Book Review I Like 5 of 5 Stars: Pets and the Afterlife- Great book for the grief stricken

Book reviews mean a lot to authors on AmazonCom and it's encouraging to find people who are moved by your writings, inspired or have learned something. Here's a book review that was just posted on my books "Pets and the Afterlife" and "Pets and the Afterlife 2.."

Great book for the grief stricken January 13, 2020
I liked this book a lot. It really helped me think of my kitty who passed in a more positive way, knowing she is in the afterlife veil and is still with me. It brings great comfort. I know she will return to me one day in a new kitty body!

FYI - COVID19 Info: Caring for Someone at Home, Prevention, Symptoms

In today's blog you'll see the CDC's guidelines for caring for someone at home (and when they can finally leave isolation-it's quite a while). Also, BBC News provided a great visual checklist about what you should do to prevent getting COVID19 and the SYMPTOMS. Finally, there is an idea of how long social distancing and sheltering should last in the U.S.  Read on.

SIDE NOTE- Answer to your Question - "HOW LONG WILL THE SHELTERING ACTIONS LAST? - As of March 24, 2020: It lasted a MONTH in This area of China: CHINA TO END MONTHS-LONG HUBEI LOCKDOWN Chinese authorities announced they would end a two-month lockdown of most of virus-hit Hubei province at midnight. People with a clean bill of health will be allowed to leave. The city of Wuhan, where the outbreak started in late December, will remain locked down until April 8. Hubei has seen almost no new infections for more than a week.

STOP MEETING OTHERS, ASAP. Young and old have died!  Stay at least 6 ft away from others. Don't ride crowded buses, subways, etc. Don't crowd in grocery stores, and certainly don't hoard. We need to be respectful of others.

Caring for someone at home

Most people who get sick with COVID-19 will have only mild illness and should recover at home.* Care at home can help stop the spread of COVID-19 and help protect people who are at risk for getting seriously ill from COVID-19. If you are caring for someone at home, monitor for emergency signsprevent the spread of germstreat symptoms, and carefully consider when to end home isolation.
*Note: Older adults and people of any age with certain serious underlying medical conditions like lung disease, heart disease, or diabetes are at higher risk for developing more serious complications from COVID-19 illness and should seek care as soon as symptoms start.

Monitor the person for worsening symptoms. Know the emergency warning signs.

  • Have their healthcare provider’s contact information on hand.
  • If they are getting sicker, call their healthcare provider. For medical emergencies, call 911 and notify the dispatch personnel that they have or are suspected to have COVID-19.
If you develop emergency warning signs for COVID-19 get medical attention immediately. Emergency warning signs include*:
Trouble breathing Persistent pain or pressure in the chest New confusion or inability to arouse Bluish lips or face *This list is not all inclusive. Please consult your medical provider for any other symptoms that are severe or concerning.

Prevent the spread of germs when caring for someone who is sick

  • Have the person stay in one room, away from other people, including yourself, as much as possible.
    • If possible, have them use a separate bathroom.
    • Avoid sharing personal household items, like dishes, towels, and bedding
    • If facemasks are available, have them wear a facemask when they are around people, including you.
    • It the sick person can’t wear a facemask, you should wear one while in the same room with them, if facemasks are available.
    • If the sick person needs to be around others (within the home, in a vehicle, or doctor’s office), they should wear a facemask.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after interacting with the sick person. If soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol. Cover all surfaces of your hands and rub them together until they feel dry.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
  • Every day, clean all surfaces that are touched often, like counters, tabletops, and doorknobs
    • Use household cleaning sprays or wipes according to the label instructions.
  • Wash laundry thoroughly.
    • If laundry is soiled, wear disposable gloves and keep the soiled items away from your body while laundering. Wash your hands immediately after removing gloves.
  • Avoid having any unnecessary visitors.
  • For any additional questions about their care, contact their healthcare provider or state or local health department.

Provide symptom treatment

  • Make sure the sick person drinks a lot of fluids to stay hydrated and rests at home.
  • Over-the-counter medicines may help with symptoms.
  • For most people, symptoms last a few days and get better after a week.

When to end home isolation (staying home)

  • People with COVID-19 who have stayed home (are home isolated) can stop home isolation under the following conditions:
    • If they will not have a test to determine if they are still contagious, they can leave home after these three things have happened:
      • They have had no fever for at least 72 hours (that is three full days of no fever without the use medicine that reduces fevers)
AND  other symptoms have improved (for example, when their cough or shortness of breath have improved)
      • AND at least 7 days have passed since their symptoms first appeared
    • If they will be tested to determine if they are still contagious, they can leave home after these three things have happened:
      • They no longer have a fever (without the use medicine that reduces fevers)
AND other symptoms have improved (for example, when their cough or shortness of breath have improved)
      • ANDThey received two negative tests in a row, 24 hours apart. Their doctor will follow CDC guidelines.

Most haunted highways in UK : Part 2: The B519, The A666, Old Tay Bridge

    B519 by The Spaniard’s Inn
The UK Telegraph and Argus news ran a series about the United Kingdom's most haunted highways, and in this blog you'll learn about a few of them and their resident ghosts. This is the 2nd of several blogs about the UK Highways (By Will Kilner)

    4. The B519 by The Spaniard’s Inn, Hampstead
A sharp turn in the B519 just before The Spaniard's Inn in Hampstead is said to be haunted by an eighteenth-century highway man.
The ghost's father allegedly owned the pub for a time, and his ghoulish son still paces the road looking to target passing motorists.

    Devil's Highway

    5. A666, ‘The Devil’s Highway’, Bolton
If any road was going to be haunted, it was always going to be the A666, which shares its name with The Number of the Beast.
Several accidents have been caused by sightings of a hunched-over figure limping at the side of the road along the Devil’s Highway. Known simply as the A666 ghost, dashcam footage from 2015 revealed a white creature appear out of nowhere on the deserted road. The video shows the figure slowly approaching a terrified driver while the passenger cries for help.

The collapse of the Old Tay Railroad bridge

    6. The Old Tay Bridge, Dundee
A violent storm during the winter of 1879 caused the Old Tay Bridge to collapse while a train was passing over it. The six-carriage train plummeted into the ice-cold waters of the Tay and all 75 passengers on board were tragically killed.
According to an old legend, on the anniversary of the disaster each year, a phantom train can be seen crossing the old bridge and locals report hearing the screaming cries of the victims.

Video: Jimmy Stewart Reads a Touching Poem About His Dog Beau

As a dog dad (and one who has lost 2 dogs) I can relate whenever someone expresses love over their canine kids, a friend of mine found this great clip of actor Jimmy Stewart reading a poem he wrote about his dog named Beau. He read it when he as a guest on Johnny Carson's Tonight Show. Stay with it until the end as it will really make you think of your dogs who have crossed over. Video:

United Kingdom Book Reviews I like on "Pets and the Afterlife"

My books are available around the world and recently I figured out how to see reviews from other countries. This is a review I like from the United Kindgom about "Pets and the Afterlife" by Rob Gutro. You can link to the page on Amazon.co.uk: https://tinyurl.com/t64vjc9

     M. Delaroche
     5.0 out of 5 stars
Very helpful in painful times of loss
9 September 2019 Format: PaperbackVerified Purchase
I purchased this book and the second book on pets and the afterlife after losing my soulmate cat Samedi in December 2016. Strange things started to happen, and I thought I was going insane.
Thanks to these books and the replies from Rob to my emails, I was reassured and able to understand and find peace. I have read these book three times so far as they help me to maintain that peace – I receive far fewer signs than before, so need that reassurance. I also bought these books for my cousin who was devastated at losing his sweet cat at a very young age – they really helped him as they did me.
I highly recommend both books on pets and the afterlife by Rob Gutro – he’s an amazing person and he knows what he is talking about – he’s both a medium and a scientist – a very interesting combination – you will not regret buying his books!

An Observation: A Need to be Patient with Medium Messages

If you have ever gone to medium, they may tell you that they are hearing some things from spirit that you may not understand. However, over time, you may.
There a have been several instances where I have given people readings that included a description of someone that passed who was connected to them, or a dog or cat that gave a specific number, date or time that would identify them. In each case, the person told me that they didn't understand. Although the person for whom I described an older man in spirit purposely set out to humiliate and embarrass me.
THEY FIGURED IT OUT EVEN MONTHS LATER-   In all cases, the people eventually figured out what the sign was, the number, or in the worst case, who the man was. I'm writing about this because you need to know that sometimes it takes time to figure messages out.
PLEASE DON'T REACT NEGATIVELY - If you don't understand a sign, don't lash out at the people trying to help you (me and other mediums).  Recently, I apparently gave a reading to someone who read one of my books, and she wrote a "not good" review of my book, saying that I'm "just someone trying to make money from grieving people."
That horrible "review" now sits forever on Amazon.com, because someone didn't have patience, and instead decided to lash out at the person trying to help.
I was hurt, angry and disappointed that someone would think that of me.

First, I don't and have NEVER charged for readings. So, how I can I make money off of people?
Second, the books I write teach the reader to recognize the signs from their own people in spirit. As a self-published author, I set the prices of my books at $10 or LESS, cheaper than all other books on the topics. I do this not to make profit (I make less than 50 cents a book), but to teach people how to recognize signs and get comfort and understanding their loved ones are still around them.

BOTTOM LINE - You may not immediately understand things a medium tells you. Please, please, please don't get hostile with a medium. Mediums just convey information they hear. They DON"T KNOW YOU. All they want to do is help you.
