Spirits (those who have crossed into the light) have the ability to manipulate things in nature to give us signs. Things like dragonflies, birds, butterflies, feathers, flowers, and other things that would help identify them.

  That doesn't mean every time you see a dragonfly someone in spirit is there. The dragonfly or whatever it is would have to have special significance, or behave oddly in a way that it usually would not.

MY BROTHER'S DRAGONFLY

August  26, 2013 

    My brother passed away four weeks ago today and we have had numerous dragonfly sightings since. A large orange,a green, a blue and black one have stayed around my Mom's yard continually. 

   In addition, I went just up the road and a large black dragonfly kept circling my car. I thought I've never seen anything like this. I stretched out my arm and it sat on my palm just looking at me.

  The young man who took over my brother's job reports seeing them as well. I have found these sighitings peaceful and I believe they are for my Mom as well. My brother told us he would find a way to send us a sign. I'm a believer.

Over the next 4 blogs, I'm going to share with you some stories that readers have posted on in response to an earlier blog about dragonflies - that made them think their loved ones were around.

STORY #1: MY DAD'S DRAGONFLY

    We've had encounters with dragonflies since my dad passed away last year. The day after he passed away, my daughter and I were swimming in our pool when a big dragonfly started flying back and forth over the pool. It kept this up for over an hour.

    Last month, I went to the cemetery where my dad and mom are buried. While I was standing at my father's grave, a dragonfly landed on my back. In all of my 50 years, I've never had a dragonfly land on me.

    Then yesterday, at my son's wedding, a dragonfly landed on my son's back. Out of 17 people at the wedding, this dragonfly chose to land on the groom. On his wedding day. I'm pretty sure it was a sign from my dad to his grandson. :)

 MY RESPONSE:

  Thank you for sharing your story. Spirits always communicate on birthdays, anniversaries or holidays and special family events- so your mom and dad obviously wanted to let you know they were at their grandson's wedding.

A Westie dog Comes Through for his Mom at my Appearance

A big thanks to Mary Ann Sullivan at the Milton Council on the Aging (in Milton, Mass.). 
  I had a great time this morning giving a talk about "How our Pets Communicate from Spirit" and there were so many who had stories and experiences of their own. What a great audience. 
  One woman in the audience realized that there was a message for her from her Westie (dog) who passed, because I mentioned a Westie making a spirit appearance with Santa, and she knew it was a message for her because her Westie was famous for a number of christmas time photo shoots.
   Her Westie apparently in spirit obviously influenced her to attend!
 It was a great sign... and she wasn't going to come, but did at the last minute- so her dog so obviously influenced her to attend so she could know that he's around her!
  Remember, when it comes to Spirit, there is no such thing as a coincidence.

MY TALK- I had about 15 minutes to give an overview of the books from the main stage. I've been doing it so long I don't use notes and it went really well. In fact, most of the chairs were full, which was nice to see. Afterward, several people came over to me to share their stories or ask questions. One young couple, Eric and Emily had what appeared to be the happiest dog ever.

LET’S RECONNECT WITH OUR PETS

Everyone here at the Milton Council on the Aging loves dogs.  Some of us even like them better than most people.  Last month we had Bailey, Jack Foley’s rescue dog visit and we love it when Officer Kristen Chipman stops by with Fozzie.  It is a noted fact that dogs improve your quality of life and help reduce stress.  This is so true but as much as we love our dogs, it is hard when they pass.  Recently we heard about a book called, “Pets and the Afterlife” by Rob Gutro.  We contacted Rob and he graciously agreed to come to the Senior Center on Friday, September 16^th at 11:30AM and talk to us about helping people find peace after their pet passes.  Rob feels the love we share with our pets binds us together forever.  He will talk about how pets communicate signs to the living from the other side.  Rob will share scientific studies that prove our pets have emotions and personalities.  He will also share with us how our pets wait for us when it’s our time.  Rob does not charge for this presentation but he would like us to make a donation to the Milton Animal Shelter in his name. Rob’s book will also be available for you to purchase.   There is a $5 fee for the program which will be donated to the shelter as well.  Light refreshments will be served.   We could all learn a lot about what’s important in life from our furry friends.
