A Hair-raising Sign from my Friend Jane's Spirit

 Yesterday I published a blog about my friend Jane who passed on Friday, April 10 from complications connected to COVID19. She was 93, and she was my mom's best friend, but she also became my friend. The news was devastating to me as I had known Jane over my entire life. However, less than 12 hours later, she gave me a sign she was okay on the other side. Here's what happened.

In Friday night at about 6:45 p.m., I learned about her passing just 15 minutes before I did a facebook live event. One of Jane's daughters messaged me through Jane's facebook messenger and let me know (Yes, Jane at 93 had a facebook page - she was always very hip). I had 15 minutes to collect myself before the facebook live event began with my friend Brian, manager of the paranormal group called "The Ghost Pit." Brian had arranged for he and I to give an dog rescue fundraising lecture about how pets communicate from the afterlife. Although it was supposed to be in a venue in Pennsylvania, because of the brutal COVID19 outbreak, we were in our respective homes at our computers for the video event. I mentioned Jane's passing to Brian just before the show, and tried to focus on the topic. The show went well and made some money for the pitbull rescue.

After it was over, I took my empty dish (I always have 2 cookies for dessert at night) and cup (for herbal tea) and brought them to the kitchen. I usually wash them but for some reason I put them in the sink (unusual for me). The next morning, the sink would be the site of Jane's sign to me.

In the morning when I came back into the kitchen to make breakfast for Tom and I and our dogs, I went over to the sink. On the dish that I had put there less than 8 hours before was a long strand of reddish brown hair, obviously from a woman, laying lightly on the dish. I immediately sensed Jane was there. (Jane had the color hair before she went grey).

Of course, my husband Tom came in the kitchen and I told him about it. We tried to understand how that happened. He said, "That's weird." It was. First, we are two men and have 4 very short-haired dogs. Second, we've been home bound like everyone else for the last 6 weeks. Third, it has been more than 2 or 3 months that a woman was in our home. Fourth, I put the dish in the sink myself the night before and we weren't awake overnight, and again, there isn't a woman in the house.

I knew it was Jane's hair. I knew it was her sign to me that she was okay in spirit. Now that I think about it, I recall hearing, "I'm fine, I'm fine." She told me to convey this to her daughter and family. She also said she is very much around them in spirit. She sends her love and thanks to her family She said there are 2 Phillip's there (one I know is her late husband).

So, spirits can give us all kinds of signs from the other side to let us know they're around and they are okay. Finding a strand of hair from someone in spirit is a first for me. I'm just very happy to hear from Jane.

The week I learned that my friend Linda had passed. We've been friends for 30 years, so it's been difficult to process that she's not physically here anymore. She's already sent me a sign she's around that has 2 items in it that tie us together:
Louisiana and Dachshunds.
  A story where firemen saved a
Dachshund popped up in my facebook feed... and I knew it was Linda's doing.  Linda  was from Louisiana and passed on Jan 9. Her spirit made sure I saw this story, because she knows we have Dachshunds. There's no such thing as a coincidence.

Saint Tammany Fire Protection District #1 rushed to save a home and a family pet from a fire in Slidell, Louisiana.

SLIDELL, La. (WGNO) — Firefighters rushed to save a home and a family pet from a fire in Slidell.

According to firefighters, they arrived at the home a little after 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. They found a house with a hole in the roof and flames billowing out of it. The inside of the home was full of smoke.

Nobody answered the door, so firefighters had to break into the house to search it. They didn’t find any people, but they did find the family’s Dachshund in the bathtub. They say the dog was trying to hide but was barely breathing when they arrived.

The dog was immediately removed from the home. Firefighters used a special K9 mask that they carry to provide oxygen for the pet. After about 30 minutes, they say the dog began to breathe better and became more alert. A short time later, the dog’s owner arrived and was reunited with him.
The fire took about half an hour to put out.

A Simple Sign from Sprite's Spirit on his Birthday

I got a sign from our dog Sprite (who passed in 2013) that he was around on his birthday!

If you've read either of my "Pets and the Afterlife" books, you understand that pets in spirit can send subtle messages to let us know they're around during birthdays (theirs or yours), anniversaries (adoption, passing, etc.) or even holidays. They know these times because when they are alive in the physical they can read our emotional energy levels and know those dates are special times. When they're in spirit, they can also read that energy, so they know enough to return to us at those times to let us know they are still around us. That said, our dog Sprite, who passed in 2013 gave me a subtle sign this year, 2019, on what would have been his birthday, Dec. 23. 

Sprite was a dachshund who passed away on July 8, 2013 at 16 1/2 years old.  Sprite was a funny little guy, who liked to keep to himself and didn't play with toys (he came to us from the rescue just before he turned 14 and wound up have several surgeries and 22 rotted teeth removed). Sprite loved our other dogs, Dolly, Franklin and was getting accustomed to Tyler (who was young at the time).  

Because he had most of his teeth removed, he found it difficult to eat his food from a bowl, so we bought him a small, square dish that was flat with slightly elevated/angled ridges around it. When Sprite passed, my friend Troy, a medium, told me that Sprite wanted us to keep his dish and use it for our food. So, I did.

Yesterday, on Dec. 23rd, I quickly needed to get a small dish to prevent a spill in the kitchen, so I flung open the cabinet and grabbed the first dish. It was Sprite's special square dish!  
   I realized immediately that it was his birthday, and the he directed me to open the cabinet and grab his dish as a reminder he is still very much with us. That's how spirit works. Even something as subtle and simple as a dish can be a sign.

Questions about Signs from Spirit: Feathers, Butterflies, Coins

In several of my books I explain how spirits (of loved one who crossed over) and Earthbound ghosts can communicate and provide various signs to us. Spirits can manipulate or influence things in nature like birds, butterflies, flowers, etc. while ghosts cannot. ; Dan also found coins. I always tell people to check the year to learn the identity of the sender.
Recently I received an email from Dan, whose dog Romeo passed. Dan shared a couple of things that he thought were signs from Romeo, but he had questions about them, since they appeared to him in an abnormal way. Here's Dan's email and my response. ->>>>

THE EXPERIENCES: . .I have some questions to ask you about signs. Since Romeo passed away, I have found a single penny on 2 separate occasions and a nickle on another occasion. One penny had the same year that he passed on it, the others had random dates.
. As feathers go. I have come across feathers on 3 separate occasions. On 2 separate occasions, I came across an entire wing by itself with rest of the bird gone. Once in my girlfriends back yard where me and Romeo played and the other time was at work. The other time, I found 2 feathers at work.
Now as Butterflies are concerned. I have come across some big beautiful colorful Butterflies at work. Once as I was walking with my head down, I told Romeo how much I love him and miss him and as soon as I raised my head after I said those things there was a big colorful butterfly over my head. The other time, I was walking and in my path I came across a big colorful butterfly but it was laying on the ground and appearing that it was dying or dead.   

THE QUESTIONS AND MY ANSWERS: 
 1. In order for coins to be a sign, does the coin have to have a year on it that means something such as Birth date or date of death or the year that I got Romeo?
2.  Is it more of a significance by finding an entire wing(with the rest of the bird missing) than it is just finding one feather?

3. Is a dead butterfly or dying butterfly mean something, and is it a sign from Romeo just as the living butterfly was a sign?

ROB'S ANSWERS:
 It takes a lot of effort for a spirit to make sure they give you a sign.

 You know they are signs when you were thinking of the pet or  person and something comes your way, Just as the butterfly did. Romeo didn't mean to take the butterfly down but it was important you saw it at that time. 

  He did the same thing with the bird! He loved chasing birds and still does.  The bird wing being in the backyard of where Romeo used to go is also a sign. That's because he used to go there and was familiar with that yard. So he dragged the wing out for you to see it. He did the same at your workplace because he wants you to know that he can now follow you to work!

As for the coins, usually the date will indicate the spirit. However there are exceptions because it takes a lot of effort for a spirit to find the exact date so sometimes they take the coin that is closest to you. They do that especially when you are thinking of them.

  He certainly has been quite active! He wants to assure you that he is able to follow you wherever go! He has thoroughly convinced me!

A Sign from My Mom While on Vacation!

Today's blog is about how spirits give signs anywhere and anytime to let us know they're with us. As someone who has been able to get messages from people and pets who have passed on, it's important to share stories of loved ones who communicate. As I've written in my books, it's all about paying attention.
  In May, I took a vacation on a Viking River Cruise up the Danube River. We had to dock in the city of EngleHartszell, Austria instead of going all the way north to our last stop of Passau, Germany. That's because heavy rainfall had caused the Danube River to rise, making it impossible for the cruise ship to go underneath a bridge that spanned the river. If the ship could have gone under the bridge, we would have been able to dock in Passau instead.

  So, to get to our last stop from Englehartszell, Austria, we boarded a bus and proceeded north on Route 130. Route 130 ran parallel to the Danube River. Just before we got to the bridge that crossed the river into old Passau, Germany, we entered the newer part of Passau, and on the lefthand side of the bus was a huge red sign that simply said "Norma."
   That's my mother's name. My mother was Italian (she passed in 2013), and I never thought I would see her name in Germany!  I sensed my mom and dad were around me, and this time they wanted to give me an actual sign as a sign!
   When I got home, I looked up "Norma in Passau, Germany" and learned that it is a supermarket. The actual supermarket sign we passed is located at Kapuzinerstraße 42, 94032 Passau, Germany.
    It's always good to know that Mom and Dad are around and still watching over me.

Ed's Spirit Sends a Sign of Approval! (read my new book "Kindred Spirits")

If you haven't read my new book "Kindred Spirits: How a Medium Befriends a Spirit" then you may
not know about Ed, a spirit whom I befriended after getting continual messages over the last 14 years. Our story is in that book - and we never met in life.
   The book was just published in July and I've been doing several interviews about the book since then. Each time, Ed is always standing behind me listening and telling me what to talk about. He's pretty happy about the book since he passed away in 1996, and the book lets everyone know how he and other spirits are still very much around. 
   In fact, on Saturday, August 17th, I sensed him around while we were doing laundry. He gave us a confirmation, too.  My partner Tom took the sheets out of the dryer and brought them into the bedroom. He put them down on the bed and shook them out, and a penny dropped out of them!  How that got in there (and why it didn't fall out on the way from the dryer to the bedroom is because Ed didn't want it to fall out yet).  The penny was dated 1996 - the year Ed passed away! 
  Spirits send us signs in many ways, and Ed loves using coins with the 1996 date on them. Keep in mind, that's 23 years ago.  Glad to see that Ed approves of his book and my story with him!

"512": Some Signs from Spirit Take Time To Figure Out

The following story is a good example of how signs from spirit are intensely personal to the people
4333for whom they are intended, and sometimes take a while to figure out. Back in June of 2018 a dog dad emailed me about the passing of his black Labrador retriever. Of the signs I gave him from his Lab, one of them didn't make sense. That was the number 512.

Sometimes, spirit will give me numbers that either signify a time, date or other thing that is intensely personal to them or the person getting the reading.

Eight months later, the dog dad wrote me back and figured out what 512 meant, and it was very meaningful.

               

I received the following email from the dog dad on Feb 23, 2019:

               

I hope you are well. Last year you helped me deal with the loss of my two labs.  Aly and Blake. Blake sent you the image of 512 and have been waiting to connect that number with something.  

I am a physician and I noticed one of my patients had the diagnostic code of 512 which stands for pneumothorax, which means collapsed lung.   Did Blake sense his lung collapsed?  He had a condition called laryngeal paralysis which has the potential complication of a pneumothorax.

The diagnosis is relevant in that it is a possible complication of is neurologic condition of laryngeal paralysis. Did Blake’s spirit confirm or am I just making the connection?

I told the dad that I did remember his Labs in spirit and the number 512, because signs that can't be made sense of stick with me. I sometimes dwell on them and try to figure them out.

I was ecstatic to receive the email because "512" was a personal message only Blake's dad could identify, since he is a doctor!  No one else would have any idea what 512 meant outside of those in the medical field.  I replied that Blake was telling him that he felt his lung collapse and it became painful very difficult to breathe. The number was Blake's confirmation of the condition and Blake provided that number so his dad could make the connection on purpose.

 That's amazing. This super smart Black Lab sent a number knowing that only his dad would know what it meant.  That's how he proved that he was the one communicating.

So, if a sign doesn't mean something to you now, eight months or a year from now, you may figure it out!

Cat Proves He's Around Through Sign of Tropical Plants

Every week I get emails from around the world asking for a message from a pet or a person. I try to answer them all (it takes a lot of time, so be patient as I do it on my free/family time), and I never know what personal sign a spirit is going to give me. In late January, a cat was adamant about showing me tropical plants. Here's the story. 
 
I received the following email from Karen - and I didn't know anything about her, her cat (I only knew it was a cat because she included pictures), where she lived or anything about either of them. That's what makes it hard for a medium like me to understand the meanings behind things spirit shows me. Whenever mediums share something with you, YOU have to figure out what it means- and it's always something personal to you or the spirit. It turned out to be both in this case.

 This was her email to me (which she graciously allowed me to share):

Hello Rob,

I found your blog and your page and am emailing you to ask for your kind assistance. Please. I know that you are extremely busy and your time is very precious, and ask that some day when you see this, you would consider communicating with my beautiful boy Fudge, who passed on 5 October 2017. I'm absolutely devastated and struggling to cope with his tragic and sudden passing. I desperately need to hear from him I miss him so much. I just want him back irrational as that is.If you can find it in your heart to help me I will be eternally grateful.

I provided Karen with a number of signs to look for from Fudge, but one in particular struck me odd, and I didn't know what to make of it. I wrote Karen:  "He's showing me a   warm place with tropical-like plants and says he was there. - I'm unsure if you went on a vacation or into a greenhouse (he doesn't know either, because he's only sharing the image with me).. However, even Lowes and Home Depot have greenhouses with tropical plants."  

I wrote the "Lowes" and "Home Depot" because I assumed Karen was located in the U.S.A., where I live. I learned in the last email she sent that she's actually from South Africa!  That's why mediums should just pass along what they see from spirit, and not try to interpret the signs. 

 

Karen provided this confirmation about the tropical plants that totally amazed me:

He used to travel with me in my car as a little boy to visit my family, they have an atrium full of huge plants and greenery, it's very warm there. I visit regularly. Fudge loved car travel.I'm really happy that he's visiting, I miss him terribly and I will try to be calmer though it's hard most days.

I was amazed by the message of the tropical plants and the atrium! That's a great example of how a pet's spirit can provide a UNIQUE sign relevant to their lives, to help identify that they are around.
