Ghost in the House? Setting Some Ground Rules/Protection

I thought I would provide you  with a look at part of a chapter of one of my books to help out if you have a ghost in your house or know someone who does.

Setting Some Ground Rules/Protection

If you're not consulting someone that knows how to help Earth-bound ghosts cross over, you can at least set some ground rules.

First, you need to take a stand with the entity and tell them that this is "your house now." They don't belong there anymore. They may have owned this house at one time, but they have passed away, and you rightfully, legally own the home. Tell them to go into the light and join their relatives awaiting them on the other side. Portals of light can be found at funeral homes, hospitals, or even cemeteries, and they should cross over and achieve the peace they deserve.

If you can't get them to cross over, contact your local paranormal society or group, and tell them that you need an entity removed from your home. It's important to remember that a ghost was once a living, breathing person who chose to stay behind for some reason and is now trapped here because they don't know enough to cross into the light or even look for it. Some ghosts don't understand that they're dead and need to be told. Speak to the entity as if you were speaking to a living person in front of you.

While you're waiting for the entity to be removed, you may want to try the following to protect yourself, your family, and your pets (who are very sensitive to ghosts) from a ghost in your home. Imagine yourself and your family surrounded by God's white light of protection, kind of like a shield. This white light can be pictured around you whenever you go into a house that you may think is haunted or anywhere at any time. Usually when I get ready for sleep, I envision a white light around me and my family.

Watch for Signs from Spirits on Thanksgiving !

Holidays are a prime time to get messages from spirits of loved ones who have passed away. As I mention in my books "Ghosts and Spirits: Insights from a Medium" and "Lessons Learned from Talking to the Dead," our loved ones who passed are with us during holidays, birthdays and anniversaries.

Happy Thanksgiving- Your loved ones are with you!

  Think of it this way: During a holiday, birthday or anniversary you will usually either have friends and relatives over for dinner or call them and wish them a great day. It's no different from the other side. They want to do the same for us, because we can't pick up the phone - so they come to us!
   People who have passed and crossed over become spirits. Those who choose to stay behind on Earth are ghosts. Spirits have the ability to to come to people anywhere in the world, and even come to multiple people at the same time. Whenever the Holidays roll around, they are known to try and pass messages that they're there with the family as well.
  So, how do you look for signs from them?  
- If you turn on the radio today, Thanksgiving, and you hear their favorite Christmas song (because radio stations are already playing them) - the spirit has influenced you to turn on the radio to know they're with you.
- You may find yourself doing or saying something that your late mother,  father, sister, brother or friend would be doing, or saying. Spirits can influence us to do things and say things they used to.
- You may also see someone that resembles a late loved one if you're traveling about today.
   - Look for pennies or other coins on the ground. Check the year, too- because it has some significance. I was out walking our dogs this week and found a Quarter with the year 1981 on it. That was the year my grandmother passed, so guess who dropped that coin for me? 

-  On Thanksgiving 2011, my friend Lynn's brother Michael came to me with messages for her. He told me things I had no idea about, including that they had the same eye color. SO, be vigilant and don't dismiss happenings- our loved ones DO come back during the holidays to say "Merry Christmas" or "Happy Hanukkah."
  Wishing you and your loved ones a great Thanksgiving- and KNOW that those who have passed are still around your table. You just don't have to feed them! :)

Figuring Out if You Have a Haunting

Ghosts absorb physical energies and negative emotional energy. They also emit negative energy (even if the ghost is a benign personality). The emission of negative energy causes discord in a home, such as fighting, impatience, anxiety, fear. So, if someone in the home is arguing, they're feeding the ghost, and the ghost is in turn, feeding them back with energies that would make them more prone to have the negative emotions. In my books "Lessons Learned from Talking to the Dead" and "Ghosts and Spirits" I explain the difference between ghosts (earthbound) and spirits (crossed over) and how they use energies to strengthen and transmit signals or messages.

If you live in an older home the chances are that a lot of noises happen from the house settling. However, if things move in front of you on their own accord, then you may have a haunting. If its an intelligent haunting you may be able to talk to the ghost and get answers either verbally or by noises, or through electricity. If it's residual, it's just an emotional thumbprint of an event that happens over and over, and cannot communicate with you - like watching a movie.

Because ghosts and spirits are energy beings they have the ability to manipulate electricity in the home. Although I would always check to ensure it's not a loose wire or frayed connection. When my dad died he played with the electricity in my mother's house (I wrote about that, too). If strong enough, ghosts can audibly say words that we can hear, or if not strong enough, their words can be picked up on digital recorders. Ghosts can also move items (apports) and hide them.

If you think you have a ghost, do NOT provoke him/her and say bad things to them. They will retaliate- after all they were once people (or pets). Think of a ghost as an uninvited guest you need to get out of the house.

A Mom Comes Through in an Email Reading !

On October 19, I gave a talk and did book signings at the "Celebrate the Book Festival" in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. In the days before I attended, I emailed Lynn, the coordinator of the conference and at the end of her email she half-jokingly said "let me know if there are any messages from my (late) mother."
  As I read the email, I got a headache in the back left side of my head. That indicates that there's an energy entity around- either Earth-bound ghost or spirit. It was a spirit.
   Interestingly, whenever I get emails, sometimes a spirit related to the person, or somehow associated with the person- comes through. It's happened MANY times, and I've published entire email exchanges in both of my books "Lessons Learned from Talking to the Dead" and "Ghosts and Spirits: Insights from a Medium." (By Rob Gutro)
    Sure enough, a mother figure came through. She said that there was a white dress with blue flowers that was her favorite and special to her. She had a very dry and sarcastic wit. She said "tell my daughter that I'm very proud of her." She also mentioned that when she passed a clock stopped. That was another confirmation to her identity.
  I wrote all of these things to Lynn, who couldn't make sense of them. However, the next day she wrote me back and told me that her best friend said that ALL of those things pertain to HER late mother!  It was Lynn's best friend's mother who came through, knowing I would share the message with Lynn, who would tell her best friend (to whom the message belonged). THAT'S how spirits work!  They know that the message will get to the right person.

My Review

First and foremost I have to say I met this author and had a very interesting conversation with him. He was very articulate and was well informed on the paranormal. He offered me a proof copy of his book if i would read and give my honest opinion on his book. I want to let you all know I do believe in Ghosts, I have seen Ghosts/Spirits if you believe me or not that is your opinion, I will now give my opinion on this book.

Rob Gutro gives you a insightful break down of  paranormal activity, ghosts and haunts in the first few chapters which answer a lot of questions that are normally asked about how,what, where and why paranormal activity happens. The experiences that are written in this book are not only from Rob Gutro's personal experiences and that of his family but also of many other people and historical sites. This book is full of experiences that make you go wow and look at things in a different light. This book is not one of those typical haunting books that you can pick up in gift shop which gives historical "ghost" facts, this is something more real and personal. I truly enjoyed this book and for those looking for answers or just wanting something a little different I recommend this book to you.
