A Medium's Challenge: it's Sometimes Hard to Distinguish Parent vs. Grandparent

Grandparent vs. parent - which one in spirit?
As a medium, that is, someone who gets messages from the dead, either people or pets, it can be a challenge sometimes to distinguish between a Parent vs. Grandparent.

That's because if the grandparent was so loving and close to the person getting a reading, mediums may see them as parents. Case in point, my husband used to stay at his grandparents' house over the summer months every year as a kid. So, for those months, they were like parents to him. When a medium does a reading and sees an older woman or man coming through for him, they may identify his grandparents as "parents." Why? Because they were actually acting like his parents over the summer months for years.

How mediums wouldn't be confused is if the child didn't live with the grandparents, or of they had a somewhat distant relationship. In my case, one set of my grandparents were not close to me and my brothers. We never stayed over their house, they never cooked for us or took us anywhere. They were older and just wanted to live their lives without grandchildren around (it happens). So a medium like me would definitely identify them as grandparents because they're a step away from my actual parents.

Being a medium and getting messages or trying to figure out the identities of those in spirit is not an easy job. It's not like calling someone on Skype and asking their relationship. Sometimes mediums "See" the person in their minds (as I do) and feel a maternal or grandmaternal sense to identify them. Mediumship is a puzzle we have to put together, and we can only do that with the help from the person who is getting the message.
