Q: How much do you charge for your work? How advanced would
you say that your work is?
A: I don't charge anything. I wrote books to teach people
how to find the signs from their loved ones (people and pets) so they don't
need a medium. I'm also a meteorologist
full time, so that's how I make my living. If I get a message for someone, I pass it along at no
cost. - I call myself a "medium rare" because I don't give in depth
personal readings. That requires a lot of concentration and meditation, and my
mind is always going! I can recommend my friend Ruth Larkin, the Beantown
Medium, for great in-depth personal readings.

Haunted Road Media ParaCon Rocks!

Mike Ricksecker said: I’m very happy to say that our very first Haunted Road Media ParaCon, held at the haunted Mineral Springs Hotel in Alton, Illinois, was a smashing success. With hundreds in attendance (we never did get an accurate head count), more than 60 that attended the Saturday night paranormal investigation, the consistently full Crystal Room for the speakers, and music from John Shanahan that rocked, we all had an amazing time in a convergence of Haunted Road Media authors, paranormal investigators, explorers, and other writers and vendors.
The memories remain vivid, and for me personally, I can’t help but to continue smiling at the images in my mind of friends of mine from all parts of the country, who may have become acquainted online, but were meeting each other for the first time.

It first hit me on Friday night when we were meeting up for a Haunted Road Media author dinner, and while I was walking toward the front of the Mineral Springs lobby with Shana at my side, there was Vanessa Hogle, Rob Gutro, and Lee Ehrlich all in a semi-circle meeting each other for the first time.
It was also the first time Shana was meeting Vanessa and Rob, the former of which gave a mega-hug, a meeting of sister souls, and the latter of which had so many similar experiences while investigating the old hotel that Shana and Rob are now collaborating on a story for the next Encounters With The Paranormal book.
I have to absolutely thank all the speakers for presenting at this ParaCon: Vanessa Hogle and Katie Hopkins, Amelia Cotter, Lee Ehrlich, Chris Sutton, Chuck Banks, Rob Gutro, Michelle Hamilton, Dale Kaczmarek, and Mark Foster. I also have to give a huge thank you to Bonnie Halperin for all of the food she set up for the speakers and vendors, something I know was appreciated by all. Many thanks to John Shanahan for the great music and setting a fantastic vibe for the whole event. A big thank you goes out to Dave and Donna Nunnally for helping facilitate the event and putting the wheels in motion to make it all happen. And, of course, I couldn’t have done any of this without the help of Shana. And… to all the other vendors and to all the guests who showed up and partook in this amazing event, we all sincerely thank you.

On the night before the paracon, all of the vendors, including me, got to participate in a private paranormal investigation of the VERY haunted former hotel. I had a lot of experiences which will appear in a future book. The night of the paracon, we again did an investigation, but this time with about 75 members of the public. Of course, there were many more sensations and run-ins with ghosts this time around. In fact, 5 different times, ghosts made both Shana Wankel (also a medium) and I experience the exact same things!

A: After our physical bodies die, the energy within couples
with our memories, personality and knowledge. We make a choice to stay
Earthbound at a fixed location - what I call a ghost, or cross over and join
the energies of the universe- which I call a spirit.
Think of spirits
as photons of light - so yes, they can see us. In the paranormal field we use
electromagnetic field detectors - similar to what an electrician uses to detect
an electrical current.
