My Review

First and foremost I have to say I met this author and had a very interesting conversation with him. He was very articulate and was well informed on the paranormal. He offered me a proof copy of his book if i would read and give my honest opinion on his book. I want to let you all know I do believe in Ghosts, I have seen Ghosts/Spirits if you believe me or not that is your opinion, I will now give my opinion on this book.

Rob Gutro gives you a insightful break down of  paranormal activity, ghosts and haunts in the first few chapters which answer a lot of questions that are normally asked about how,what, where and why paranormal activity happens. The experiences that are written in this book are not only from Rob Gutro's personal experiences and that of his family but also of many other people and historical sites. This book is full of experiences that make you go wow and look at things in a different light. This book is not one of those typical haunting books that you can pick up in gift shop which gives historical "ghost" facts, this is something more real and personal. I truly enjoyed this book and for those looking for answers or just wanting something a little different I recommend this book to you.

2 Interesting Books on the Paranormal

Over my summer vacation I read two good books on the paranormal. One was about Earth-bound ghosts and the other was a medium's experiences with spirits (who have crossed over). Both are well-worth picking up.

"THE WORLD'S MOST HAUNTED PLACES" - by Jeff Belanger is a very interesting and informative read. Jeff takes the reader to haunted places all over the world. Recently, I went to Scotland and experienced first hand the "Southbridge Underground Vaults" of Edinburgh, Scotland. Jeff provides a photo of each place, references and interesting stories. The book is subtitled "From the Secret Files of  GhostVillage.com" - and it's worthwhile for anyone interested in the most haunted places on Earth.
-    About the Author:  Jeff Belanger (jeffbelanger.com) is one of the world's most visible and prolific paranormal researchers. Since 1997, the former journalist has interviewed thousands of eyewitnesses to paranormal occurrences. "FOREVER WITH YOU" - by Medium Patrick Mathews was a refreshing read. Patrick has written two books and this is his second (I'm going to read his first soon). I totally agree with Patrick's view of "Heaven" as being all around - and not a fixed "place." Spirits come and go all the time, and can see what we're doing and guide us in daily decisions. Patrick also touches on suicides, religion, reincarnation, spirits, ghosts, and much more. He covers a number of topics that I covered in my books (Ghosts and Spirits and Lessons Learned from Talking to the Dead). I highly recommend Patrick's book and would love to meet him in person.

Rob Makes Cover Story of Bowie Life Magazine: Beyond the Grave

Back in May I was contacted by the publisher of a new magazine called "Bowie Life Magazine" to write an article about my experiences with ghost hunting and the paranormal.  The debut issue came out this week- and features the article and  includes lots of pictures.  It includes the Inspired Ghost Tracking Group and mediums Barb Mallon (www.barbmallon.com) and Ruthie Larkin (beantownmedium.com).
    - I must say that I was shocked that they put me on the cover, and used all the photos...but I'm pleased with it.  In fact, I already heard from a college student that is interested in Inspired Ghost Tracking and I emailed him back.

This event is much like Barb's larger mediumship events; however, instead of an audience of 50 or more, only 25 seats will be available. This gives participants a much better chance of having their own special reading.

This very intimate setting is a wonderful way to experience the process of mediumship through possibly your own reading or through the readings of others*.

Rob Gutro, author and budding medium, will begin the evening with a small talk and introduction. Barb will then relay messages from the other side to those members of the audience she's pulled to. She finishes with a small Q & A session and also possible messages from her students in attendance.

Barb strives to get to as many members of the audience that she can get to* during this event; however, keep in mind that those spirit people with the most dominant energy are the ones who will be able to come through. While she will do her best to keep the readings equal lengths, some spirit people have more to say than others. Some readings may be 5 minutes, while others may be a bit longer. Participants will have the opportunity to ask Barb questions during the Q&A session following the readings, and then meet with Barb and her students after the event.

Book: Ghosts on Film

I read a lot of books about the paranormal, trying to always learn more and get different people's understandings. I recently finished "GHOSTS ON FILM" by Troy Taylor. Troy has written a number of other paranormal books (which I haven't read yet).

  I found this book to be helpful, especially in terms of defining orbs and explaining how photography works in reference to the supernatural. The first section of the book went into a detailed history of photography to give an understanding of how it works. I started getting lost in the details there, however, and skimmed through the book until I got to the chapters on photographing entities. 

  Troy did provide extensive research on how early photographers tried to scam people with trick photographs of supposed entities. He also provided early photos that were scammed. 

  He also brings up Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, author of the great Sherlock Holmes novels and a supporter of mediumship. I didn't know that!

  In short, I found this book educational and interesting, and would recommend it to any ghost hunter!

Great Book: Paranormal State by Ryan Buell

As a fan of the A&E television series, I recently finished reading the new book "Paranormal State" by Ryan Buell (star of the Penn State Paranormal Research Team) and Stefan Petrucha. It's based on the A&E Series of the same name. 

- This is a well-written book and very enjoyable-especially for fans of the program. Ryan gives background on investigators and provides an intimate look into himself as well. I applaud him for his honesty and sharing personal things with his readers- It certainly made me respect him and admire him. I learned that I share a lot of similarities with Ryan: I had my first encounter with a spirit (not a ghost) when I was a teenager. I have a great partner/husband, love dogs, and try to help others as much as possible with my gift of being a developing medium.

- Ryan provides good background on many things including types of ghosts, EVPs, spirit "games," Ouija boards (Avoid them!), 

- He mentions that he'd been wary of physics and mediums but works with several talented ones now, who have proven themselves very accurate and helpful. 

- The behind the scenes look at various episodes is interesting. Viewers see 22 minutes, while filming and investigations can take days. 

  I highly recommend this book and following Ryan on his blog. I even gave this book as a Christmas present! Check it out. It's great reading.

A MUST READ: "Helping Ghosts" by Louis Charles

I recently finished reading a great book called "Helping Ghosts: A guide to understanding lost spirits" by Louis Charles.

- I actually "met" Louis through the Facebook page for my book on ghosts. Louis contacted me and we've befriended each other through our authorship and our insight into ghosts.

- Louis' book is a MUST READ. He really makes readers look at ghosts as not something so much "paranormal" as "they were once people." He really humanizes ghosts and explains that they all need our help to cross into the light, even the angry ones.
- There are a lot more insightful things in this book, and I can't recommend it enough. Every "Ghost Hunter" group and television program should have a medium or someone like Louis who can help these wayward entities cross over. They don't belong here.

Read the book: Ghosts in the Tower of London

Being a developing medium, I love reading ghost stories, especially now because I try and figure out the hauntings. I like to determine if ghosts inhabiting places are intelligent haunts (that can interact with the living) or residual haunts (that are like a tape playing the same event over and over) that can't interact with the living.
I just read "GHOSTS OF THE TOWER OF LONDON" - by G. Abbott. It gives a very detailed look at all of the buildings of the Tower of London and all the ghosts that haunt them. There are a lot of ghosts in that complex of buildings (it's not just one tower), and some of them are pretty unsettling. Of course, the executions that went on there caused some of them. The book is a must if you're going to visit there!
