Part 2: Another Experience from the Public Paranormal Belmont Manor Investigation

On July 21, I helped lead an Inspired Ghost Tracking Group Paranormal Investigation at the
Belmont Manor in Elkridge, Maryland. There were about 40 people participating and several people had their own experiences, and one of our own ran into a new ghost!

2) Ghostly Brush Up -  When ghosts can gather enough energy, you can sometimes feel them as something brushing against you, or as a cold spot. While one group was in the dining room, I was talking about how the friendly ghost of a young girl inhabiting the mansion likes to rearrange things on set tables in that room. Suddenly one of the women in the group spoke up and said that she felt someone brush against her arm. She was standing alone and standing about 2 feet from the fireplace in the room. Perhaps the ghost of the little girl brushed the woman's arm to make her aware of the little ghost girl's presence. If you go on an investigation at Belmont, be sure to stop in the dining room and hang out by the fireplace. Ask the little girl to let you know if she's around. She may also touch you on the arm!

Part 1: Experiences from the Public Paranormal Belmont Manor Investigation

On Friday, July 21 from 7:30-10:30pm I helped lead an Inspired Ghost Tracking Group Paranormal Investigation at the Belmont Manor in Elkridge, Maryland. There were about 40 people participating and 5 members of Inspired.  Several people had their own experiences, and one of our own ran into a new ghost.
The people attending were split into 4 groups and got to tour the mansion from top to bottom and out in the cemetery behind the manor.  Participants learned about the friendly ghosts who reside in the manor, and who do not want to cross over. They also learned about the one ghost we did cross over.
EXPERIENCES FROM GROUP:
Several people had experiences of their own!
1) Ghostly Sensation - One woman felt heaviness in her chest when we walked into one of the rooms where a man had died and his ghost lingers. This ghost's identity was even confirmed (he told me his first and last name, profession, and purpose at the mansion). He died of a heart attack, and often shares that breathless and chest pain feeling with those who are sensitive so they know he's there.
NEXT: Another Belmont Experience!

Part 2: Ghosts at George Washington's Mt. Vernon House

In Part 2 of ghostly encounters at George Washington's Mount Vernon house, you'll read 2 stories from people who shared them with me.
In 2012, I visited Mount Vernon, the estate of George Washington when he was the first President of  the U.S. (click here to read my experiences). I'm not the only one who had encounters with ghosts at the estate, and here are the others:

STORY #1: A Male Ghost
West Parlor, Mt, Vernon
I have also been in the house on tour and when I was there and I could of sworn I saw a figure in the corner of the living room. It was a male, I would've guess about in his 50s, but I am not really good with guessing ages myself, I think the man was wearing a nightgown.
At first I thought it was all a trick of the mind, I haven't had too many experiences like that before then, and when I went upstairs to the bedrooms, I saw a picture, and I have learned that Washington died in his sleep and the picture was showing him in his death bed with his family surrounding him, and he looked exactly like I had seen.

STORY #2: Freezing Temperatures in George Washington's Bedroom
Julia  said:
Mt. Vernon
I went in the summer of 2015 and it was ABSOLUTELY FREEZING in President Washington's room. There was no air conditioning in the house esp on the second floor on the landing it was stiflingly hot with several mini fans blowing to make it easier for the guides to do their "talk"but when I came to Pres. Washington's room, even though there was plastic that prevented entry into his room proper, you COULD extend your arm into the actual room and it was FREEZING i could not help but feel he was in that room

A Nice Honor: My Blog Post in an Animal Care Newsletter

I receive a lot of emails from people who have lost pets. I try to answer them all within a week or two and give them any signs I receive. Of course, I never know whom I am writing to and usually just get the person's first name, the name and sex of the pet, and the pet's name. That's all a medium usually needs.

Recently, one of the people to whom I provided a reading  was connected to someone who works for the Canadian Association for Laboratory Animal Science, and they sometimes publish a pet memorial page in their Animal care newsletter. I was honored to be asked if a story I posted recently about a message I received from a dog after he passed (and the message was confirmed) could be published in the organization newsletter. Of course I said yes!   Thank you so much for "T" and CALAS for allowing the remarkable story to be shared so that more grieving pet parents can learn that their pets are still around them in spirit! - Rob

Here's the blog that appeared in the newsletter:
Chica Shares Pain Associated with Passing to Prove Identity
Chica
One of the ways in which pets, like people can prove who they are from the other side is to make mediums like me experience the pain they felt before they passed. Often, whenever I read an email I'm able to connect to the energy and get messages from the person or pet who passed. In the following excerpts from a recent email exchange, a dog identified the exact "pain spot" on me as I got messages.
The writer was also able to identify signs from her dog (over a couple of emails). In this blog, though, I'll show you exactly how specific a dog's sign can be to prove their identity.
REST OF THE BLOG AND THE CONFIRMATION: http://ghostsandspiritsinsights.blogspot.com/2017/07/chica-shares-pain-associated-with.html

About the really cool organization that shared the story:
Since 1961, CALAS/ACSAL has been serving a diverse membership of over 1,000 Technicians, veterinarians, members of animal care committees and others who care for animals in research settings across Canada. CALAS/ACSAL strives to continually elevate the standards of laboratory animal practices to enhance animal welfare and excellence in science through training, certification, and continuing education. Members are trained to strictly adhere to all applicable Canadian laws, guidelines, and policies.

Part 1: A Freezing Ghost at George Washington's Mt. Vernon House

Mount Vernon
In 2012, I visited Mount Vernon, the estate of George Washington when he was the first President of  the U.S. (click here to read my experiences). I'm not the only one who has encounters with ghosts at the estate, however. In part 1 of 2, here's an experience I received from Mady, who says:
A bedroom inside Mt. Vernon

I visited Mount Vernon in the summer of 2015. I was in Virginia/D.C. for the fourth. It was my first time ever visiting and it was BOILING hot. I mean like 98 degrees outside, and dry (compared to my native South Florida).

It's hot. I'm wearing a tank top and sweating my a$# off. The house was built in the early 1700s/late 1600s, so it's safe to assume adding central cooling into the house might jeopardize its structural integrity. So, the only breeze entering any room of the house came from open windows.

But, I kept on enthusiastically through the house since I am a FANATIC for the founding fathers and their complex, rich histories.

Now, some of the rooms (the ones with more important artifacts, I suppose) have a plastic half-door over the door frames so as to allow visitors to peer into the room (sticking their heads and torsos in) and nothing else. Pretty standard stuff.

So the tour guide's taking us through the house, telling us about the history of the estate and the purpose of each room, and- finally- we reach George and Martha's bedroom. I'm SUPER excited at this point. I knew that this is the room George slept in (as well as the one where he died), and I was DYING to see what it looked like. I vaguely noticed that everyone else in the tour group was standing around the room, looking at it from afar in the hallway, but I paid that no mind.

Instead, I walked right up and peered past the half door. There, I saw his bedroom. I was in the room past my chest. I was looking around and felt it was absolutely FREEZING in the room. It wasn't like, mildly cold. It was like I had just stuck my face into a freezer cold.

I was confused (because NO other room was like that) and trying to find a source for the cold (a vent or an A/C unit outside the window) but there was none. The tour guide was talking about Martha's experience with Washington's ghost. Before I could ask more about it, I felt all the hair stand up on the back of my neck.

I mean like. In a way I've NEVER experienced before. And, from the center of the room, I felt somewhere staring at me. Like, intently staring at me. I felt their eyes move closer and closer, as if this spirit in the center of the room was walking towards me while staring me down. It was an intimidating presence. I knew immediately that it was him.

At this point, I was FREAKIN
George Washington's Mt. Vernon Carriage
G out. I tried to move away, but I found I was paralyzed (at least from the waist up). I couldn't move at all. I struggled and tried to move or at least look away but couldn't. I tried to open my mouth and scream, but nothing but air came out.

Finally, after what felt like at least 30 minutes (but was probably more like 2), the eyes left me, and I was able to free myself, and I nearly fell trying to pull myself away. The tour guide looked at me like I had two heads and I tried to ask him if there was A/C in that room and he told me "no, of course not."

IN PART 2 OF GHOSTS AT MOUNT VERNON (NEXT BLOG) - You'll read about another person who felt freezing temperatures in that same bedroom!

What is an Old Soul?

What is an old soul?    Sometimes you'll get a sense when you meet a young person, or adopt a pet that they're wise beyond their years. That's because they're likely an "old soul." An old soul is someone who has lived before and has come back (reincarnated). We all come back.
Sometimes, though, you can tell by looking in someone's eyes that they have lived before and are an "old soul."
Such was the case with my first dog, Buzz Wyatt, who passed away in a tragic accident on Feb. 22, 2005 when his leash opened and he was killed by a car. When he was alive I would look into his eyes and knew that he was an old soul. In fact, many people told me that whenever they met him. People would tell me Buzz lived before and came here for a short time to help teach me about unconditional love. I totally agree. He was incredibly wise for a puppy, and I don't just mean learning things- I mean reading my emotions.
My husband's late partner was an old soul. He had had many previous existences, already learned a lot, and was only meant to be here for a very short time this go-around.  That may explain why he has been able to punch through to reach us while only being on the other side for such a short amount of time.

a book worth reading
Another way to tell if you or someone else is an old soul is if you are attracted to things in the past you have not been exposed to.  For example, my husband is an amateur historian on the Tudor period of England. He was drawn to it, and feels as if he had lived in England during that time. I have recollections of living in the 1870s and 1880s in the U.S. southwest. In fact, when I visited Tombstone, Arizona for the FIRST TIME in the early 1990s (before the movies came out about them), I oddly knew where to find certain buildings that still stand from the 1870s. There was no way I could have known about them or their locations unless I had been there before in a previous life.
There are a number of websites that list characteristics in people that can identify them as "old souls" like being non materialistic, you see the bigger picture, you are thankful, you're spiritual not religious (we grow from religions and become spiritual), you're a bit of a loner. Those are just some qualities mentioned. But if you're drawn to something or somewhere in the past and you've never been there, then it's likely you've lived there before.
