Ten Most Bizarre Cemeteries: #10 Pere Lachaise, France

Today's blog will tell you about one of the 10 Most Bizarre Cemeteries In The World Recently
TheTravel.com did a series on the top 10, and I'm sharing them again here. BTW, cemeteries aren't haunted. Earth bound ghosts who chose to stay, stay at places they knew in life, a place where they died, lived or liked. However, spirits who have crossed over can come back and visit living people in cemeteries. Now, on to the bizarre cemetery of the day...

Pere Lachaise, France

Père Lachaise Cemetery, the largest cemetery in Paris, looks like a normal, albeit magnificent, Western cemetery, but within its gates lay the bodies of some of the most prominent figures in recent history. The most visited cemetery in the world, Père Lachaise is also noted for being the first garden cemetery and the first municipal cemetery in Paris.

The number of prominent, talented people laid to rest at Père Lachaise is countless, including Jim Morrison, Edith Piaf, Oscar Wilde, Frederic Chopin, Marcel Proust, and Sarah Bernhardt. If you want to be buried in Père Lachaise, you'll have to join the waiting list and live or die in Paris.

A Fascinating Paranormal Autobiography: Giving Up the Ghost

My friend Vanessa Hogle, a talented medium, has published a book about how she came to experience, understand and refine her abilities in a paranormal autobiography she calls   "Giving up the Ghost."
For anyone who has the abilities to get messages from earth bound ghosts or spirits who have crossed over, this is a must-read. For those of you who don't have them (or think you don't have them), you'll find this interesting, too!  Like many mediums (myself included) I didn't know how, when and if I should trust my abilities and the messages I receive. Vanessa walks you through her "coming out of the medium closet" experiences.
The book also contains experiences she had on paranormal investigations, and how she felt drawn to Louisiana. That kind of "draw" to a certain place usually indicates you lived there before, and Vanessa experienced that, too. Once I started reading it, I didn't want to put it down. I've also garnered a better insight to Vanessa's abilities and how another medium works. It's a great book.
  Here's her Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/VannessaHogleMediumAuthor/
- Rob

ABOUT THE BOOK: GIVING UP THE GHOST is a para-biography chronicling the mystic beginnings of a psychic medium. Discover what it's like growing up with that gift that seems cursed and the journey it takes to embrace it. Vanessa Hogle walks you through her psychic life, her humble beginnings, supernatural adventures in Oklahoma, New Orleans, and beyond!

Ten Most Bizarre Cemeteries: #9 Burial Spirit Houses, Alaska

Today's blog will tell you about one of the 10 Most Bizarre Cemeteries In The World Recently

Burial Spirit Houses, Alaska

If you lived in a house during life, you may as well have one in the afterlife. The burial spirit houses of Eklutna, Alaska, are a unique blend of Russian Orthodox and Alaskan native burial rites. The Dena'ina Tribe has called the area home since the 17th Century, and Russian missionaries brought their traditions in the 1830s.

While Dena'ina used to cremate their dead, they began using the cemetery after the missionaries arrived. Forty days after the burial, the little house is placed over the grave and painted. The house is then left to decay, as Dena'ina tradition is to let what comes from the Earth return to it.

Ten Most Bizarre Cemeteries: #8 Hanging Coffins of Sagada, Philippines

Today's blog will tell you about one of the 10 Most Bizarre Cemeteries In The World Recently

Hanging Coffins of Sagada, Philippines

Forget being buried, why not have your coffin strung up on the side of a cliff? The people of Sagada have been practicing this tradition for thousands of years. The elderly usually built their own coffins, and after their death, their coffin is hung on a cliff face or inside a tall cave, due to their belief that the higher your body is placed after death, the better chance of your soul reaching a higher place.

Sagada is located in Mountain Province on the island of Luzon in the Philippines, and there is a certain degree of difficulty in reaching it, but it is accessible outside of the rainy season.

A 5 Star Book Review I like for "Kindred Spirits: How a Medium Befriended a Spirit"

Book reviews mean a lot to authors on AmazonCom and it's encouraging to find people who are moved by your writings, inspired or have learned something. Here's a book review that was just posted on my latest book "Kindred Spirits: How a Medium Befriended a Spirit":

This book is everything you want and more. December 4, 2019
The title immediately grabbed my attention. As someone who believes in Spirit and supernatural. Knowing that someone has befriended a spirit completely intrigued. First I want to start off by saying is the book is for everyone to read, old or young. Skeptics or believers. It is put together in a very accessible way. While reading you do not feel like Rob is talking at you, it feels like he is in the room with you, talking face to face. He breaks down things is such a profound way that makes is very easy to understand. The book feels like an old friend taking your hand and walking you through very complex topics, in a manageable way. It has opened my mind to the possibly of people who have passed being around me. I thoroughly enjoyed every page. I shared a laugh, cry and love with the writer. If you are looking for a good read, please read. You will not be disappointed.
