What is the Beagle Freedom Project? Please Help!

The Beagle Freedom Project is an organization that needs your help and was created in 2010 to make people aware that laboratories USE BEAGLES for product testing!

I met folks from the project during the New England Pet Expo and was horrified to learn about the cruelty of laboratory testing on these dogs. DOGS have personalities, memories and intelligence just like people do. Stop this insanity.

Every month, 90 beagles that are subject to testing are "discarded" - and the Beagle Freedom Project usually only saves a very few. I was told that these testing facilities actually break the back of the dogs to kill them. PLEASE HELP stop this insanity.  DONATE to save countless dogs from laboratories.

Believe it or not, “there are nearly 70 thousand dogs in US labs right now, and 96% of them are beagles” explains Shannon Keith, President and Founder of BFP, adding that they “are the breed of choice because they are so gentle, docile and forgiving.” Aside from rescuing hundreds of dogs so far, the organization has pushed the passing of the Beagle Freedom Bill in four states.

On November 23, 2011, ARME's Beagle Freedom Project rescued 40 beagles from a laboratory in Spain where some had spent their entire lives. Others had come from other labs to the lab in Spain, only to be tested on in there. When we heard the lab was closing and the dogs would be killed, we stepped in and rescued them by flying them to Los Angeles, CA, to BFP Headquarters.

ABOUT THE BEAGLE FREEDOM PROJECT:
Beagle Freedom Project, founded in 2010, is a unique program run by the Los Angeles-based non-profit Animal Rescue, Media, and Education (ARME). Beagle Freedom Project negotiates with laboratories across the world to secure the release of dogs and other animals and give them a chance at a normal home life after everything they have endured for vanity and scientific curiosity.
The organization uses the rescues to draw public attention to the plight of animals languishing in labs and to promote cruelty-free lifestyle choices everyone can make. The beagles act as ambassadors who give faces to animal testing victims and remind the public that these animals are not just furry test-tubes, but dogs no different from their pets.
To date, Beagle Freedom Project has rescued over 500 beagles, mixed-breed hounds, cats, rabbits, ponies, pigs, goats, guinea pigs, rats, and even goldfish from laboratories. Beagle Freedom Project has given hope and homes to these research survivors in 35 states and 6 countries. Their stories of recovery have been covered extensively by local and national media, such as CNN, NBC Nightly News, HLN, The L.A. Times, The San Francisco Chronicle, Yahoo! News, The Huffington Post, The Washington Post, and many more.
Beagle Freedom Project has an ambitious immediate and long-term agenda that is both political and pragmatic. The organization is working toward the release of more animals and an end to animal testing altogether.

On Sept 27, Tuesday, 7:30-9pm I joined fellow investigators from the Inspired Ghost Tracking Group to Talk about the  "Double Murder Ghost Investigation" at the Belmont Mansion, Elkridge, Maryland. 

 

Group founder Margaret Erhlich provided the introduction, and I led the talk with the help of investigators Ronda, Greg, Diane, and Dana. 

 

The talk focused on an investigation where the Inspired Ghost Tracking Team mediums and members used scientific instruments to help prove the identities of two ghosts who were victims of a double murder.

Spirits (those who have crossed into the light) have the ability to manipulate things in nature to give us signs. Things like dragonflies, birds, butterflies, feathers, flowers, and other things that would help identify them.

  That doesn't mean every time you see a dragonfly someone in spirit is there. The dragonfly or whatever it is would have to have special significance, or behave oddly in a way that it usually would not.

MY BROTHER'S DRAGONFLY

August  26, 2013 

    My brother passed away four weeks ago today and we have had numerous dragonfly sightings since. A large orange,a green, a blue and black one have stayed around my Mom's yard continually. 

   In addition, I went just up the road and a large black dragonfly kept circling my car. I thought I've never seen anything like this. I stretched out my arm and it sat on my palm just looking at me.

  The young man who took over my brother's job reports seeing them as well. I have found these sighitings peaceful and I believe they are for my Mom as well. My brother told us he would find a way to send us a sign. I'm a believer.

Over the next 4 blogs, I'm going to share with you some stories that readers have posted on in response to an earlier blog about dragonflies - that made them think their loved ones were around.

STORY #1: MY DAD'S DRAGONFLY

    We've had encounters with dragonflies since my dad passed away last year. The day after he passed away, my daughter and I were swimming in our pool when a big dragonfly started flying back and forth over the pool. It kept this up for over an hour.

    Last month, I went to the cemetery where my dad and mom are buried. While I was standing at my father's grave, a dragonfly landed on my back. In all of my 50 years, I've never had a dragonfly land on me.

    Then yesterday, at my son's wedding, a dragonfly landed on my son's back. Out of 17 people at the wedding, this dragonfly chose to land on the groom. On his wedding day. I'm pretty sure it was a sign from my dad to his grandson. :)

 MY RESPONSE:

  Thank you for sharing your story. Spirits always communicate on birthdays, anniversaries or holidays and special family events- so your mom and dad obviously wanted to let you know they were at their grandson's wedding.

A Westie dog Comes Through for his Mom at my Appearance

A big thanks to Mary Ann Sullivan at the Milton Council on the Aging (in Milton, Mass.). 
  I had a great time this morning giving a talk about "How our Pets Communicate from Spirit" and there were so many who had stories and experiences of their own. What a great audience. 
  One woman in the audience realized that there was a message for her from her Westie (dog) who passed, because I mentioned a Westie making a spirit appearance with Santa, and she knew it was a message for her because her Westie was famous for a number of christmas time photo shoots.
   Her Westie apparently in spirit obviously influenced her to attend!
 It was a great sign... and she wasn't going to come, but did at the last minute- so her dog so obviously influenced her to attend so she could know that he's around her!
  Remember, when it comes to Spirit, there is no such thing as a coincidence.

MY TALK- I had about 15 minutes to give an overview of the books from the main stage. I've been doing it so long I don't use notes and it went really well. In fact, most of the chairs were full, which was nice to see. Afterward, several people came over to me to share their stories or ask questions. One young couple, Eric and Emily had what appeared to be the happiest dog ever.
