle where having a ghost in the home generates negative emotions in the living, and the living people have negative emotions that continue to power the ghost in the home.
That's why it's important to cross a ghost over from your home even if they have benign, or "good" personalities. That's not saying they will cross over, because some refuse. (Historic homes are known to have ghosts in them who love their old homestead and never want to leave).
Conversely, positive emotional energy, such as love, faith and hope empower spirits (who have crossed over).

Another Audible and Physical Sign from Dog's Spirit!

Over the holidays, I received this email from my friend Katharine who lives across the country. She conveys an amazing
Murphy with a smile
sign from her English Setter who had passed before Christmas.

I just had to tell you a really neat story. I lost my English setter Murphy two days before Christmas this year and was feeling like the house is rather empty and wishing she could let me know how she is. Some friends were over yesterday evening and I heard an ornament fall off the tree. I looked over there and an English setter ornament had fallen off the tree and I felt like Murphy was saying hi to me!

My response: Katharine- What a perfect sign from Murphy. I'm so sorry to hear about Murphy's passing. I'm grateful that she knew enough to send you an audible and physical sign with a picture to help comfort you and let you know she's around. Rob

Katharine wrote: It was such a special sign from my Murphy and I am so glad I didn't miss it
That same night, my friends and I continued on out to eat. One of the specials was à la orange which was husbands my favorite dish, so of course I believe that was a sign that he was telling me that Murphy was with him and saying hi.

The timing of Katharine's late husband's favorite dinner with the dropping of the ornament was even more of a connection. It was a confirmation that Murphy is indeed with his dad.

Things come in 3s - The passing of 3 pets (and a special rescue dog story)

On Tuesday, February 17, we received word that three pets passed. Things also seem to happen in threes, and this day
brought very sad news about precious cats and a dog. You may notice in your own life that when people or pets pass, you usually hear about three of them within a short period of time. Why that happens is a mystery known only to spirit.
On Feb. 17, however, I found out that two friends lost their cats, and one of the dog rescue folks we worked with lost a senior dog she recently adopted. It was a heartbreaking night and a reminder how special cats and dogs are in our lives.

KARIN'S CAT
Our friend Karin told me that her cat got out and hadn't come back after a month. I told her that  I feared her cat had passed in the woods and she also thought the same.Karin happened to pick Feb. 17 to send me the message about her cat, and two other messages followed soon after.

MERLIN THE BLACK CAT
Our friends Cristina and Will said goodbye to the beautiful black cat Merlin. Merlin was born in November 1997 and passed on February 17, 2015. Cristina said "He was my sweet little guy. We've been together a long time."

PAPPY THE SENIOR DACHSHUND
Pappy the Senior Dachshund
In January, our friend Donna G, coordinator for Coast to Coast Dachshund Rescue received an email from Kim L. of a Texas Dachshund rescue. Donna shared the email with us about a dog in Texas in need of a foster home. Despite being in Maryland and far away, rescues transport dogs anywhere in the U.S to find them good foster or forever homes - which is why we were contacted by Kim.
Kim said he is a senior, red, smooth 15 pound dachshund that was turned into the Montgomery County Animal Shelter in Conroe, Texas. The shelter simply called him "ID# A 248535."
Kim named this little guy "Pappy." It turned out that Pappy was also mostly blind (he could see light and shadows as it turned out). But clearly he was a senior dog, and some heartless, cruel person dumped him near the end of his life.
After checking with Donna and with us, Kim decided to foster little Pappy herself. She wanted to give this little guy the best part of his life. She did.
On February 17, I received the following email from Kim:   Pappy the old male doxie we talked about had to be put down yesterday. He could no longer get up and was going to the bathroom on himself.  I just wanted to let you know.
I read that email and cried. I never got to meet Pappy, but through the rescue I got to know him. In just a month of being abandoned on the street in his old age, he passed. We're so grateful to Kim for taking him in and caring for him in the last month of his life when he needed love more than ever.

Q&A: Do "Demons" Truly Exist?

Over the next 2 weeks, every Tuesday, I'll be featuring a question that I received via email, and my response.

 3. Do "demons" truly exist?  Yes, but they're not really "demons." I believe they are life forms from other planets (with over 1,000 exoplanets we've found so far, some are bound to support life). When they die, their energies also go through the universe as our spirits do. When alien entities come to earth they are likely hostile because they are afraid of us- so like a cornered wild animal, their first instinct is to strike at living people.

New Sign from My Dog Buzz's Spirit - 10 years this month

The 1996 Nickel
On this date ten years ago,  my first dog, Buzz Wyatt was struck and killed by a car. in front of me as I was walking him
and his leash opened.  He was less than one year old.You never get over that, but you do get signs from your pets. Buzz became the world's best canine communicator. In fact, he came to me so many ways that me made me aware of just how many ways a dog or cat could communicate from the other side. From doppelgangers to moving objects, from a
Buzz Wyatt
bark in the house to the sound of nails on the floor. Songs on the radio at times when I'm thinking of him or coins, butterflies or other things in nature.
I wrote about all of those things and more in my latest book called "Pets and the Afterlife." The book also contains chapters from three other mediums with their canine spirit communicators.

Spirits come around on birthdays, anniversaries and holidays to let us know they're still around us. Dogs and cats are no different from spirit people. They all acknowledge those events with us. So, this year, I got a sign from Buzz with help from a human spirit of a friend named Ed (who passed in 1996).

On the night of February 11th,  I asked Buzz Wyatt to send me a sign that he's around, and I also asked Ed's spirit to let me know that Buzz is with him (he always wanted a dog in life and never adopted one). So, on February 12, I got the answer.

Ed sent the nickel
At lunchtime I drove to the post office to mail a package and parked next to a curb. I got out of my truck and looked down and around (to make sure I wasn't too close to the curb) and there was nothing there. I mailed the package, and came back to the truck. As I was walking to the driver's side door, right next to it was a shiny nickel. When I saw it, I said in my head "Hello Edward!"

BTW- Spirits love to use coins to send messages they're around- and check the year, because if it means something to you or them- you'll have a better idea of who sent it. I didn't see the year until picked it up. It was dated 1996. 1996 was the year my friend Ed passed.  It was from Ed, and I heard him in my head say that "I've got my other dog." Our dog Sprite passed on July 8, 2013, and Ed let us know he was with him at that time. Now, Ed confirmed that Buzz was there with him, too - and it's the anniversary  month of Buzz's passing.

I was looking for a sign and I got it - from Ed and Buzz. .

Watch for signs from your pets and people. They send them. We just have to be open-minded and pay attention.

Spirit Signs: A Yorkie's Coin and Color

In December of 2013, I received the following email from a pet parent of a Yorkie who passed. She inquired about some signs. Here are the emails:

Cody the adorable little Yorkie

Dec. 31, 2014 Hi, my Yorkie Cody passed on the 23rd of this month. Of course I'm traumatized and I've been in tears every day. I had a feeling he was telling me to go on with my life and he wanted me to paint my bedroom gray, which I did a few days ago.
What was strange was I found a nickel with his date of birth while I was cleaning and painting under the armoire that was next to his bed. Also I had cleaned under the armoire a few days prior because I was compulsively cleaning to deal with his death. Anyways, I only looked at the date of the coin because I had read in your book that coins can be messages from spirits. Thanks.

My Response Dec 31st, 4:37pm
Hi Cathy- Thank you for sharing that story with me. Spirits do influence to think of things- and painting the room gray was likely influenced by Cody. Since dogs see many colors like red and brown in shades of gray, that would make sense. It would be the color that Cody would likely see! - In addition, finding the coin with the date that matched his birth year was indeed a confirmation that he wanted to let you know he comes around from time to time, and is safely on the other side! What wonderful signs! BTW- I would love to share your story on my blog, so that others can recognize signs from their pets, if you would allow me to do so. -
And, if so, please send me a photo of Cody, so I can include it. What a powerful connection you have with him. - Just know that he'll be there from time to time, but he finally got his message through that he's okay, so please take comfort in that. Sincerely, Rob Gutro

Cathy's Reply  Dec 31st, 4:53pm

Cody's nickel
Hi, Rob, yes of course you can share Cody's coin story. Also I didn't realize that dogs saw colors in shades of gray. I felt like painting my room gray before Cody passed on the 23rd when I knew in my heart he was going to pass soon. Also, I thought it odd that I wanted to paint our bedroom gray because I love bright colors. Most of our house on the inside is purple. The kitchen is deep red, and I had our extra bedroom painted so yellow it's like the sun is always shinning in there. The picture I'm sending you is on the day I had Cody euthanized. I know you understand the pain of losing your baby. Thank you for getting back to me.

Here's a picture of Cody's nickel. I really have no idea how it got under the armoire or how I missed it when I cleaned under there when I cleaned the first time after his death and before I painted our room. There was nothing else under there except dust balls.

The compulsion to paint my bedroom gray was so strong too after his death. I kept begging my husband until he relented. We painted it only six days after Cody passed.

My Reply:  Jan 1st, 7:06pm
Hi Cathy- Cody is really beautiful. That beauty continues on the other side, too. As for the grey, I've read about the colors that dogs can see- and Yellow and Blue are the two main colors a dog can see. All of the other colors appear to them as shades of gray.
- Thanks for allowing me to share Cody's story with others.  It will bring others hope and encouragement to look for signs from their dogs and cats. Wishing you and your family a happy new year (especially knowing that Cody is still around). Rob
