Tarot Tuesday with Joy Andreasen: Wheel of Fortune card

Today's Tarot Tuesday with my friend Joy Andreasen is about the Wheel of Fortune card.

Joy Says:
Big changes are coming, and today you may see evidence of the direction of the change. It is important to remain calm and centered in the face of uncertainty. Don't get blown off course by shifting emotions or blinding fears. Face changes with confidence and clear thinking.

THE CARD MEANING (From biddytarot.com)

UPRIGHT: Good luck, karma, life cycles, destiny, a turning point
REVERSED: Bad luck, resistance to change, breaking cycles

Wheel of Fortune Description

The Wheel of Fortune card shows a giant wheel, with three figures on the outer edges. Four Hebrew letters – YHVH (Yod Heh Vau Heh), the unpronounceable name of God – are inscribed on the wheel’s face. There are also the letters TORA, thought to be a version of the word Torah, meaning ‘law’, or TAROT, or even ROTA (Latin for ‘wheel’). The middle wheel has the alchemical symbols for mercury, sulphur, water and salt – the building blocks of life and the four elements – and represents formative power.
On the outer circle is a snake, the Egyptian god Typhon (the god of evil), descending on the left side. The snake also represents the life force plunging into the material world. On the right side rises the Anubis, the Egyptian God of the dead who welcomes souls to the underworld. And on top of the wheel sits the Sphinx, representing knowledge and strength.
In the corners of the Wheel of Fortune card are four winged creatures, each associated with the four fixed signs of the Zodiac: the angel is Aquarius, the eagle is Scorpio, the lion is Leo, and the bull is Taurus. Their wings signify stability amidst movement and change, and each holds the Torah, representing wisdom.

Bristol England Hauntings #10: The Starved Monk of Vassals Park

One of my books is called "Ghosts of England on a Medium's Vacation" and is all about the various ghosts I met when I took 2 vacations in England. Recently, Bristol Live in the UK ran a series about haunted places in Bristol, so on this blog,  you'll read about 1 each week for the next several weeks!      Meanwhile if you want to read about the ghosts I met (Queens, shop owners, members of the royal court, Tavern workers, Shakespeare's sister, and even a dog, check out my book on Amazon.com.  Now, onto the hauntings in Bristol, England:

The starved monk of Vassals Park

Vassels Park
Vassels Park
There used to be a building on the land at Vassals Park, and legend has it a Catholic Monk used it as a place to hold mass at a time when it was illegal to do so.

When visitors came to the building, the monk was hidden away in a "priest hole" in the house, so as not to be discovered.

But it is rumoured that he was once left in the priest hole, where he starved to death.

There have been multiple reported sightings of a monk walking through solid objects and there have also been sightings of a hooded figure floating on a footbridge in the park.

A Nice Note About my Pets and the Afterlife books

It's always nice to hear a good word from anyone and this note on my facebook page about my Pets and the Afterlife books made my day:

Pam Korzon-Zangardi After reading your book I realized that my cat had reached out to me from the beyond to let me know her sudden illness and subsequent passing was not my fault and she was not mad at me for decisions I made. THANK YOU!

To a pet parent, to lose a pet means to lose a child. The love we share with our pets never dies, and the author proves our pets do communicate with us from the other side. Learn how dogs, cats, horses and some birds have the intelligence and ability to send signs to the living after they pass. Take comfort in knowing our pets are around us from time to time and recognize the signs they give. Learn how they wait for us when it’s our time, what a pet’s ashes can do, and the difference between ghosts and spirits. Learn how and why living pets can sense entities. Q&A: Will Spirits Find Me if I Move?

Today's blog is about whether spirits can find us if we relocate or go to a place they don't
Spirits can find you anywhere
know. To understand that you need to know there's a difference between a ghost and and spirit. I explain that in depth in my books "Ghosts and Spirits" and "Lessons Learned from Talking to the Dead." Here's the answer to the question, after a brief refresher:

Ghosts are Earthbound. They are the energy and conciousness of people or animals that decided to stay on earth at a location of their choosing. They cannot move from there unless they accompany a living person out of that enviroment. (there's much more in the books).

Spirits are those energies of the formerly living that crossed over and joined the energy running through the cosmos. You can think of it as Heaven, Paradise, Valhalla, etc. They can go anywhere at any time. (More info in my books).

Q: Mom died six weeks ago, and we had her cremated. We have her urn in the living room. We haven't sensed her presence yet, but I'm trying to keep an open mind about it. If she is inclined to visit, but Dad and I move to another house, would she be able to find us if we put the urn in the new house? Or would she only be able to look for us in the house she'd lived in?

A: Your Mom is a spirit. Her energy is connected to you by the love you share, like an invisible tether. Since spirits (who have crossed over) can go anywhere she will always be able to find you wherever you move.  Spirits can find you anywhere in the world you travel. In 2009, the spirit of my puppy Buzz made himself known to me when I was on vacation in Puerto Rico (see my "Pets and the Afterlife" books).

Spirits have the ability to go anywhere in the world at any time and can even appear in more than one place at the same time (defying physics!)

You can read more about it in my books "Ghosts and Spirits" and "Lessons Learned from Talking to the Dead" available in paperback and E-book on Amazon.com

IGT Paranormal Investigation in Bldg Rob and Troy Heaviness in Room

Energy is the foundation of the afterlife. In all the talks I give, I explain that the afterlife really has nothing to do with whatever religion you are or are not. It's about Energy. As I also explain in my 4 books, every living thing has physical energies running through their bodies. Think of blood pumping, or the little electrical impulses that happen in our brains when we have thoughts. That's all energy. So, when we die, we become energy. Sometimes that energy stays behind on Earth as a Ghost, Other times it crosses over into the light and we become a spirit. But energy can also be left behind and impressed in walls, on furniture and on objects. Such was the case in this Inspired Ghost Tracking investigation I took part in years ago. The IGT Team was called into to determine the noises and appearances of figures in a building being renovated in Virginia. This is a short video of when I walked into a room, and asked Troy, another medium in the group, what his impressions were. Short Video Intro to my Book: "Ghosts of England: On a Medium's Vacation."

Here's a short promo video about my fun book "Ghosts of England: On a Medium's Vacation."
I wrote this book after taking 2 trips to England for vacation. I always carry a journal with me on travel so I can remember what I see. I didn't expect to "see" and meet a lot of ghosts, but everywhere I went, some dead person (and even 1 ghost dog) wanted to communicate with me!!

ABOUT THE BOOK: **What happens when a medium goes on vacation?
Can a medium simply switch off their ability at will? Well…not exactly.
Rob Gutro is a medium/author/paranormal investigator and a scientist who has written 4 books about his encounters with human and animal ghosts and spirits.
In this book, you will read about his experiences on two separate trips to the United Kingdom. England’s rich history and many epic battles have caused an over-abundance of residual emotional energy. Everywhere he traveled, he had a paranormal experience. He explored royal palaces and spent the night in haunted castles. He encountered the ghosts of historical figures including a queen, a prince, and a nobleman; and several ghosts even shared their pain of death experience with him.
On one occasion, the doppelganger of a loved one provided directions when he became lost while driving in the countryside due to a malfunctioning GPS. But not all of his encounters were of the human variety: there was also a very special visit from a canine ghost.
This book is intended to be more than just a collection of personal ghost stories. In addition to relating my ghostly encounters, he has also included a short narrative history of the places where the experiences occurred. After all, knowing the history of a place is key to understanding why a ghost has decided to stay behind.
So, join Rob as he relates his encounters with the ghosts of England. Rob has written 4 other books about the paranormal, two about people (Ghosts and Spirits and Lessons Learned From Talking to the Dead) and 2 about pets (Pets and the Afterlife and Pets and the Afterlife 2). The books are available in paperback and e-book on Amazon.com.

Today's Tarot Tuesday: 2 of Wands

Today's Tarot Tuesday with my friend Joy Andreasen is about the 2 of Wands  !

Joy Says:

If you have been longing for adventure or even planning a trip, today's card may be for you. The key to success is to go over all the details and make sure you have thought of how you will put your plan into action. The only warning of this card is don't attempt to escape fate.

THE CARD MEANING (From biddytarot.com)
UPRIGHT: Future planning, progress, decisions, discovery REVERSED: Personal goals, inner alignment, fear of unknown, lack of planning
Two of Wands Description: The Two of Wands shows a man, dressed in a red robe and hat, holding a small globe. The world is literally in his hands, marking the enormous potential before him if he can expand his horizons accordingly. He stands within the confines of his castle, suggesting that while he is contemplating significant opportunities, the man has not yet left his comfort zone to pursue them; he is still very much in the planning phase. His hand rests on an upright wand, and a second wand is affixed to the castle’s wall, a further sign that he is still not ready to venture out. In the background, the land is fertile while also rocky, promising that he has a good chance for success, so long as he can overcome the challenges that will arise.

The girl on horseback at Stoke Park

The Dower House
The Dower House
The Dower House, situated in Stoke Park, is one of Bristol's most recognisable buildings as it overlooks the M32 on the way in to the city.

Both the house and grounds of Stoke Park are believed to be haunted by one its former residents. Seventeen-year-old Elizabeth Somerset fell from her horse in 1760 and broke her neck. Her ghost is said to still ride around the park.

Walkers in the park often report hearing the sound of horses' hooves in the woodland, but no horses have had access to the land for decades.
