Part 1: Horses Seeing Ghosts or Spirits

In my book "Pets and the Afterlife" I mention that horses, dogs and cats have the ability to see, hear and smell ghosts and spirits. Following are three stories from readers whose horses may have experienced a ghost or spirit.
This is the first of 3 stories about horses seeing ghosts or spirits as shared by readers:

Kelly said: I know my horse see long deceased horseman from our Club area who are buried on the hill above left of our parcel of land to the big indoor area that most of them built.

It happens at night or at dusk when I am leading him in or out of the indoor area back to his stall. I board him here. It happens after I turned off the lights to the area, My horse jumps out of his skin about 90% of the time.

A Super Nice Endorsement of "Pets and the Afterlife"

Recently, I received this note from a wonderful man named Christopher, whose two dogs came through with messages. He enjoyed my book "Pets and the Afterlife" and "Pets and the Afterlife 2" and recommended it to his neighbor who had this to say (according to Christopher):

Rob-
Just to let you know that my neighbor Teresa, whom I bought a copy of your book for her, said that your book was the single most meaningful thing she ever read and she is comforted by your  words, views and lessons of the after life that you are sharing and teaching us, as well as by the testimony of so many other grieving pet parents.

Always grateful,

Christopher

Q&A: When should a medium withhold a message for a spirit's loved ones?

Here's a question I received recently, and my response:
Q: When should a medium withhold a message for a spirit's loved ones?
A: Sadly, various religions look unfavorably at mediums and the messages they get from spirits. So, you need to be careful and not give a message to someone whose religion will accuse you of "talking to the devil."
I wrote in my book "Lessons Learned from Talking to the Dead" that a man at a wake (in spirit) showed me his fun personality, and then asked if I would tell his wife and children he is still very much alive in the afterlife. However, because his family was conservative Baptist religious followers, I could not. That religion thinks that mediums speak through "the devil."
It's absurd when you're trying to help someone and offer comfort, especially to people you don't know - but you have to let it go. That's what I did.  I had to explain to the spirit at the wake that I could not give the message because of his family's religion, and he understood (although he was disappointed). - It just meant that he would continue to try and let them know he was still around in spirit, but will use other means, hoping they would understand sometime in the future.
So be careful if you have the ability, and try to get a sense about the person for whom the message is intended. Otherwise, although you may have good intentions to help, it may not go over favorably.

Tarot Tuesday: The High Priestess

Here's this week's Tarot lesson from my friend Joy Andrease: The High Priestess

Today is a day when your intuition may be really in tune. You may know or understand things that in the past have eluded you. Female energy is especially strong. Use the power of your inner wisdom to begin to understand mysteries or secrets. Yes there may be secrets that are revealed today or perhaps you just know. You may come into contact with someone who is especially tuned in or intuitive or you may feel led to seek such a person out to help you understand. Now is the time to realize the power of intuition and begin to trust your instincts.

Fact Check: Suicide Victims DO Cross into the Light

Recently I was messaged about a mis-statement made about suicide victims by medium on a national broadcast program.

WHAT HAPPENED?
Apparently, a female medium (I don't know who it is) said  "No suicide vicitms crossover."  That's totally incorrect, and is actually dangerous to the people they leave behind. Of course suicide victims cross over

WHY WOULD A MEDIUM SAY THAT?
Some mediums hold tight to their religious beliefs that "teach" this ridiculous thought. The medium was influenced by her religion, and not connecting with spirit.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN A SUICIDE VICTIM PASSES?
As a medium, I've been told by spirits that they awaken on the other side somewhat confused. They realize what they've done and feel sorry for taking their lives. They also ask forgiveness from their loved ones. It is rare for a suicide victim to stay Earthbound as a ghost, as it is for anyone. In addition, their loved ones in spirit welcome them and encourage them to cross over.

AN EXCEPTION
However, if suicide victims hold strict religious beliefs, they may opt to stay Earth-bound for fear of "hell."  There is, however, no 'hell,' just love and forgiveness on the other side (in the light). I've learned that people who hold fast to their religious beliefs and realize or think they've done something harmful to themselves or someone else during their lifetime, opt to sometimes stay Earthbound as a ghost.

BOTTOM LINE
Suicide victims, murder victims and anyone can cross over, and usually they do. So if you hear a medium who says they don't, and cites religion as the reason, the medium is not truly connected to spirit.
