An Important Musical Sign from My Mom

On December 22, 2013, my mother had a massive stroke and was rushed to the hospital. She was transferred to a major hospital in Boston where she lay comatose for 7 days. The prognosis was very bad, and I was told that it was just a matter of time before she passed.

My mom loved to laugh

   While she lay incapicitated, she managed to send a musical sign to me and my husband. It came on December 24th, while we were having Chinese food, as is the tradition in my family to enjoy on Christmas Eve.
   When people are in a comatose state, they have the ability to leave their bodies and communicate with people anywhere in the world.  That's exactly what happened.
    During dinner, we were listening to Christmas music being pumped in over the intercom. Within 30 minutes, we heard my mom's favorite song, "Ave Maria" twice! 
What's even more weird is that after listening to Christmas music since mid-November every day, we had never heard that song played before.
  We both instantly knew that it was my mom, telling me that it was her time to go, and asking us to get up to Boston before she did. My mother passed away on December 29, 2013.

A Different Way to Look at Wakes

On Dec. 29, my mom passed away after a severe stroke. It's been a challenging time for me and my family. The services were on Jan. 1 and 2, and I looked at the wake in a different way.  I guess I've turned around on my take on their purpose after being able to talk with people "on the other side." They wants us to talk about the ways they touched our lives, the funny things they did, the interesting events around them, the friendships, the fun and the difference they made in the lives of anyone. It's a way to pay tribute to the person we lost in the physical world and recognize all of the people they touched. So next time you go to a wake, keep that in mind, and tell the family of the person how the person who passed touched your life.
  - Later, I'll blog more about the events and messages I received from my mother over the last two weeks. Please keep her and my family in your thoughts as everyone struggles to live without talking with and interacting with my mom in the physical world.

A Great Read: All You Know Is What You Think You Know Paperback

A wonderful book for anyone curious about Paranormal/ghosts/spirits etc.,

  I had the good fortune to meet Clay and his wife Joy at the SpiritWatch conference in Nov. 2013 and they are amazing, warm, caring and talented people. They belong to a group of paranormal investigators called SpiritWatch and help people with paranormal problems. I just read Clay's book and makes you think about things we have come to know or think we know about ghosts, spirits, demons, mediums, shamans, angels, etc. He lets the reader decide about things, He provides photographic proof of ghosts and asks what you see. The author shares some amazing stories of personal experiences, too. It's a book that an

I have received a lot of great questions about ghosts and spirits, and I've provided answers to the questions to the best of my knowledge of the afterlife. 

Do you think a spirit can be in more than one physical place at once? (My sister has said that several in her family all felt Mom there, around them, after she died, while I was feeling her here with me at my house

ANSWER: Yes.

Science tells us that Energy can move at the speed of light. However, spirit tends to even go beyond that. When people in spirit are energy  it seems that they can send some of their energies to different people at the same time, in multiple locations.  That's why there are energies of people's spirit attached to objects  and whenever those objects come near other energies they "power up " the full spirit.   Often, though, you'll hear stories of people who are passing away and they manage to give people signs that their passing is occurring- no matter where the living person or persons are located.

Since my mom didn't believe in the afterlife, could she really have strong enough energy to actually reach me?

ANSWER: Yes. If your mom had a strong personality, she can come through. In fact, believing in the afterlife has nothing to to with becoming part of it. Religions teach us that we will go to heaven or hell  - the latter if we don't believe. That's incorrect. Hell is being trapped as an Earth bound ghost and being unable to communicate with others in spirit or in the living world. Heaven is joining the energies that run through the universe. If your mom is strong enough, she'll find a way to communicate with you. In fact, I'm sure she's already given you some signs.

Are spirits' energies stronger for a while after the person first dies? For how long?

ANSWER: The energy levels after someone dies isn't stronger than later on. What strengthens spirit are physical and emotional energies. Living people naturally feel a lot of grief, sorry, hurt when someone passes, and it's all of of love. Love is a positive energy that gives spirits the ability to get strong and relay messages (but our grief blocks those messages). So, whenever someone is thinking of someone who passed, they're providing them energy.

Spirits Can be Funny!

   As a developing medium, I tend to get messages when I get them - so I call myself a "medium rare": As in, not well done yet. When we pass, we maintain our personalities. I've come to understand that when our physical bodies die, the physical energy within it combines with our personality, memories and soul. It's through their personality that spirits will identify themselves. So, sometimes the funny personalities of the spirits come through.  That was the case when I was driving to an event with my husband.

    He and I were both in my pick-up truck and suddenly I smelled flatulence. He looked at me, as he smelled it, too. At the same time, we asked each other who had let out some gas. We both denied doing so, and that's when I "heard" a 60ish year old, overweight man who identified himself as "Larry." Larry said that he used to like walking around his house in his tee-shirt and boxer shorts and let out gas, just to be funny. He loved to laugh, and would always try to make his wife and grandchildren laugh.

   

So, spirits maintain the same sense of humor that they had here on Earth in their physical forms, and share that with us so we can identify who is "calling!"
