Here's a question I received via email and my response about if you keep someone's ashes, do they trap a soul.
Q: Is there a possibility that keeping a loved one's
ashes at home would create difficulties for their spirit into moving on to the
light and such?
A: No. Keeping the ashes of a loved one is just keeping a
physical remnant of them. Their spirit has already crossed over. When the physical body dies, or just before
it dies, the soul, that is, memories, personality and knowledge combines with
the physical energy in the body and leaves it. We make a choice to stay
Earthbound as a ghost or cross over as a spirit and join the energies of the
universe/heaven/paradise, etc. So your loved one has already crossed over or
stayed on Earth as a ghost, which is very uncommon.
