A Wonderful Sign from a Beautiful Dog In Spirit!

In my books, Pets and the Afterlife and Pets and the Afterlife 2, I wrote about many ways that our pets can communicate with us after they pass away. Recently, I received a beautiful experience from Mary, whose beloved dog, Emmy passed away. Mary gave me permission to share her story, in hopes that it helps others understand that their pets can communicate the same way.
  Here's Mary's experience (and a photo of her beautiful dog, Emmy):
 
Hi Rob- My Emmy really came through to let me know she is still with me two weeks after we said goodbye. 
   I was over my son's house in PA babysitting. Emmy always came with me. 
This is the first time [I was there] without her. I was missing her a lot and I said that out loud. 
    Later that night, I was in bed and I was talking to her saying how I wish she was there. It didn't feel right without her there.
   I turned out the light and was trying to fall asleep. I was lying on my side and I felt something nudge me on the side. Then I felt something walking all over the bed. I didn't move because I wanted to concentrate and make sure I wasn't imagining it. It was without a doubt something walking on my bed. 
   I then said okay go to sleep and it stopped. I turned the light on and I looked around. I had the spread off the bed but on the top sheet I saw little indentations like paw prints! 
   I should have taken a picture but I was stunned. I finally went to sleep and woke up smiling and happy. I been smiling all day. My baby let me know she was with me like she always was.

A Thanks for Sprite's Chapter in Pets and the Afterlife

Last month I received an email from a woman named Mary, who asked about her dog Emmy. She also shared this note of thanks for the chapter I wrote in my book "Pets and the Afterlife" (by Rob Gutro) about making the fateful decision for our dog Sprite in 2013. I'm glad to see that my books are helping bring comfort and understanding to people who have experienced the same deep losses.:

Mary wrote: I finished your book and part of it really talked to me. The part you talk about euthanizing Sprite. You talked about your second guessing yourself. I felt you wrote that section of the book just for me. You described exactly what I was feeling. I am still working through that but it helped me to know that many people feel that way.

A Doberman's Striking Visible Appearance in Spirit

Recently I received an email from a woman whom I met at a New Hampshire rescue 9 months ago. She came to the event because her Doberman had recently passed. During the event, her dog, Max, kept nudging me to give her one of the 2 stuffed animals I brought with me, so she could hug it, and find comfort in knowing Max was around.

On July 26, she sent me this email about Max appearing to her:

I can't believe it's been 9 months since I lost my boy and met you at your talk in NH.   I was finally able to start reading your book yesterday, I haven't been able to pick it up until now.  A few months ago I woke during the night and when I opened my eyes and clear as day was a doberman standing in front of me at the side of my bed.  I began to get up assuming it was Shelby needing to go potty but when I look towards her bed, there she was sound asleep. When I looked back to the bed side he was gone, I know it had to be Max watching over me sleeping.  So far that is the one and only time he has appear as full bodied visual in that way.

Rob's note: . That was indeed Max! That's how it happens and Max appeared at the side of your bed to let you know that he is watching over you.    That takes a lot of energy to make a visible appearance. It's also rare.  That's a testament to the strong bond of love you share. I am so excited to hear this!

Many Signs from Jack the Cat in Spirit

Recently I received an email from Stephanie, whom heard my lecture in Salem, Mass. when I gave a

talk about how pets communicate from spirit. She wrote me to tell me about some amazing signs from her beloved cat in spirit. Here are her experiences: 

 

I lost my orange tabby, Jack, on Halloween after a short bout with some fast-acting cancer.  I'd had him since he was 4 months old and he was just 12 1/2 when he passed.  I still cry over him pretty much every day.  

I've had a couple of experiences similar to those that you spoke about - the first was the event after he passed away.  I had a very vivid dream that he had jumped up onto the bed but was there for only a moment.  He then jumped off and trotted out of the room (looking and moving all sleek and young and healthy) and I was able to reach out and run my hand along his back as he did so.  

 

(ROB'S NOTE: Being able to feel a spirit, even in a dream, is a sign of a much deeper connection - a very, very tight bond of love. That's what is called a "Visit" instead of just a dream. -  It takes a lot of energy for a spirit to provide those feelings, and that's a sign of the deep love you share.) 

Maybe a week or so later, also as I was asleep, I felt a warm lump against my back, where he liked to curl up.  Just recently, I thought I saw a shadow jumping into one of my closets.

(ROB'S NOTE: Feeling your cat or dog's spirit when you were sleeping or in twilight is also another strong sign that spirit is with you. Also, we see shadows of our pets and people because it takes too much energy to appear in full color).

Jack is still around in spirit!

Looking back on your talk, I'm trying to keep more open to signs that he might be trying to give me.  Every now and then, when I think of him, I hear/feel a purring in my right ear and have a vision of his freckled nose and whiskers right there.  I think the other cat who knew him (Chachi) still sees him every now and then.
