Video: Ghostly Doorway at Thornbury Castle from my book 'Ghosts of England"

In my book Ghosts of England on a Medium's Vacation by Rob Gutro, I stayed at Thornbury Castle and there were several ghosts there! This is a look at the outside of giant wooden door to my bedroom- where I captured a photo of the ghost's orb (a rounded, multicolored ball of energy- a ghost in it's most simple form). I got the name of the ghost, and he gave me clues to his identity... which I figured out when I returned from vacation. Even the reason why he stayed behind and why in the castle. It's all in my book "Ghosts of England on a Medium's Vacation. "

ABOUT THORNBURY CASTLE: Thornbury Castle is a castle in Thornbury, South Gloucestershire, England. This is short video scan of the outside of the castle. Inside, there was a ghost in the room where I stayed, and there was a ghost in the main section of the upstairs hallway. You''ll find both of those stories in my book "Ghosts of England on a Medium's Vacation" by Rob Gutro Construction began in 1511 as a home for Edward Stafford, 3rd Duke of Buckingham. It is not a true castle (designed to serve as a fortress), but rather an early example of a Tudor country house, with minimal defensive attributes. It is now a grade I listed building. The site was occupied by a manor house in 930. Part of the original plans for a very grand residence were "well advanced" before the duke was beheaded, in 1521, on the orders of his distant cousin Henry VIII, for alleged treason.

ABOUT "GHOSTS OF ENGLAND ON A MEDIUM'S VACATION by Rob Gutro: What happens when a medium goes on vacation? Can a medium simply switch off their ability at will? Well…not exactly. Rob Gutro is a medium/author/paranormal investigator and a scientist who has written 4 books about his encounters with human and animal ghosts and spirits. In this book, you will read about his experiences on two separate trips to the United Kingdom. England’s rich history and many epic battles have caused an over-abundance of residual emotional energy. Everywhere he traveled, he had a paranormal experience.
He explored royal palaces and spent the night in haunted castles. He encountered the ghosts of historical figures including a queen, a prince, and a nobleman; and several ghosts even shared their pain of death experience with him. On one occasion, the doppelganger of a loved one provided directions when he became lost while driving in the countryside due to a malfunctioning GPS. But not all of his encounters were of the human variety: there was also a very special visit from a canine ghost.
This book is intended to be more than just a collection of personal ghost stories. In addition to relating my ghostly encounters, he has also included a short narrative history of the places where the experiences occurred. After all, knowing the history of a place is key to understanding why a ghost has decided to stay behind. So, join Rob as he relates his encounters with the ghosts of England.

Rob has written 4 other books about the paranormal, two about people (Ghosts and Spirits and Lessons Learned From Talking to the Dead) and 2 about pets (Pets and the Afterlife and Pets and the Afterlife 2). The books are available in paperback and e-book on Amazon.com.

Email Q&A About How I Planned my Trip in "Ghosts of England on a Medium's Vacation"

One of my favorite books that I've written is "Ghosts of England on a Medium's Vacation." It contains all of my unexpected paranormal experiences when I twice visited the country. Recently, JC asked me a good question about planning the trip, and whether I decided to stay open to ghosts on the trip.  Here's his email and my response>>

QUESTION:   JC said, In addition to your pets books and the reading on Winnie, I recently completed your Ghosts of England and enjoyed it tremendously. My question is did you decide before you went that you would stay open to paranormal experiences or do you not have control over the situations?

I would think that would be exhausting. Either way the book was an enjoyable read. I just know from visiting several of the same places if I were being contacted by spirits and or ghosts all the time, it would eventually tire me and discourage my traveling.

MY ANSWER:   Tom actually worked with  Anne Marie of Across the Pond Vacations to plan out our 2 trips to England. Being an amateur historian on the Tudor period, he provided Anne Marie with a number of places to visit, and she coordinated things around them.

Good question about deciding before. My answer is "no." I didn't even think of the paranormal when the trip was being planned. In fact, I had never been to England before and was focusing on the excitement of finally being in a European country (previously I had only been to Mexico and Canada).

Usually wherever I've gone in the U.S., I've been able to mostly blunt the communications from ghosts, but England was overloaded with them, all of whom  wanted to tell their stories or reach out.  Since they were from different times in history, they actually added to the history of the trip, so it wasn't a bad thing.  It was kind of like being on a tour group where a lot of people want to talk to you, but these people were actually conveying history. :)  So I looked at it as a double-benefit.

Short Video Tour of Sudeley Castle's Gardens - from my book 'Ghosts of England"

In my book Ghosts of England on a Medium's Vacation by Rob Gutro, I toured the famous Sudeley Castle and talked about the ghost that haunts the castle. Also impressive about Sudeley were the magnificent gardens that surrounded it. So, in this short video, I'll take you on a tour of them!

You can read about the Ghost at Sudeley Castle in Chapter 19 of the book. Sudeley Castle was the estate of Queen Katherine Parr, the last surviving wife of Henry VIII. There is one reputed ghost who haunts the castle, and there's a very strange story about her burial that would explain why she's not at peace. It's all in my book "Ghosts of England on a Medium's Vacation.

Video: Feeling of Dread in the Tower Of London from my book 'Ghosts of England"

In my book Ghosts of England on a Medium's Vacation by Rob Gutro, I toured the famous "Tower of London," and ran into quite a few GHOSTS, and a portal, or energy doorway used by ghosts., In this particular video, I had just come out of St. Peter's Church and it was quite unsettling with the residual emotional energy within. That's because of the horror people learned in that church. It's all in my book "Ghosts of England on a Medium's Vacation. "

ABOUT THE TOWER OF LONDON-  When William the Conqueror built a mighty stone tower at the centre of his London fortress in the 1070s, defeated Londoners must have looked on in awe. Now nearly 1000 years later, the Tower still has the capacity to fascinate and horrify.
As protector of the Crown Jewels, home of the Yeomen Warders and its legendary guardians, the pampered ravens, the Tower now attracts over three million visitors a year. Here, the Ceremony of the Keys and other traditions live on, as do the ghost stories and terrible tales of torture and execution.
But the Tower also has a richer and more complex history, having been home to a wide array of institutions including the Royal Mint, the Royal Armouries and even a zoo.

The Thatch Tavern Ghost Whom I thought was Alive! - Read: Ghosts of England on a Medium's Vacation

In my book "Ghosts of England on a Medium's Vacation" I met a lot of ghosts from a lot of different time periods in England. They were all from different professions and walks of life. They included 2 queens, merchants, a waitress, ghostly monks, and members of the royal court to name a few..
Here's a short video of a ghost I encountered at the Old Thatch Tavern in the town of Stratford Upon Avon. It took me by surprise, because I thought she was a living person!
You can read more in my book and see the sketch I made of her.

Hever Castle's Ghostly Encounter:- (video and book) Ghosts of England on a Medium's Vacation

In my book "Ghosts of England on a Medium's Vacation" by Rob Gutro, I wrote about my encounter with a ghost named "George" when I entered Hever Castle in the United Kingdom. Having no knowledge of the castle, and no idea who it was, I learned it was Queen Anne Boleyn's brother, who met a fateful end under the rule of Henry VIII, George shared a number of personal things with me and accompanied me through Hever Castle, acting as a ghostly tour guide. This video that I made outside the castle captures some of that, and the rest is in the book!

Video Short: A Ghost in the Hallway of Thornbury Castle! In my book: Ghosts of England by Rob Gutro

In my book "Ghosts of England on a Medium's Vacation" by Rob Gutro, I wrote about my encounter with a ghost named "Rupert" that I encountered in Thornbury Castle. As I was writing the book, I was able to solve his identity (from hundreds of years ago, and figure out why he was there). In another part of the castle turned luxury Bed and Breakfast we encountered another ghost was moving doors and making noises on the second floor that was otherwise empty! This is a video of the hallway where we found the ghost exiting a doorway. ABOUT "GHOSTS OF ENGLAND ON A MEDIUM'S VACATION by Rob Gutro: What happens when a medium goes on vacation? Short Video: The Hundreds Year Old Ghost in Old Thatch Tavern, England

In my book Ghosts of England on a Medium's Vacation by Rob Gutro, I met the ghost of a woman still working in the Old Thatch Tavern, working hundreds of years after her passing. I learned her name and even sketched her. That sketch appears in the book in the chapter about the town of Stratford-Upon-Avon, where the tavern is located. The Old Thatch Tavern became the brewery for Stratford-upon-Avon in 1470 when it was also a pub. It has been a licensed pub since 1623 and it is claimed that it is the oldest pub in Stratford. It is the only thatched-roof property in Stratford's town center. This is the video I made after I met the ghost of Emily. Video: https://youtu.be/dqS9DfLaTKc

Short Video Intro to my Book: "Ghosts of England: On a Medium's Vacation."

Here's a short promo video about my fun book "Ghosts of England: On a Medium's Vacation."
I wrote this book after taking 2 trips to England for vacation. I always carry a journal with me on travel so I can remember what I see. I didn't expect to "see" and meet a lot of ghosts, but everywhere I went, some dead person (and even 1 ghost dog) wanted to communicate with me!!

ABOUT THE BOOK: **What happens when a medium goes on vacation?

Video: My Ghostly Tour Guide at Hever Castle: "Ghosts of England on a Medium's Vacation"

In the book "Ghosts of England on a Medium's Vacation" by me, Rob Gutro,  I wrote about my encounter with a ghost named "George" when I entered Hever Castle in the United Kingdom.

A Fun Podcast with Paranormal UK Radio: Rob Talks Kindred Spirits

Here's a brand new podcast of an interview I just did with Irene and Phillip at Paranormal UK Radio.
This is a fun fact-filled, experience laden 2 hour podcast where Rob Gutro talks about his new book "Kindred Spirits" and how Ed's spirit befriended him and the funny side of his communications. Of course, we also touched base about pets in the afterlife (based on Rob's 2 books) because Ed was there for both of Rob's dogs on the other side.
It was a fun and fascinating podcast!

Video: A Look at the Unfinished Part of Thornbury Castle (from my Ghosts of England book adventure)

In my newest book  Ghosts of England on a Medium's Vacation  by Rob Gutro,
I stayed at Thornbury Castle and there were several ghosts there!  This is a look at the part of the castle that was never finished (although it looks like it's in ruins, it isn't because construction halted when the owner died) thanks to Henry VIII.

Video: Ghostly Doorway at Thornbury Castle from my book 'Ghosts of England"

In my newest book Ghosts of England on a Medium's Vacation by Rob Gutro, I stayed at Thornbury Castle and there were several ghosts there! "
