Paranormal Q and A: Are some people more perceptive to paranormal activities than others?

Each week, I'll answer a question about the paranormal, whether a general question, or one about human or animal ghosts (Earthbound) or spirits (crossed over). Here's this week's question: 

QUESTION:  Are some people more perceptive to paranormal activities than others and what are the reasons for your answer?

ANSWER:  Yes, some people are more perceptive than others for a number of reasons. First, it can run in a family. I have the gift and my mother and her father had it. Other people who don't inherit it, can develop it. Usually those who find it easier to tune in to Earth bound ghosts or spirits who have crossed over are optimists and / or are emotional. People who are pessimists and hide their emotions set up a blockade to spirit.  

  If you think about it, everyone has the ability. Did you ever walk into a room and sense that there was someone you may want to approach and talk with, as well as someone you want to avoid? You're reading their energy. Mediums do that with dead people (or pets).

My Experience: Some On-line Sites Steal Author's Books and Offer them Free

It takes a long time to write a book. Recently I learned that a website had somehow illegally downloaded one of my books, "Pets and the Afterlife" and has been allowing people to read it for FREE, without my permission.   That's a problem, because I didn't give anyone permission to do that, and it's not in the public domain.  My books, like most author's books, state that my permission is needed for any kind of distribution. So, I was  shocked when I learned about it. In today's blog, you'll learn WHY that matters, and what the website is, so you can check for your books. Fortunately- I DID get them to remove it.

  Books over 75 years old usually become public domain.  So for websites to illegally download and offer an author's content without permission is stealing.

LOTS OF THINGS GO INTO A WRITING  BOOK - What's involved in writing a book after writing is to edit it, proof it over and over, format it, pay a cover designer, assemble a marketing package, and promote it, arrange my own interviews, schedule my own appearances and pay to travel to fundraisers out of any income). 

HOW DID I DISCOVER IT?  Fortunately, I have Google Alerts set up on the titles of my books, and I recommend ALL Authors do the same. The daily Google alert picked up that a website called  Lecarre Mulhouse  offered my book to the world for free. I was upset to say the least. 

HOW DID IT HAPPEN? I honestly don't know how they got a PDF copy of it. .. . I never, ever have sent PDFs to people as promotions.

WHY THIS MATTERS - I'm a self-published author, and that means I don't make much money on my books, despite my heavy self-promotions, interviews, etc.  As an author, if someone buys a paperback for $10, I receive less than $1.00 (actually less). With Ebooks on Kindle,   I receive  a percentage of the $2.99 cost. I use that money to do fundraisers for animal rescues, so I can help them raise money for shelter pets, and bring comfort and healing to people that attend the lectures I give.

WHAT DOES COPYRIGHT MEAN? - Getting something copyrighted means the exclusive legal right belongs to an originator or an assignee to print, publish, perform, film, or record literary, artistic, or musical material, and to authorize others to do the same. Distributions and sales or giving the product free of charge is prohibited.

NOTE: The text about copyright should always be found on one of the first pages of your book. 

HOW I FIXED IT- On their website there is a contact page, but their "About" page doesn't tell me who they are, where they are, or how they  can offer people's works for free. I followed their guidance  and emailed the webmaster.  The next day, the webmaster emailed me confirming they had removed my book from their site. 

BOTTOM LINE: If you're downloading a book from a website that isn't Amazon (in the case of my book), and one that offers it free, then you may be stealing it. As a self-published author, I am able to price my books at the lowest allowable price so people can afford them and get the comfort and relief they need. If you can't afford it, please go to a Library and check it out.

My Pets and the Afterlife books are filled with readings that I've done for pet parents who have lost dogs, cats, birds, horses and other pets. Recently, James wrote me about the passing of his dog Winnie, and Winnie came through with a number of things, but two really stood out. She named a person she was with on the other side and showed me how the person was dressed. Here's part of the reading and James' confirmation (This isn't in a Pets book because it just happened!).  Here are those things from the reading and James' confirmation:

I wrote to James:   Winnie is telling me there is a woman on the other side named Elizabeth or Liz. (I keep seeing a friend of mine with that name- that's how spirits convey things).  She's wearing a dress of  what looks like a Scottish pattern (I'm guessing that would be a plaid kind of pattern). Win doesn't know what it's called, but is showing that pattern to me. That person is connected to you. That person was also there bringing Winnie into the light. 

James wrote back with this amazing confirmation: In 2019 my wife, Leslie visited with an older alum by the name of Elizabeth. Elizabeth enjoyed Leslie's company they and stayed in touch. [Elizabeth since passed]. He said, " I shared your reading with my wife who showed me her selfie she had taken with Elizabeth. Elizabeth was wearing a tartan wrap in the photo "

I wrote to James:  She is conveying to me that she was a "gentle giant." AIt's difficult for me to ascertain how large she was, but perhaps she felt giant! She's also forever grateful for the care and love she had in your family.

James also confirmed Win's feelings conveyed to me, when he wrote me back and said, "You also picked up on the fact she felt giant. That was true, for most of her life she would duck down when we crossed under an overpass like she feared she would hit her head. In her mind and in my world Win was bigger than life."

 Last week, I returned as a guest on the UK's on-line amazing 80s music station, Chat and Spin Radio and got to talk with Ron Clark, the host, about my new Pets and the Afterlife 3 book. 5 Questions From an Email: and My Answers: Spirits, pets, Seeing spirits and more

 In December, I received an email from a gentleman whose dog passed, and he had
5 really interesting questions about what happens when a pet passes, where they go, how living pets see them, and more. Below are my responses to the questions, and for more info, please check out my books "Pets and the Afterlife" and "Pets and the Afterlife 2" and "Pets and the Afterlife 3" available on Amazon.   Now, onto the Questions and Answers>>> 

 1)  QUESTION:  A spirit's world must be different.  Are they in a dark place?

ANSWER: No. They are in a light place. Once we pass (all living things go to the same place, into the light)., the world is different. Our memories, personality and knowledge combine with the physical energies within us, and then we either stay Earthbound as what I call a "Ghost" or cross over into the light, as what I call a "Spirit." 99% of pets cross into the light and become spirits, because our loved ones (human) on the other side are there to greet them.    The other side has been described by spirit people and animals to me as full of light, peaceful and wide open- I picture energy soaring through space with the ability to go anywhere at any time. 

  2) QUESTION:  When another dog sees them in spirit does that dog think that that's my dog?  Or what is he seeing?

ANSWER:   Yes, living dogs can see spirits and Earthbound ghosts. As I wrote in my two Pets and the Afterlife books, dogs have  a different physiology in their eyes (cones and rods configuration) that enables them to see faster movement- the vibrational frequency in which spirits move. Dogs can also hear them as they speak at a different frequency that humans can't hear (Paranormal investigators use a digital recorder to pick up voice from spirit or ghosts). The units of frequency are called hertz (Hz). Humans with normal hearing can hear sounds between 20 Hz and 20,000 Hz. Frequencies above 20,000 Hz are known as ultrasound.

  Nate has been sometimes laying on the floor watching you. Spirits visit for short times, usually around birthdays, anniversaries or holidays, or when we need their help.   

3) QUESTION: Every once in a while I will see a dog act like he is looking at something that is not visible to me. He doesn't get excited or exhibit much emotion like when he hears the dog next door, he just watches. So I guess maybe he doesnt know who/what it is?  

ANSWER:  When dogs see spirit, sometimes they get confused because the spirit visiting may not have enough energy (they need energy to appear, make noises, etc) to re-create their scent. Since dogs really identify others mostly by scent, it doesn't make sense when they can see someone and not smell them.  That's often why they stare at a spirit (which doesn't look like anything is there, to us). They're trying to figure out where the scent of the spirit visitor is. 

4)  QUESTION:   Why does a ghost dog looks like a shadow or blur?

ANSWER:  It's all about energy. In my Pets and the Afterlife books, I explain that energy is the foundation of the paranormal. Ghosts and Spirits are beings of energy. As such, they require energy, whether physical or emotional energies (I explain about them in my books, and how it powers them) to manifest and create noises, etc. When they don't have enough energy, they appear as shadows. They're like a lightbulb that gets only a very low amount of energy and appears very, very dim. 

5) QUESTION:  Is the dog that passes always with us or does he progress or go somewhere else eventually?

ANSWER: I addressed this a bit in my first response, but the answer is that they don't stay with us 100% of the time in spirit. They don't belong here as a spirit. They're beings of energy. They join the energies of the cosmos/heaven/valhalla, etc. and join our loved ones in spirit there, as they wait for us to cross over. When we do, they''ll be there waiting for us.
