Paranormal Q&A: Do you ever get hired from someone in the spirit realm?

Each week, I'll answer a question about the paranormal, whether a general question, or one about human or animal ghosts (Earthbound) or spirits (crossed over). Here's this week's question: 

Q: You have clients in the human world that hire you to talk to their loved ones, do you ever get hired from someone in the spirit realm?

A: I actually don't have clients in the human realm, because I don't accept money for any short readings I give (and I have given countless readings via email since 2010!). But to answer your other question, people and pets in the spirit realm (or earthbound ghosts) "hire" me all the time to pass along messages. Ghosts usually want help to cross over (because once they decided to stay, they're stuck for some reason). Spirits who have crossed usually want to let their loved ones know they're very much still around.

Why Do Pets have a burst of energy on the way to help them Cross?

One of the questions I get often about pets and the afterlife is actually about their behavior just before they cross over. Q: Why do pets show a burst of energy on the way to cross over?  

A: As I noted in my Pets and the Afterlife books, usually when dogs know that they are going to cross over - or their parents are taking them to the vet for their final goodbye, their adrenaline causes a surge of energy because they are happy and  excited to move on out of pain.  

My dog Sprite did that on his last day.  In days leading up to that day, he could barely walk, his kidneys were failing, he had a very bad heart murmur, he was almost blind and the final straw was when a tumor burst in his nose (and we took him home for one more night with our other canine kids).  On the trip to the vet he was energetic for the first time in many weeks and ate every treat we gave him (when he hadn't eaten food for days). So, they do show a rush of energy before they pass.

On June 6, I was the guest speaker at the Strathmore Mansion Special Afternoon Tea! I  gave a talk about "How Mediumship Works: Spirit Treasure Hunt"  about an amazing story that appears in my book "Lessons Learned from Talking to the Dead."

The room was full and it was wonderful to hear amazing experiences from others who had spirit visits. The teas are awesome. The soothing sounds a local cellist filled the room, as people enjoyed Afternoon Tea in the cozy atmosphere of The Shapiro Music Room at Strathmore. The music was awesome! A: I honestly don't watch a lot of mediums or ghost investigations on TV. Producers edit the programs to a fraction of the time filmed, in order to keep the viewer interested. - I've seen Lisa Williams in person (she was on TV for a short time) and she has a genuine gift. The Long Island Medium, Teresa Caputo also has a gift, but sometimes I think she asks for some information.  I'm unsure about the others on TV.
