Recently I saw a blog post from inyminy.com with a collection of old photographs that actually included ghosts. The first one in the collection was the most unusual. See what you think. The image is credited: Pixgood.
The Cooper Family Hanging Ghost?
This photo is dated in the mid-1950’s in a home in Texas. The Cooper family had just moved into an old house that they bought and decided to take this family photo. When it was developed (yes, they used film that had to be developed in 1950) to the left side of the photo appeared an upside down person that appeared to be hanging from the ceiling. What's interesting is that the face is blocked out. Additionally, the figure also appears larger than the women. Because no address was given for the home, it is impossible to trace back in records to see who may have died there.
LOOKING CLOSER - With Photoshop, I was able to zoom in and lighten the image of the upside-down ghost. One thing I saw was that the right arm actually cast a shadow. Ghosts don't cast shadows.
In addition, the "shadow" of the finger goes directly over the front of the candle and is not deflected on the other side of the candle.
So, between the shadow, and the fact that the figure is much larger than the adult women, I think that this photo is just a double exposure. It is curious though, how the face is blacked out.
