Weeping nun at Arnos Manor Hotel
Arnos Manor Hotel was originally a large private home, complete with its own chapel run by nuns from a local school. Legend
has it that one of the nuns fell pregnant and took her own life, and
the other nuns bricked her up in a wall to try to keep the scandal under
wraps.
The hotel was damaged by a bomb during the Second World
War, and when repair works got underway the nun's skeleton was
reportedly discovered and moved by workmen.
There have multiple
reports of a figure in brown at the hotel, and some people are said to
have heard a soft female voice weeping and calling them by name. Most of
the activity has been reported in room 160.
I didn't know that my friend Lauren ordered my new book "Kindred Spirits" until she sent me this email a couple of weeks ago and it was freaky! I'll preface this by saying that Lauren didn't know anything about Ed, the topic of the Kindred Spirits book. Her email to me clearly indicated to me that Ed's spirit dropped in and visited her to thank her for reading about him, knowing that she would tell me! Here''s what she wrote:
Rob- Today, I went out to the patio behind our building which is
in the sun and has tables and decided to pull out my kindle to read for a
few minutes. I downloaded Kindred Spirits last night, so I opened it up
and began to read.
I want to set the stage that I am sitting outside, in the sun, by
myself, and there are noises in the background...like a yard crew with a
leaf blower around the corner, and people walk by on the sidewalk
occasionally.
While I was reading, a noise caught my
attention, like the sound you hear in a marina when a halyard bangs into
a sailboat mast. It happened three times in succession and I looked up
and looked around and couldn't find the source of the sound. Things had
become very quiet and all the other noises
had stopped.
It sounded like someone trying to get my attention, so I
closed my eyes and I had a vision of a man with dark hair, but it was
blurry and black and white. I opened my eyes, decided that I was trying
to think about Ed because I was reading about
him, and went back to reading.
On the very next page I came to Ed's
physical description, and you described him as "handsome, with dark hair
and a nice smile. I got goosebumps because the man I saw was sort of in
a half profile, not smiling, but did have dark
hair. I turned the next page and nearly fell out of my chair because the
photo of Ed in the book.....its blurry, he has dark hair, isn't
smiling, and its black and white...it was him.
the blurry photo of Ed
I am already second guessing myself. The fleeting picture I saw in my
mind was like a fuzzy radio signal. But, then on the next page, there he
was. "Pages" in a kindle can vary based on what size font you are
looking at, so I don't know for certain what the
pages are in the hard copy. But, man. I swear I saw him before I saw his
picture. I don't know what to make of it.
Everyone likes videos and I decided to make a video intro and tell you a little about my new book.
In this Video Introduction! you'll hear me tell you about my book "Kindred Spirits: How a Medium Befriends a Spirit"
ABOUT THE BOOK It's uncommon for a medium really get know a spirit so
well that the living https://tinyurl.com/yybwrvr4 person considers the spirit a best friend. But
that's exactly what happened to medium and paranormal investigator Rob
Gutro. When Rob met his partner Tom in 2005, Ed's spirit came along for
the ride. Rob never knew Ed in life, but Tom did. Now, Ed often
communicates to Rob and has revealed his sense of humor, his heart, and
helped solved the mystery of his passing. Ed's "Spirit Treasure Hunt"
showed his family he's with them, too. Ed even sent a look-alike to
rescue Rob during a vacation in England. As you read about this special
spirit named Ed and his sometimes funny communications, you'll learn
signs your loved ones send. This book will teach you how to be more
aware of messages from your loved ones in spirit.

Screams of hanged men on Christmas Steps
Anybody who has climbed Christmas steps on a cold, dark
night will confirm that there's something decidedly eerie about the
place.
The steps were the original way up to the gallows at the
top of St Michael's Hill, and people have reported hearing the screams
of people being led to their death. Not only that, it is rumoured that
the houses on the south side of the street are built on top of an old
cemetery.
Various ghosts have been reported haunting Christmas
steps over the years, including a young girl who is said to have drowned
in the River Frome, which once came up to the foot of the steps.

A Big Thank You to Rob Gutro for another amazing presentation on
"Pets, Grief and the Afterlife".
On Saturday, August 24th,
ARRI hosted returning guest speaker and pet medium/paranormal
investigator/author Rob Gutro, for a presentation on Pets, grief and the
afterlife. At this special event Rob discussed several
topics related to the loss of pets, such as dealing with the grief of
losing a beloved pet and how to recognize the signs they send us from
the hereafter. Rob has been a longtime supporter of ARRI, and we hope
to once again host him and his wonderful talents
in the future!

Here's an amazing story that will give you chills. It's apparent, because of the way the butterflies behaved (oddly) that they were in fact being guided by the Groom's late sister.
Here's the story:
They Released Butterflies For The Groom's Late Sister, Then This Happened
Max Van Gorder lost his younger sister
Vanessa in a car accident on Christmas Day a few years back. Vanessa was
special to him and just as special to his girlfriend, Lydia.
When
Max and Lydia married in their home state of Pennsylvania last June,
they knew they wanted to honor Vanessa in some way. Their plan was to
have Max’s parents release a flurry of monarch butterflies in their
daughter’s memory during the ceremony. (A fitting tribute, given that
the name Vanessa is also a species of butterfly.)
As
“Somewhere Over The Rainbow” played, Max’s parents did just that, but
then something surprising happened: The butterflies didn’t want to
leave.
“After they were released,
about half of them flew off above our heads, while the other half
hovered over the groom’s parents and clung onto them,” photographer
Jessica Manns told HuffPost. “Max’s dad had a butterfly perched on his
finger for the entire ceremony. It just clung to him.”
The
beautiful photos, captured at Fox Hill Farm, a barn in Honesdale,
Pennsylvania, quickly went viral when Manns posted them on Facebook late last month.
In her post, Manns said the moment was “probably the most emotional thing I’ve witnessed at a wedding.”
“The family’s reaction seemed to be a
mixture of awe that they were hovering around them so closely and
reverence for the butterflies and what they were witnessing,” she told
us. “There was just a lot of emotion as they thought of Vanessa and her
spirit.”
Two
of the butterflies landed on Lydia’s wedding dress as she walked down
the aisle after saying “I do” ― and when cocktail hour rolled around, a
few flew onto the bride’s bouquet and chilled there for a bit.
A
few hours later, during the speech portion of the reception, a single
monarch swooped into the barn, seemingly out of nowhere, and landed
right on Lydia’s neck.
“Everyone
in the room who could see gasped and Lydia had such a surprised
reaction,” Manns said. “It stayed on her face for the remainder of the
speeches. It was pretty remarkable since the reception happened hours
after the ceremony inside an enclosed barn that was a good distance from
the ceremony spot.”
On Facebook, the bride thanked the photographer for capturing “such a special and loving moment” during her big day.
“Vanessa was with us there and throughout the night,” she wrote.
It's always nice to hear a good word from anyone and this note on my facebook page about my Pets and the Afterlife books made my day:
Melynda AntoinettePam
Korzon-Zangardi my cat has shown me many signs! Thanks to Rob's books, I
was able to acknowledge and recognize the signs, accept them, be
thankful for my cat in sending his hundreds of signs. I released any
anger or guilt (still a tiny guilt as I have
dreams he is still around. We had to put him to sleep due to his
continual heart failure. His life would have gotten worse but I fear we
did it too early). He assured me it was the right time by sending us two
orange brother tabbies up for adoption the same day/hour we received
his ashes. I recommend Rob's book to anyone I know grieving. His books
have also brought me to a more spiritual life (as opposed to a specific
religion). I have opened up to the metaphysical as well. I feel much
happier with life AND death. I am able to let things go easier than
before.

with us from the other side. Learn how dogs, cats, horses and some birds
have the intelligence and ability to send signs to the living after
they pass. Take comfort in knowing our pets are around us from time to
time and recognize the signs they give. Learn how they wait for us when
it’s our time, what a pet’s ashes can do, and the difference between
ghosts and spirits. Learn how and why living pets can sense entities.

Murdered man haunts The Odeon Cinema
The Odeon Cinema, at the bottom of Union Street in the city centre
, was the scene of a murder in 1946. Local legend has it that the
cinema's manager, Robert Parrington Jackson, was shot in a bungled
robbery. The case has always remained unsolved, and it is said
the ghost of Robert still haunts the building. There have been many
sightings of a male figure at the cinema, but legend has it the ghost
only appears to females.
