Recently, my friends at Keystone State Paranormal shared a story about a cat named Oscar that appears to have an ability to predict impending deaths of patients in a Rhode Island nursing home. The article mentions the cat has identified people who are about to pass when he lays next to them. The assumption is that the cat uses scent, but in today's blog you'll read why I think something else may come into play as well.
The article cites a possible explanation as scent. The article cites that it is perhaps biochemicals emitted by the body's dying cells that Oscar smells.
I checked if that happens, and found that five chemicals are part of a group of molecules called esters, which are also responsible for strong odors emitted by fruits like pineapples. The human smell of death is a little bit fruity. You can read more in this article from Seeker.com (Click).
To me, it makes sense in terms of scent because cats and dogs have many more sensory receptors than humans do. However, there's another aspect I think comes into play. That's reading a person's emotional energy.
Animals can sense emotional energy and they know when our emotional energy is waning to dangerously low levels , i.e., we lost our will to live. They tune into that and they come and stay with us out of love, so we will not be alone.
