One of my books is called "Ghosts of England on a Medium's Vacation"
and is all about the various ghosts I met when I took 2 vacations in
England. Recently, Bristol Live in the UK ran a series about haunted
places in Bristol, so on this blog, you'll read about 1 each week for
the next several weeks! Meanwhile if you want to read about the
ghosts I met (Queens, shop owners, members of the royal court, Tavern
workers, Shakespeare's sister, and even a dog, check out my book on Amazon.com. Now, onto the hauntings in Bristol, England:
The monk of All Saints Church in Clifton
All Saints Church in BristolIn the 1840s, local Bristol newspapers reported a haunting at a house joined to the All Saints Church in Clifton . The
ghost was said to be that of a an old man, and the family living in the
house, the Jones's, were terrified by his presence, so much so that Mrs
Jones reportedly felt the urge to jump out of a window. The
couple reported seeing a light flickering on one of the walls in the
house, and Mr. Jones was said to be so scared that he was reduced to a
trembling ball on the floor.
The church and grounds are also
believed to be haunted by a monk in black who is said to have returned
to watch over treasure he had hidden in the grounds.
If you haven't read my new book "Kindred Spirits: How a Spirit Befriended a Medium" you should! It's an amazing story of how a spirit named Ed has befriended me over 14 years of constant communication. Here's a recent Amazon review of the book:
I
read this book less than a week after euthanizing my dog. I read all
of Rob's books so when this became available I ordered it. Several
parts of this book felt like they were written just for me, answering
questions I had swirling in my head. I believe in Rob and feel he is
the real deal. He has something very special and a pure heart. I found
this book to be interesting and amazing and I can see a spirit being
attracted to Rob because of his honesty and goodness. Ed wanted to
bring a message and knew to trust Rob to give it. I totally can
understand that. Through Rob's books I am learning to trust my own
ability to communicate with my own departed love ones. If you are
hurting from the loss of someone you love don't hesitate to read this
book or any other of Rob's books. It will bring you comfort at this
painful time in your life.
ABOUT THE BOOK:Kindred Spirits: When a Medium Befriends a Spirit - It's uncommon for a medium really get
know a spirit so well that the living person considers the spirit a best
friend. But that's exactly what happened to medium and paranormal
investigator Rob Gutro. When Rob met his partner Tom in 2005, Ed's
spirit came along for the ride. Rob never knew Ed in life, but Tom did.
Now, Ed often communicates to Rob and has revealed his sense of humor,
his heart, and helped solved the mystery of his passing. Ed's "Spirit
Treasure Hunt" showed his family he's with them, too. Ed even sent a
look-alike to rescue Rob during a vacation in England. As you read about
this special spirit named Ed and his sometimes funny communications,
you'll learn signs your loved ones send. This book will teach you how to
be more aware of messages from your loved ones in spirit. "Being a
friend with Ed in spirit is like having a friend who lives in another
state" - Author Rob Gutro describing his relationship with Ed's spirit.
In my books, Pets and the Afterlife and Pets and the Afterlife 2, I wrote about many ways that our pets can communicate with us after they pass away. Recently, I received a beautiful experience from Mary, whose beloved dog, Emmy passed away. Mary gave me permission to share her story, in hopes that it helps others understand that their pets can communicate the same way. Here's Mary's experience (and a photo of her beautiful dog, Emmy): Hi Rob- My Emmy really came through to let me know she is still with me two weeks after we said goodbye. I was over my son's house in PA babysitting. Emmy always came with me. This is the first time [I was there] without her. I was missing her a lot and I said that out loud. Later that night, I was in bed and I was talking to her saying how I wish she was there. It didn't feel right without her there. I turned out the light and was trying to fall asleep. I was lying on my side and I felt something nudge me on the side. Then I felt something walking all over the bed. I didn't move because I wanted to concentrate and make sure I wasn't imagining it. It was without a doubt something walking on my bed. I then said okay go to sleep and it stopped. I turned the light on and I looked around. I had the spread off the bed but on the top sheet I saw little indentations like paw prints! I should have taken a picture but I was stunned. I finally went to sleep and woke up smiling and happy. I been smiling all day. My baby let me know she was with me like she always was.

Here's a brand new podcast of an interview I just did with Irene and Phillip at Paranormal UK Radio. This is a fun fact-filled, experience laden 2 hour podcast where Rob Gutro talks about his new book "Kindred Spirits" and how Ed's spirit befriended him and the funny side of his communications. Of course, we also touched base about pets in the afterlife (based on Rob's 2 books) because Ed was there for both of Rob's dogs on the other side. It was a fun and fascinating podcast! Back in
2010, when I developed a Twitter page for my first book, Ghosts and
Spirits, I wasn't very creative. So I named it "GhostMediumBook." Recently, I realized that I could change it, so I made it "RobGutroAuthor" now! So if you have Twitter and find it easy to follow someone there. here's the new URL: https://twitter.com/RobGutroAuthor
Today's blog is addressed to anyone who finds me through interviews, facebook or other means and have never read one of my books (which I wrote to help YOU see signs without needing a medium).
Some things to know:
1) I don't do readings for a living. (or make appts for them)
2) I'm a meteorologist in my full time job.
3) I wrote several books to explain how YOU can see signs from your loved ones without a
medium.
4) TO FIND SIGNS: "Ghosts and Spirits" and
"Lessons Learned from Talking to the Dead" explain how you can see
all different signs from those in HUMAN spirit!
"Pets and the Afterlife" and "Pets and the Afterlife 2" explain how pets communicate from spirit.
They're on Amazon .com for
less than $10 each- so I recommend you read one to teach yourself what
to look for instead of spending
a lot of money on mediums.
4) Go on Amazon and type in "Rob Gutro" to find my books.
Today's Tarot Tuesday with my friend Joy Andreasen is about the Death Card!
Joy Says: Death is not always about physical passing from this life to
the next. Sometimes it symbolizes a huge change or transformation in
your life. One aspect of life has to die in order for the next
expression of your soul to begin. It is okay to grieve the loss.
Namaste.
THE CARD MEANING (From biddytarot.com) UPRIGHT: Endings, change, transformation, transition REVERSED: Resistance to change, personal transformation, inner purging
Death Description
The
Death card shows the Messenger of Death – a skeleton dressed in black
armor, riding a white horse. The skeleton represents the part of the
body which survives long after life has left it; the armor symbolizes
invincibility and that death will come no matter what. Its dark color
is that of mourning and the mysterious, while the horse is the color of
purity and acts as a symbol of strength and power. Death carries a
black flag decorated with a white, five-petal rose, reflecting beauty,
purification and immortality and the number five representing change.
Together, these symbols reveal that death isn’t just about life ending.
Death is about endings and beginnings, birth and rebirth, change and
transformation. There is beauty in death, and it is an inherent part of
being alive.
A royal figure appears to be dead on the ground, while a young woman,
child and bishop plead with the skeletal figure to spare them. But, as
we all know, death spares no one.
In the background, a boat floats down the river, akin to the
mythological boats escorting the dead to the afterlife. On the horizon,
the sun sets between two towers (which also appear in the Moon Tarot
card), in a sense dying each night and being reborn every morning.

Theatrical ghosts of Bristol Old Vic
Bristol Old Vic, or The Theatre Royal as it was once known, is Britain's oldest working theatre.
The
historic venue on King Street is well-known to ghost-hunters, and both
staff and audience members have reported drops in temperature, the
sensation of somebody brushing past them, and even a strange, sweet
smell that comes and goes.
The theatre is said to be home to at least two ghosts.
The
first is a lady dressed in black who is believed to be either famous
actress Sarah Siddonss reliving her glory days or Sarah Macready, the
widow of a theatre manager who cannot bear to leave the place she loved
most in life. The other ghost is that of a man killed in an
accident at the theatre. Known as Richard, the ghost moves objects
around backstage and turns lights on and off.
